Green Banana is phenomenal. We had never had Honduran food before and were excited to try it. We had such a delicious, affordable meal here! Portions were also massive. We came for dinner on a weekend night and it was packed, but we were seated right away. We got the Pollo Con Tajadas (Chicken With Fried Green Banana Slices), the Carne Asada (served with beans, cheese, avocado, cabbage, pico de gallo, and choice of tajadas, tostones, or maduros), and an extra side of tostones. My favorite thing was the fried green banana slices (Tajadas) in the delicious sauce that came with the Pollo Con Tajadas. I ended up stealing most of my husband's dish because it was so good. Oops! The Carne Asada was also fantastic and I think both dishes balanced each other nicely, with the chicken dish being a bit more fried and the beef dish having some more variety (salty, sweet, refreshing bites). This is the pollo con tajadas. Food was very good! The chicken was tender and generally all of it was very flavorful. The chips did not get soggy quickly which I find rare for this type of dish! They are located off US 70 right across from La Bonita where Caribbean Delight used to be. I honestly liked everything that we tried! This Honduras restaurant had great customer service and great food. It is definitely a family spot. Note: There is no alcohol Inside is pretty small and casual. It gives mom and pop vibes. Our waiter, and I think the owner, was extremely nice and answered all of our questions. The food was delicious. I got garlic shrimp and the shrimp was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had planned on eating at Caribbean Delight. When I arrived I realized Green banana had recently opened in the space previously occupied by Caribbean Delight. I decided to give it a try anyway since I was hungry and Honduran food sounded perfect. Since they very recently opened, they did not have set menus yet. I was greeted upon arrival and a friendly employee walked me through the available options. The restaurant is appropriately named since it seemed like green bananas accompany every dish (yum!). I decided on the pupusas ($10.50) and carne asada ($18.50). I ordered takeout and it took about 30 minutes. It was worth the wait since the meal was delicious! They use fresh ingredients and flavor the items well. I recommend the pupusas and green bananas. We liked the carne asada, but it was too pricy for what you get. I wish I lived closer to Clayton, because I want to come back and try more of their food. I have had a lot of cuisines, but this was my first foray into Honduran cuisine. I was in a lunch rush, so i couldnt loook up a lot of the dishes but the owners are really nice and they have really good representations of the dishes on the tv screen, as he pointed out. I went with a familiar term which was the Hoduran enchilada, but i confirmed with the owner that it was indeed no where similar to a mexican enchilada. Their enchiladas are what I would have called a tostada. The name doesnt matter as much as they were amazing enchiladas. They were crispy homemade tortillas stacked with beef, a salad, something similar to a vinaigrette and cheese. What made this dish amazing was you could taste every individual component, in each bite but also you could tell that the components were meant to be eaten together. If that doesn't make sense, its because i can't quite describe it. I will be back to try more of their menu, I just need another reason to get to Clayton. read more

This is probably one of the best most authentic Honduran food I have ever tried! The food had so much flavor and really made you feel you were at mom's kitchen. The service was amazing as well had the waitress come check on our table several times to make sure we were doing okay which is definitely a plus on my books!
