I was calling for bids on my paving job and Ed responded the same morning. He said it was doing a job close by and could give me a great price and do it the same day. He came by and gave me a great quote and handshake and we were on. They did a little leveling since the roadway, 320 Ft, was already prepped. They were done in about two hours and paid them. Afterward's I got a little concerned that I might have gotten taken, So, I cancelled my check and called them to voice my concerns. James came over the next day and we went over the invoice and included all the things they had done, cost, and warranty. We walked the road to ensure it was a even 3" thick. James put my concerns to rest and I am delighted with the work and their business practice. I would highly recommend them. read more

Great West Asphalt Paving came to my home last summer and made us an offer to pave our driveway. They did a great job and we planned to have them come back to seal the asphalt in the future as is the standard protocol. However, I am now fed up with the constant bombardment of having them stop by my house repeatedly asking to do it. A young man came by a few weeks ago and knocked on my door (I believe his name is Henry). When I did not answer he rang the doorbell. When I came and answered the door, we spoke briefly and I explained that I was busy working from home. He was very polite and I asked for his business card and said I would speak with my husband later and get back to him to schedule a time to have them come back. We had every intention of hiring them again to seal the asphalt! I go back to my desk to work and after a little while I hear another repeated HARD knock on the door. Startled, and in the middle of working, I get back up and answer the door to see him there again. I then tell him the same thing "I work from home, you are interrupting me and I said I have your business care and I will call call you later - thank you". He came back TWO MORE TIMES THAT SAME DAY!!! I finally said, "you are losing my business." A few weeks go by and today he came back again and knocked several times. I had to step away from an important international zoom meeting with clients after repeated knocking at my front door. I said "Henry, I am in a meeting" and then closed the door and went back to work. A couple hours later, he is back knocking. At this point I feel disrespected and very irritated. I would have hired them, but my husband and I are now so annoyed that we do not want to give them our business. He is honestly VERY lucky my husband wasn't home as he is a lot less patient than I am. We are busy business owners. Please don't ignore me when I say "I will get back to you when it is convenient for me". read more

What a wonderful, multigenerational family company to do business with! We were excited to have our 20+ yr old asphalt repaired. We have over 4100 sq feet of asphalt. Matt, the owner, is a man of his word and showed up with a team of at least 20 workers and top notch equipment. Each man had a specific task. I can only assume he was driving through the neighborhood and took notice of the extremely poorly shaped state of our existing driveway and knew we needed his services. I do not know much about asphalt. But my husband thought it was a reasonable price, they seemed to give extra attention to prep detail, they arrived on time, they were fast, they seemed to work as a team, it had a generous amount of asphalt, great detail at the edge, and they even created a curve to help rainwater drain in the correct direction. Great West did our driveway last week. They were very professional and gave us a quality driveway fast, for a fair price

"Henry" showed up at our home, letting himself into our gated property - he spoke with my wife who referred him to me (I was working). He called me and we agreed to meet at my house. He provided a reasonable estimate for sealcoating and I told him that I was interested and I would get back with him. He pressured me by telling me that it was a "today, and only today only" offer. I told him no and he then lowered the price. Suspicious, I told him that I would call him. After about 5 minutes of him attempting to pressure me, he left, only to return after about 20 minutes. He left again but returned a 3rd time about 5 pm - I told him in no uncertain terms that he had worn out his welcome, I was not interested and not to return. He drove by the house at least 3 times afterwards. He returned the next morning while I was at work, and my wife told him that we were not interested and to leave. He then called me and I told him that he was not to call again or come to my house or I would file criminal charges. He hung up. It's too bad because I would have hired them, but "Henry's" business salesmanship was a total turnoff. read more

Unbelievably Unprofessional - STEER CLEAR We used this company to repave our driveway as they were doing work in our neighborhood and paved multiple other houses in the neighborhood. As discussed before the work began, they said in their own words "We will do your driveway right." The work was complete, and then some of my neighbors started asking me if they are coming back to seal my driveway. I contacted the company to ask them about sealing my driveway. Every day for over a week they promised to come out and discuss sealing. I was under the impression that doing a driveway right entailed sealing. After five days of excuses, we finally reached the company, they were very rude and unprofessional. They said "sealer is not included, we just assumed you didn't want it, is it our responsibility to educate you about asphalt sealer?" Had I been offered a sealer at a extra cost I absolutely would have done it, however they never even discussed or informed me of it as they were concerned if I knew the extra cost of a I might pass on the entire job. They saw a opportunity to make quick cash and jumped on it. Additionally they asked me "how old are you?" which is an incredibly irrelevant and discriminatory question. This company took advantage of not only myself but took advantage of my neighbors as well. I highly recommend that you do not use this company. Their website states "A lot of people do not understand the power of asphalt sealcoating and therefore simply pass on the service. They don't realize the importance of it." I never passed on the service that was never offered. read more

We had our 2100 Sq Ft driveway that runs downhill, approximately 120 feet long. They cleaned off the area and prepped it. The asphalt looks great and our driveway looks perfect. We live at 6600 ft elevation and get lots of snow. We live off of Kingsbury Grade and some of our neighbors also had driveways done by them. I would recommend them. read more

Well after what seemed like a great job, we have had several issues that we want to have addressed. The wife have called the office many times and have been told "he will call you back today" only to never have anyone call back. Hate to leave this negative review but after several attempts and no call back, the warm and fuzzy feeling has gone away. The crew had extra asphalt and wanted to do our driveway. After negotiating and coming to an agreement and shaking hands on it the driveway got asphalted. The job looks good, but they were to come back by noon today to seal coat it. No show no call. I paid them trusting them to be back out today. Of course the receipt has seal coat yes circled. They blow smoke and not trust worthy, even with a gentleman handshake agreement. DON'T pay full amount until everything is done! read more

Not a true service. Not to be trusted, they were in our neighborhood and offered to do our house as a bonus to the house they were already scheduled to do. They said they would do it right...it was guaranteed... They did not. When we called them to ask them to finish the job they had started they refused. In fact they just asked me "how old are you?" Haha I would highly highly recommend going with another more professional company with better integrity. read more

My opinion of Great West is NOT based on the work they did for us, because we didn't hire them. We live in the country, with a gravel drive, and Jimmy came by, seeking a new customer. He said they were working in the area. We talked, he took a measurement and gave me a verbal estimate. I told him I would discuss it with my husband. The next day, someone else came by (I think he said he was Jimmy's brother). That was a Friday. The following Tuesday, Jimmy came back and spoke with my husband. He told him we weren't interested in spending $6k right now, we have other projects we're working on and an asphalt drive is down the list. Jimmy made a snarky comment that "people with money pay for asphalt." He may have thought that that went over my husband's head, but it didn't. He knows nothing about us and picked the wrong person to insult. We have plenty of money to improve our property, but when the time comes, Great West Asphalt will NOT be contacted to do our work. Ironically, a third person made a 4th visit today, trying to drum up business. A company that desperate for work will never get work from us! read more
