I didn't realize how terrible my previous 5 dentists were until I went here!…read more Had to get three crowns today, and this was the first dentist where I didn't feel like crying when getting the novocaine needle. The doc did a little massage or vibration movement as he gave the needle which I assume helped disperse the liquid better and distracted me from the localized area of injection. So cool! I can tell by this he keeps up with modern dentistry practices, which I really appreciate. He's also kind, meticulous and swift, and him and the staff keep you informed throughout the procedure which I appreciate. Happy to have found a new dentist!

The dentist also, told us that my son needed a rooth canal in one of his theet, and gave us a treatment plan for a ceramic crown that was meant to be placed after the root canal gets done. After the visit, they demand me to pay half of the ceramic crown that wasn't even started! I told them I can't pay that money af we didn't get the crown done. They insist that we needed to pay half of the money that day as the thoot was cleaned and they had placed a cap which really, came off the same day. I ended paying a lot mof money out o my pocket wich made me very upset. This year, my son got his rooth canal and the ceramic crown in another place, however, Media Dental is insisting in billing me foor the ceramic crown and also, submitting a claim to my insurance. I tried to speak wiht the supervisor but, never call me back, I sent them a letter through a lawyer but they ignore it. I am preparing a formal complain for charging for a treatment they haven't done, and for all the stress they has caused me due to the harrasment they are doing, sending constant threats to put me in collection agency.

I've been going to Dr. Cook since 1991- I had a MASSIVE overbite, and impacted eye tooth and four…read moreimpacted wisdom teeth. I was an orthodontists dream- my mouth is probably worth upwards of $20,000 at this point for braces and surgeries combined. In '91Dr. Cook had a small practice with four chairs and one or two hygienist assistants but came highly recommended in the neighborhood. Now, almost twenty years later, the office has expanded to eight regular appointment chairs, he's brought in another Doctor and two or three main assistants (I know Laura is one- she's been there at LEAST as long as I have) as well as about ten other assistants. There are two things I can mention about Dr. Cook (fondly, of course) First, he calls everyone "Dear" (he's become known as Dr. Dear in my family). More importantly, however, patients will quickly discover the pride he takes in his work- I recently went back after a seven year hiatus because my permanent lower retainer was causing me gum problems and instead of removing it like I wanted, he encouraged me to do it the right way, preserve the work he did ten years back and got me three sets of invisalign retainers (only charging me for the lab fees) to move those suckers back into place, removed the retainer and put a new model in. He's just good- and takes pride in his work. I was reading one of the articles from Best of Philly hanging in his office (he's been named best ortho for countless years) and this year I noticed he'll turn 60- so I'm curious what his plans for retirement are. I hope that after many years of bring the right people in to work with him the practice will move on in the spirit of his work (especially since my kids will more than likely inherit the snaggle teeth that both me and my husband seem to have...)!

Since I was home all the time and wearing masks outside all the time, Covid inspired me to do something I always wanted to do. I got adult braces and now am finally fixing my bottom crooked teeth! Going to Dr. Thomas was a no brainer based on reviews alone. But a friend also recommended this office as she used them for her adult braces too. The service and staff is top notch and you can trust yourself or your child will be in the best hands. Another interesting thing about Covid is that it also had me re-think my lifestyle and I decided to relocate to Arizona just 5 months into my treatment. I didn't think saying goodbye would be so hard. When you find a great service provider you want to stick with them! I wish I could afford to fly back for adjustment but alas, I had to find another orthodontist to continue treatment. I chose this practice bc of the…read moreglowing reviews and convenience of the practice location but I regret taking my kid to start treatment here. 1. Impersonal care. It is a factory line. We never saw the same orthodontist or tech more than once. I don't know if they use random per diem orthodontists or moonlighting residents but the orthodontists don't seem to have much of a role. They come for 3 minutes and the tech does everything. 2. They are not careful or maybe it's a lack of skills. Something as basic as scraping off excess glue/cement so it doesn't puncture/irritate the gums when putting on orthodontic device. 3. There is no one on call for after hours at this practice. No one answers the on call service. They just don't pick up. You're out of luck if anything goes wrong after hours. 4. Difficult scheduling appointments. You must make your appointment weeks in advance. If you need to reschedule for an unexpected reason, there are no available appointments. They are also always running late. You wait in the waiting room, then wait again in the chair. Clearly overbooked all the time.

They sent me an estimate in case it doesn't so I can pay out of pocket. They told me they'll get back to me and let me know if he's covered. No one has called or emailed me back. I've called several times only to be bounced around or told they'll get back to me. It's been months. Very unprofessional, made me feel unwelcome and will be taking my business elsewhere.
