We had made an appointment and the lady at the front called to remind us while we were on our way. The place was very clean, well kept, and smelled great. I think the prices are very reasonable. I love that they asked us our preference of the masseuses gender as well as if we wanted to be together or not. The rooms are separated by curtains, which makes it easy to transition from single to couples massage, without having to wait for a couples room to be available. With that, you can easily hear the customers in the other rooms but they have headphones that you can use with very relaxing music to tune out the extra noise. My masseuse did a very good job. She was sure to check on me occasionally throughout the massage. While her pressure was sometimes a bit too much in the shoulder blade areas, I'm always reluctant to ask them to scale back because then I feel like they go TOO soft lol. That assist the rest of my massage was good and I left feeling very relaxed.

I went in expecting a more thorough facial, but was disappointed that extractions weren't included in the service. They used a hydropressure machine, which sounded promising, but in reality it mostly felt like water being pushed into my skin and then suctioned back out. It didn't feel as effective as I had hoped. After the facial, my skin actually felt a bit greasy rather than refreshed or deeply cleansed, which was a letdown. For the price and experience, I'm not sure I would return. It may work for others, but personally, I expected better results.

The massage experience was mixed; while my guest Jason found his massage to be good, my own experience was less satisfactory as the pressure was too hard and uncomfortable at times\. However, the checkout process was the most concerning part of the visit\. After paying for two 90\-minute massages, I left what I believed to be an appropriate tip, and was then informed that there is a **mandatory $20 minimum tip** that had not been disclosed beforehand\. I was asked to adjust the gratuity, which made the checkout experience uncomfortable\. If a minimum gratuity is required, it should be clearly stated in advance or included in the service pricing\. Overall, the combination of the overly intense massage pressure and the checkout experience impacted our impression of the visit, and we are unlikely to return\.

I'm not saying I'll never come back, but I'll most likely be getting most of my massages in Flushing from now on. They charge about half the price. And apparently, prices are going up another $10 soon. OK then. Uh now, instead of giving me a small bottle of water, they offer half a tiny paper cup--the kind you usually see in a bathroom. It's also concerning not knowing where the water is coming from or how clean those little cups actually are. Didn't like that! Hmm

I've been meaning to try Ami's (I believe it says "Amy's" on the outside sign) since it's right around the corner from my boyfriend's place. Situated in the Best Yet market plaza, it could be very easy to miss! My back and shoulders have been killing me for weeks, and I finally decided to give Ami's a go. The foot massage chairs up front were all fully occupied with people getting foot massages ($28 for an hour), complete with a guy snoring away. I was lead to one of the back rooms with a massage table. They pulled the curtain to give me some privacy to shed my clothes (there were handy hooks on the side to hang them up), and laid face down to enjoy my massage. The massage started with me under a thick towel, with pressure points being pressed through the towel. Then it progressed with oils and hot towels and even hot stones!! Amazing. Best $35 you'll ever spend on a massage. It may be a weekly visit for me now!
