Plants
Adam F.

They have so many plant options. I got an abundance of yeses. And they are healthy. Lots of pots too. The guy that helped me was very knowledgeable and patient as I went through my lists of plants. I appreciated the information and also the help to navigate around the nursery, pots, and green house. It was confusing to me. But, having a human GPS and Google helped immensely. :) It's a bit far for me to drive. However, it was nice to get a bunch of things I wanted. The smaller pots are more affordable and the bigger one less so. There are dwarf varieties and standard. So, there are a lot of things to choose from. I think it's a good place to go. It's kind of a distance for me. But, really worth the trip. Checkout was quick. A wagon was provided. I recommend them.

Stopped by to pick up my fall flowers. They had them in stock as well as many others to choose from. Many 6 packs available which make for a great price. Staff were available to answer any questions I had and two people were ready at the front to check people out quickly.

The best place to buy plants IMHO. They have so many running water fountains you can check out. I really liked the demostrations. Lots of succulents, vegetables, flowers, and even christmas trees you can plant. Customer service is really good. Come before 6pm!

Absolutely gorgeous tree :)

I absolutely love this place! They have such a huge selection, well organized and have very unique items. It is slightly pricier than most places but it's a small business and a huge store. The staff is always kind and courteous, knowledgeable. My one huge thing about this place is their Christmas trees. I absolutely LOVE them! They do the nicest job on set up and organizing the trees and no other place flocks the tree the way GT does it. Straight up: I'm a Jewish girl who loves Christmas and GT was the first place I ever bought a tree from. Made the mistake of getting my tree at Home Depot one year... absolute disappointment! They make the entire process easy and I won't buy my tree anywhere else. Lupita and Cassandra were awesome in helping me secure my 7ft Noble Fir the day after Thanksgiving! Thank you ladies! Support local business! Long live Green Thumb!

Have been a regular customer at this particular store. Many of the employees are great friends of mine; especially with Jonathan Burton, outside in plant nursery areas. His supervisor Danny Blanco is a major factor of my regular trips from Simi Valley, even though the Canoga Park store is a lot closer. The selection is massive and enticing. My apartment is loaded with houseplants from there and my downstairs dry river rock bed container gardening and landscaping (mostly tropical fruit trees) wouldn't be as great if it wasn't for their weekly fulfillment inventory.

Garden Center

what an incredible experience!!! Just the visit was entertainment, the butterflies, old pollinators blooming in this garden center were such a treat !! it's huge and its inventory is quite vast, the service is amazing. I had an individual help me pick out two edible grapevines for an edible great landscaping project that we've got going and I just wanted to give these guys a quick shout out and let anyone investigating whether or not Green Thumb is a place they like to visit I highly recommend it it's like going to a botanical garden All the while you're shopping at a Garden and hardware store ..... it's magic! Their plant stock is out of this world. In fact, I've even thought about going back just to get pictures and maybe of course by a few plants.... You've got to visit Green Thumb nursery in Ventura!!

Service is lacking. I waited on hold for 15 minutes to talk to the nurseryman and had to hang up.

Despite growing up around here, I somehow never stumbled through these grand entrance gates until recently. This gem of a garden isn't just my butt's savior now on long drives up from LA, but it's a sliver of paradise found--and sanity regained. Just walking around here for 15-20 mins. and you'll feel your blood pressure drop a few notches to a pleasant state of calm. You can explore the themed areas, take in the vegetation around you, and get landscaping tips just from strolling around their property. The plant things are grouped in various climate/hemispheres and it's nice to see them taking root and being incorporated in a seamless design (and it's nice shopping experience too). I was impressed with the selection and bought a few small air plants and succulents that are still thriving with offshoots. Prices are reasonable. For pros looking for inspo, I think this place that can offer Interior Designers & Landscapers creativity with plants. Or even the DIY Weekend Warrior looking to revamp their current landscaping or add a little something new to it. They have a wide variety of exotics, California natives to indigenous to Australia, and every other tree, shrub, and greenery in between. Since it's the year of the (hobby) horse, I'll be sure to get my butt up here more often in 2026.

It's a nice small excursion if traveling to LA. What a wonderful concept to put a botanical garden on the property, it could show what you could do with the plants that they sold. It's tranquil to walk around and explore yet it is right next to the 101 so the freeway was loud. They really packed a lot of diversity into this small area. There were plaques for each different garden. Plaques I noticed (though there might be more) were South African Garden, Mediterranean Garden, Grassland, Cottage Garden, Native Garden, Succulent Garden, Central/South American garden, Australian garden, and Asian garden. My favorite was the Asian garden because it had a pond with koi fish.
