The Goodwill nearby China Town closer to Kalihi, (my hometown), is bare bones dry & last resort. I liked how nice the selection of clothing are from the "richies" & "celebrities" from the Windward side of "the good life". I bought a 'practically brand new' pair of leather Adidas and (1)ONE pair of black jeans with the price tags and branding new clothing stickers. I would do a return trip for another clothing scavenger hunt again in a heart beat. The only thing I dislike is the long bis ride out from my hometown of Kalihi. This place is the best!

It's located all the way at the end beside Goodyear you'll immediately see a container for the drop off. Even on this Fourth of July like clockwork the staff is there ready to accept your items just as I was done another large truck drove right up and dropped off a huge load including a vacuum and other household items makes seeing the giving doesn't stop here is a pleasant sight to see. This Salvation Army Donation Center is a great location to quickly drop off your items with the largest lot to drive up and give is very easy and am grateful for this convenient location. Thank you!

Donation for a good cause…read more.. I drove past this Green Drop trailer on Kamehameha Highway as I headed towards the Ewa side of the island and thought: "Hey! This is something new!" Located along the line of Food Trucks in the parking lot where Sears used to be (look for the red and white Leonard's Malasadamobile), Green Drop is a familiar name because there's a trailer in Kaneohe at Windward Mall! Same idea! Bo was very helpful when I walked up to turn in my package of stuff. I was already in the system, so he entered my phone number onto the tablet, and I received a confirmation email with a printable receipt. That's so efficient! Bo stated that the two Savers on Oahu work in conjunction with Green Drop, which is a national company. The funds raised from donated goods go to various charities such as The Red Cross. Ahhh... interesting! I am motivated more to purge and visit the other Green Drop locations in Kapolei and Kailua! Note: this location opened on 8-1-24.

This Pearlridge Center location is very easy to find as it shares space with other food trucks in the former Sears location making a drop off easy with lots of free parking. They seem to accept anything from clothes to household goods and the staff there is ready to help you if you have a lot or any heavy items, love to see these Green Drop trailers more and more around the island as making the drop is easier than purging items that I know I no longer need. As I was driving in Pearl City I noticed a Salvation Army bin at the corner of my eye and wondered if they were open for donations as I do have some items I need to drop off and went right around the corner and found the container in the lot of the Joy of Christ Church. It seems like services are over and the lot was completely empty as I parked right beside it I could hear music and saw there was a gentleman there in the almost bare container...sob! He was such a delight and told him that I had no idea it was here and he says there was a sign but was told it needed to be taken down was sad to hear as this type of services are in need and as he sat in the bar container on a Sunday afternoon he was so bright and cheerful with a great smile it was a positive vibe that really stuck with me and was so happy to have donated some items that will go to great homes. Helping Hands was so much closer to where we live compared to Salvation Army or Goodwill. I like that Helping Hands is truly a nonprofit organization because they don't sell your donated goods to the people who need them. People can come get the goods for free at helping hands. Staff were always very friendly and helpful with unloading my car. They are also very good about giving me the tax write off forms. (Salvation Army has you go to a website to get tax form and I couldn't even create an account successfully on the website. Kept getting error message.) Helping hands drop off times are Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM so the drop off window is pretty limited.
