Fine, we said, may be a bit of a wait, so can we entertain you with a tour. Great we said. We ordered had the tour and sat down and the starters arrived. Fabulous. Then on to the main various choices all excellent and on to desert, all home made and outstanding. The service was exceptional, the value amazing. Previously the pub was very busy and bookings for a table were needed in advance untill it closed. The service was very friendly and the food was good. The blackboard menu was limited, but there was something to suit us both and we wwere pleased with the flavour and quality. For my main course I choose sea bass which I was disappointed to find was about 2 inches square. However the price did not reflect this. On receipt of the bill I commented on the size of the fish only to be informed I will pass this information on to the Chef I know in after thouight I should have paid what I felt was a fair price, but I was taken back by the lack of customer service and the brazen attitude. Unfortunately it just means I will not be revisiting, unless I hear that there has been a change in the value of Castles Inn menu.
