I stopped in here to look for a giant decorative planter/pot. After wandering around a bit, I went inside and asked the two employees at the front desk for suggestions. The young man quickly turned me over to the young woman and she took me around the grounds to show me what they had, and when I explained I was going to plant a dwarf citrus, she let me know they really didn't have any planters/pots big enough for that. I did see one or two that were maybe okay, but were super expensive, so for my sake, her advice was accurate. I appreciate her honesty and now that I bought a half-barrel off FB Marketplace, I plan to return to Flora Gardens when my tree arrives so they can sell me the right kind of soil to fill in my planter. :) read more

I enjoy coming to Flora Gardens when I want to do something fun in our garden. Purchases have included lots of lavender, succulents, seeds, and flowers for the yard. Their staff is knowledgeable and super friendly and the Ventura Axxess deal for first time use is a whopping 25% off, amazing! They have a great selection of trees too, stop by you won't be disappointed! And if you're looking for seeds, they sell my favorite seeds (Plant Good Seeds) in a ton of various fruits and veggie options. Great seeds means great harvest! read more

Really impressed by this quaint & unassuming little nursery in Ojai! I decided to stop by on my way to downtown and am so glad I did. Though their selection of indoor houseplants is quite small (just one small room), they do have an overall good selection of everything in general (outdoor plants, cacti, etc.) What I was most impressed by was their reasonable pricing and variety of pots! Maybe I'm too jaded by LA pricing but I thought everything was really affordable and thought they actually had some really cute cement & terra cotta pots. I will definitely be revisiting the next time I'm in the Ojai area. read more

OMG!!!! I love this nursery... It has some of the best succulent selections and various plants that I love. And if I happen to find a plant that I like they will find it and ship it to their location so I can pick it up. Flora the owner is such a lovely person. I was so disappointed while at Flora gardens July 3rd, as they were getting ready to close there was a young Hispanic woman standing at the gate waiting to lock it as soon as the last 2 customers were gone. Several cars were pulling into the parking lot wanting to get in and they were Hispanic people she allowed them to go in with a smile, they told her they would be quick another car pulled in this time it was a white woman when she asked if she could go in the Hispanic woman said no they were closed and she got back in her car and left... another car pulled in 2 Hispanic men got out and asked the girl if they could go in and she allowed them this was ABSOLUTE RACISM so sad this is a business in our valley shame on Flora Gardens read more

Read the previous negative review about poor customer service and totally get it. However, I think the difficulty stems from policies to stay safe. It's true customers have to do A LOT more grunt work hauling things around, figuring out the (confusing) system, and getting someone to help, but I'm willing to cut them some slack. This too will pass, and I'm happy they're pressing through rather than giving up and closing. They do have science-based policies in place and customers are being smart following them, so I feel I can get my herb garden plants even in those small aisles without risking my life. read more

I'm sorry, I hate posting a poor review of this nursery that I've been going since I was a little girl. It's nice that they have remained open through this difficult time BUT... there was NO costumer service what so ever. It was so bad that other customers were complaining as well. We couldn't get prices for soil so my friend went to ask and the young lady didn't answer her and just pointed to the sign. They had us carry in a cart full of plants and had us carry them back out. When we asked for assistance we were ignored. We left without buying half the stuff we intended to. What a disappointment. Hate to say it. read more

Wow, I was just placing another order from them when I got this message. I drove from Port Hueneme to Flora because of the great reviews and they weren't kidding. First I called the day before and asked if I could send an email with a list of plants I needed. They said sure, and the next day I got an email back with what they had and what they could order for me. Duncan was helpful from the beginning to the end. Great nursery option in Ventura County. Huge selection of drought tolerant and native plants. Lots of fruit tree and succulent selections. The woman that helped us was very knowledgeable and friendly. The vegetable section was a little small but that's not the reason we came in. read more

After living in Oak View for the past 3 years and making the "long, horrible" trek into the big city to go to (ahem) another nursery there, we discovered Flora. Never going anywhere else! Great stuff and the prices are comparable to GF, without the long, trafficky trek . Flora's selection of heirloom tomatoes is out of this world!!
