I am a physician working in the hospital directly adjacent to Greenberg's office. I thought it would be convenient to keep work and medical visits close. So I chose this doctor because he was previously partnered to an Emergency Room physician with whom I work.
I work in many hospitals, clinics, and communicated with numerous offices. They all function and practice to a standard. This office staff is rude and extremely inefficient. People can have a bad day, but they shouldn't take it out on the patients. They treated my elementary school kids like little adults. "oh we forgot to include these labs too" Stick my already horrified 5 year old with a needle again. It's no big deal to get all the blood sampling at once.
Dr. Greenberg has a fundamental fund of knowledge, but his bedside manner is brash and often does not listen to the concerns posed by my family. Old school usually means good bedside manner , excellent medical acumen, and heavily reliant on good physical exam skills... not old thinking. You still have to keep up with medical advancements. We were told to return to his office to take a blood pressure rather than keep a log of blood pressures at home. When we arrived to his office, his nasty and snide nurse and front office staff questioned the validity of Greenberg's orders and decided to delay and frustrate the situation.
I don't even get to see Dr. Greenberg often. His availability is very scarce, and even may take up to months to actually see the doctor. He has physician's assistance, but in every other quality office you get to see the physician. Why go to this office? Who is so exceptional that anyone has to wait that long.
As I hand delivered the paperwork to transfer my family's records to our new physician's office, I was charged $17 to photocopy 20 pages. They wouldn't even fax the file to the other office, but wanted me to physically deliver it myself . They also rudely stated that they wouldn't transfer any documents unless direct payment was made immediately. $17 dollars is well worth the price to completely rid myself of ever engaging this tiresome staff and mediocre medical care.
I was so anxious to leave this office that I asked if I could pay up front for the transfer of MY records. As inefficient as they are, the one dealing with transfers usually takes her lunch at 2 pm so I would have to come back another time. Figures!
Spiteful and cumbersome to the end. I expect nothing more.
I always thought that the Family practice environment was geared for family. Every member of the family saw the same physician. There was continuity of care, and there was a strong bond of trust and familiarity. This is what I grew up with, this is how my professors functioned, and this how my classmates in other states nurtured their practice. What i experienced was a geriatric practice with no patience for young children or any need for input or patient communication. I hope this helps.... buyer beware! read more
