There are 2 Green Trees Grocery Outlets here in Yuma. I prefer this one a liitle more, even though it's a further away. Both have decent prices...just take into consideration the expired date on the labels and some damaged boxes may have bollweevils in them. It opens at 8am, the early bird gets the worm applies here as well. The main road leaving the store feels like speedster heaven with everyone flying by. Still I prefer this one. Just saying.

All of this was only $8.85!!

Took me an hour and a half to find the in-town location of this store...not a happy camper about that. Both addresses are apparently listed on their Facebook page but when clicked on an android phone, it reverts to the Foothills address, so I drove 20 minutes out to foothills and ended up at an abandoned warehouse. Many people are confused about the locations of these stores. Need to work on that. As for the food, 90% of it is expired. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be, but I was under the impression stores couldn't sell expired food for profit. Granted most of it is 10 for $1 which is a heck of a deal but what does the store do if someone gets food poisoning? The produce is surprisingly fresh. 5lb bag of apples for $1.50. Kind of regretting skipping the apples now that I'm home. Everything in my picture cost me $8.85. The malt-o-meal is a real gem, doesn't expire until 2016 AND they've been discontinued in stores. I've been buying this stuff off ebay for $12 a pop and found it here for $1. I think I grabbed the last box though, sorry! ;)

It's kind of dark when you first walk in. But there are some good deals if you look around. I always find something.

You can't beat the prices. Like a 10pound bag of potato's for 2 bucks.

The new Del Sol Market in the Foothills is owned and operated by IGA, and located on Foothills…read moreBlvd. near the Foothills Bank. It has a variety of basic food items, a small clothing section, school supplies and housewares, Mexican specialty items including a restaurant and a small bakery, and a large selection of fresh meat and poultry. Some prices were higher than Walmart or Fry's. A 5lb bag of potatoes was $2.99 (and $2.94 at Walmart). A half-gallon of Sarah whole milk was $2.29 (and $1.72 for Walmart's Great Value brand). However, turnips were $2.69 each (and $3.04 at Fry's). The boxed and canned items also seemed higher. The family-size box of Cheerios was approx. $1.50 higher than Walmart. Del Sol has a weekly ad which is online and you can also get a paper copy at the door. If you have lived in the Foothills a long time, you might remember that the old Hank's Market used to be in the building across the street from Del Sol. Hank's was also overpriced, but it was very convenient for Foothills residents. In those days, there was only the old Fry's in the Foothills and the Walmart on Pacific Ave. I did not try the restaurant items. They had homemade tamales for $3.19 each. I thought they looked rather small (flat) and I passed them by. Maybe next time. Del Sol is clean, well-stocked, and it is a very pleasant environment. The walking (if you are elderly or disabled) is much easier than hiking through Walmart. I plan to make Del Sol a part of my shopping routine, along with Walmart's curbside pick-up. I bought a half-gallon of milk, 2 large turnips, 2 bananas, 4 avocados, and a 5lb bag of potatoes. The total came to $12.60. They had some beautiful fresh turkey legs -- I'm going to buy one the next time.
