A family owned business for I'm told over 49 years and the oldest gift shop in AMI. Great selection of every type of souvenir you could think of. Shirts, hoodies, hats, shot glasses, jewelry, magnets and everything in between. Competitive prices. Very friendly staff. Very, very limited parking. I would recommend. read more

I love this store. An antiquated store from the fifties or sixties, you can get some pretty cool shells, estate jewelry and other items for cheap. My wife bought an estate pin that on eBay would be triple for what she paid. And the owner is super nice. read more

the women behind the front desk was utterly perturbed that we walked in the store 45 minutes before closing. My husband asked where the beach umbrellas would be located if there was any more other than the sparse selection that was in the front of the store and she rudly told him " can you not see the sign that says beach room you'll find everything you need in there OK" unfortunate experience to say the least. We love siesta key with all our hearts and want to support the small businesses ahead of every big box store with unfortunate customer service like this. It makes us not want to come back. read more

My daughter lives in Florida and I love Anna Maria Island, so we go down and hang out for a few hours or so. Last time we were in there, the lady behind the counter was NOT friendly. I even hesitated to buy anything. Yesterday, we walked to the door and I remembered that but figured I'd give it another shot. Thankfully, we didn't see her but she came in before we left. While I was checking out, I saw the unfriendly lady talking to one of the employees. She was firing her!!!! In front of customers?!?! WTH?!?! Obviously, this lady is the owner. I felt so bad for the lady being fired. I wanted to walk over and push the owner out of the way and give the other one a hug. I will NEVER be back to this place. Yeah so just reading the reviews and am laughing to myself. We stopped here on a whim on the way back from lunch. Typical tourist crap so nothing to complain or praise on that front. The 1 star rating is due to the 4 or 5, who knows, "workers" that were behind the counter. They were bickering with each other the whole time we were there and were swearing quite a bit. I don't mind that but some customers I am sure would. Then when I bought something, the lady just left me standing there with my money out and the item entered into the register. I believe it was due to someone losing the safe key? Who knows. If this place was named after a movie it would be The Golden Girls: Civil war. read more

It was 8:20 when we entered the store. They were vacuuming the store and I was told I am trying to keep you in 1 spot so you don't track sand. This store is right across from the beach and we took pictures. Stomped our feet off before entering. Then 5 min. Later told my son to go to the front and stomp off his feet. I came on here to see if anyone else had this issue , looks to be an issue here. Very bad customer service and really they need to give themselves 10 minutes to vacuum after closing the store isn't that big where it would take long. We put our merchandise away and walked out. I am really surprised by the negative reviews of this business. The girls who waited on us went out of their way to help me find gift items for my five grandsons. They were absolutely awesome and I ended up spending almost $200.00 there. Their expertise was awesome and they knew exactly what your boys would want. As we all know girls are easier to shop for, at least for me anyway. These ladies did a wonderful. Did not see a cranky older lady but maybe she should do herself a favor and give the girls who waited on us a raise and let them take care of the shop because they are great sales ladies. I stopped in today after watching the sunset on the beach. Mind you the beach has sand and we may have had sand on our feet. We did stamp our feet to get most of it off. The older women in the store was more than rude and unprofessional. She was making comments about me and my children loud enough for us to hear. She not only said it once but many times as we were in the store to make us very uncomfortable. I will never shop there again and I live in condos right next to the store. There are plenty of great stores to shop at on this friendly island and this is not one them. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! read more

Wish I had read the reviews for this place. Just stopped in at 7:37 and the owner snapped at us that they were 'closing soon' (8). We felt like we were totally inconveniencing them. She was vacuuming in the store and my 4 year old was clearly unwelcome. Would NEVER spend a cent here. Shocking they are still in business. Maybe it's a front for something else? read more

Gift shop has typical beach gift shop items. However the selection of very interesting sea shells is unbelievable. I had an issue with a return due to two sisters wanting the same item ( little one decides later) and the store was very gracious and made the big sister who went out of her way to help the little one feel really special. A lot of merchandise to look at, but will never be back! Clerk was VERY rude and abrasive to our son who was doing NOTHING wrong. We ended up putting our merchandise back on the shelf and leaving! if i could give less than one star, i would. despite this shop being located less than ten steps away from the SANDY beach, the elderly employees behind the counter made it a point to complain very LOUDLY about how "rude" it was to enter their shop with slightly sandy feet. prior to entering, we spent a good few minutes outside brushing off, clapping our shoes together and just generally trying our best to be respectful, but were still met with angry remarks between employees, said loudly enough that we could hear, about the remaining sand. HOW can you own a shop so close to the beach, and hate when people come in from the beach? i seriously can't imagine that it is a good business model to chase customers out of your store who come in from the beach when that must make up 95% of your daily foot traffic. if you go to this shop, not only will you be met with rude remarks, but the employees LOVE to follow you around the store and hover behind you, to make sure you aren't stealing. overall a terrible experience. there are so many other shops on the island that are owned by kind, friendly people who love the beach as much as we do, so do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one!! clearly they hate the beach, children, and customers. read more
