After a few "misses" I went to Home Depot Pro Contractor Resources and Tools online page in search of contractors as my sister had some good luck in the past. I reached out to Gabriel from Mariano Landscaping and, after a long drive up the hill, he arrived on time and we discussed a large-scale project I've been considering but really wanted the insight of a professional. And Gabriel delivered just that. When you go to a mechanic, if you don't know much about cars, you're pretty much at their mercy. Not much different with contractors. So when I hear someone say, "You don't really need this done," as Gabriel did, they've earned my trust immediately. He explained all the options that were on the table, the benefits and drawbacks of each and really took the time to make sure I had as much information as possible. There are smaller jobs I needed to have done and, if he's available, Gabriel and his team will get my business. Unreliable and Overpriced - Avoid Mariano's Landscape…read more I hired Mariano's Landscape (based in Moreno Valley) in December 2024 to landscape my backyard. From the start, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Their services are expensive, and I expected quality work. Unfortunately, that's not what I received. The owner, Gabriel Mariano, planted diseased trees and assured me they would recover in warmer weather or be replaced. Months later--after numerous phone calls and site visits--nothing has been done. Communication has been all talk, with no follow-through. The concrete patio was another major issue. It was poured with a weak sand-and-cement mix that lacked any gravel or aggregate. I raised concerns, and they promised a quality control inspection would visit the job-site. No one ever came and Gabriel could not provide the name or license number of the concrete subcontractor they used. Bottom line: once they're paid, they disappear. They don't stand behind their work or resolve problems. I do not recommend Mariano's Landscape. The pictures speak for themselves.

He pointed out the clear signs of that leak so we decided to have them both fixed as the last thing a homeowner wants is any sorty of leak. And it wasn't just an upsell as the signs were clear we needed to remediate the entire area and it's not worth the risk to cut cormers. Amit was very responsive and came back the next day to perform the work. The billing an invoice is rather informal where they tell you the cost and then that's what you pay. No formal contracts or docusigns which is nice. The pipe looks so much better and it's nice to know we now have a stable system that won't cause literal downstream issues later. It's always tough to find quality people that are responsive and can schedule you in as this kind of thing generally can't wait too long, especially in this climate. Thank you!
