We love Green Acres and feel very fortunate to have fuond them! Our first daughter started as a poliwog at 14 months. All other daycares we looked at were crowded, dirty and glorified baby sitters.Green Acres has loving, nurturing, fair and disciplined teachers. Each class room was stocked with tons of activities and toys and a well rounded ciriculum for every level of learning and growth. From infant to school age they work on every level of fine and gross motor skills, language, numbers and alphabet, even sign language as well as cultural, science, art, history, and social study projects. The play area has a great variety of equipment for all ages. The staff is like family through all the rooms. They were all very involved in each child and our daughter loved all her teachers. When we were pregnant with our second child we were forced to move and determined to stay in Des Moines because we wanted to make sure we could keep our daughter and place or coming child in Green Acres. Our second daughter started as an infant in the duck room and has been there 4 years. She loves her teachers and we love them. They even potty trained both our kids!!! Most of the staff have been there for years before my kids started and are still there. Its a family run learning center that has been in business for decades. I have met many people who hear my kids attend and they rememeber that they themselves or their own children attended. Everyone of those people have remembered their time at Green Acres fondly. Green Acres is also extremely safe. They have a rigorous checkin, hourly count, check out and screening policy for anyone picking up children. There are video cameras in all the rooms and the tapes are available any time for any parent to view if they feel the need. If a child is having a problem with another kid, they can review the tapes and document the problem. Just recently my youngest daughter had an incident report with another child. Sharon herself reviewed the situation and was able to provide the full story of how my child had tried to use her words, and remove herself from the situation and that the other child would not leave her alone. Information like this is absolutely imperative for a parent to be able to handle the course of discipline at home. If you value diversity and creativity, you've come to the right place. We interviewed a number of child care providers in the area before ultimately deciding to send our son here (beginning 07/12). The halls are filled with hand-painted murals and children's art and each room has a unique name and theme (e.g., Polliwogs for toddlers, Penguins for potty training room, Teddy Bears for "pre-preschool", etc.). We've loved each of his teachers and it is clear that they enjoy working with children and have experience keeping kids engaged. Teacher bios, meal plans, and schedules are posted at each door for parents, parents receive a monthly newsletter, and coffee and snacks are provided to parents in the morning for drop-off. The curriculum for "pre-preschool" aged-children incorporates the staples: letters, numbers, shapes, colors, "people, places, things", rout alphabet, counting, beginning reading, art, sensory exploration, indoor and outdoor play, among many other learning activities (beginning Spanish, show-n-tell for older kids, special seasonal and holiday arts and crafts). Parents receive progress reports and individualized feedback from teachers. It is clear that our son enjoys going to "school" and that he has learned a lot since beginning at Green Acres. They have a great outdoor play area (which we value, being "outdoorsy" biologist-types), and our son has been able to develop gross motor and social skills through supervised play. Overall, we value the friendly, homelike atmosphere and friendly staff, creative and fun learning opportunities, and the confidence we have in our son's enrichment and learning through opting to go with an unique, local, established business. Greenacres IS the place to be! My family has been at this day care center through four children. I cannot imagine my children ever being anywhere else if they are not with me or their mother. Our children are 14, 11, nine, and two. We have put them all through Greenacres and it has been the most amazing experience for them individually and collectively. The staff is extremely warm, friendly, and approachable. They are all very knowledgeable and thorough with our children and they treat them as if they were their own. The center's administrative staff is absolutely first-rate! Every day that I have ever walked into the center I have been greeted by name and no matter how busy they are they always have time to chat for a bit or at least to give a warm smile that says have a great day, your child will be safe here. Although my family had moved from the Des Moines area we have always maintained that we would do whatever wassl necessary to keep our children at Greenacres and we are so glad that we have always made it work. We have laughed, played, and cried with the staff inside of Greenacres and although we only have one child left at Greenacres they will always be part of our family...even when he is done there. I absolutely, unconditionally, and without hesitation recommend this learning center to anyone looking for a place to put their children when they can't be with them. read more

My 4 year old has been at Greenacres for 6 months, she had been in 2 other preschools in the past. I have to say GA is a excellent learning center far above the two other daycare/preschool experiences we had. My child will definitely be ready for Kindergarten. All the help are cheerful, caring and patient, I have never seen any rude kids there or teachers being inattentive or rude. They have a great program, and they keep the kids attention with all the activities they have, It is a well maintained and very clean facility with nutritious and healthy meals, all the kids in my child's class are considerate and well behaved. They encourage good behavior with a reward system that the kids all understand and work toward . I give Greenacres Learning Center / Daycare a 5 star rating !!! read more

Green Acres Learning Center is the best place to send your little one to. We've been at in home daycares and other public pre-schools, and none compare to the genuine love and care the staff at GALC give! They send pictures of what my child is learning all day, they serve healthy healthy meals that they give daily reports on via the Tadpoles app, and my child is still always having fun! They communicate so well and have done some fabulous renovations! They've been teaching and taking care of children for 54 years!!!! We actually sadly left the center due to my classes being online from covid, and there was another center much closer... but quickly HAD to come back. Green Acres is simply the best! My kids have been going to Greenacres for 6 years plus since they were infants. I love that they send me videos and pictures throughout the day so I can see what activities they are doing. They have great nutritional meals. Most of the teachers are bilingual so my kids get the chance to learn Spanish. I love that they do potty training so it helps alot for at home potty training. Overall the staff is great and anyone looking for a professional and dedicated team to take care of and teach your child or children Green Acres Learning Center is the best place to go. Greenacres Learning Center is under new management and ownership. They've been renovating the building inside and out. The curriculum they use focuses on each individual child learning interest and outcomes. The bilingual program provides my children to learn Spanish and English. I also enjoy the app they use that provides me the security knowing my children are in a safe and learning environment. I receive important messages and photos throughout the day while I am at work. If my child has an accident or incident, I receive a photo of the injury and follow up phone call from the Greenacres learning center admin. I would highly recommend this childcare center. read more

I absolutely LOVE Greenacres Learning Center! My children have been going there for over a year now and I am VERY happy with how my children are treated and their customer service. If there is ever an issue, which is not very often, I bring it up to Mrs. Ester and she takes care of it immediately! I 100% recommend Greenacres from babies all the way up to school age kids! OHHHHH.... I forgot to mention... Greenacres is helping the school age kids with their school work, zoom meetings, homework, etc... My 1 1/2 years old son has been going here since he turned 1. He absolutely loves it here and is always excited to go. Every week he brings home a variety of arts and crafts he got to make. Meals and snacks are quality and well balanced. I receive multiple pictures and videos of him through out the day playing, reading, and doing art. It is also a bonus that the building has been newly renovated inside and outside. With all brand new furniture for the rooms. Greenacres has to be one of the most top Learning centers in King County area. My child is enrolled in their Poliwog (1-2 yr) room and I can be first hand to say that the lead teacher and all other floaters are incredible! They truly have an impact on how our babies transform. My daughter at the age of 1 and half already knows multiple Spanish terms and basic stuff such as throwing away and cleaning up her mess and even completing full sentences. Incredible! Our son has been going here since he was a year-and-a-half, he will be five in a couple of months. This place is a second home for my son. He's learned how to interact with other kids productively, I've never had an issue with him at this Center. I'm fully confident that my son will be safe while enrolled here, my first priority obviously. I would recommend it to anyone and I have. I have never had any problems with staff , they all have been nice and great with me and my child. My daughter loves to go here. My granddaughter has been at greenacres since infancy. Even though she is now in school she begs to get the bus at greenacres. This is part of their school program. I am very fond of so many at greenacres! The teachers have been very involved in the well being of each child. My child, who is almost five has been at Greenacres since he was five months old. This place has wonderful and communicative staff.
