Been searching for a good Chinese restaurant and I can now say that search is over. Crab rangoons were on point... filling was delicious. The sesame chicken tasted great some chinese restaurants that i've had around here just use their orange chicken and add sesames to it, but I found Great Walls to be tasty. The shrimp fried rice wasn't doused in soy sauce or overly salty. We definitely found this place to be worth the 25 minute drive. read more

There quick to take down your order and tell you wait time without asking which is a plus to me. Plus they have sitting here which nice you can eat here and not be a takeout only like most Chinese restaurants nowadays. Also good of them to have the sauces, spoons & forks and napkins out for customers. Shrimp and broccoli lunch combo, sauce was good and very flavorful, broccoli and carrots were fresh and large. Now the shrimp they went miniature route on them, which is a shame since other places use a size at least same to the broccoli, so lost value on that end of it. Pork fried rice was alright can't say it was leagues above what I could get elsewhere. Fantail shrimp like most places was non crunchy dough heavy breading, was okay. Wonton soup was very good, love the broth and meat fulling, tasted great and really well seasoned. Kudos for making the soup awesome. Now fried chicken was amazing, crispy and tender, never had a problem with fried chicken anywhere abs this place delivers on same good quality. read more

Great Wall Chinese Takeaway - chicken, broccoli, and soup - Chinese Near Me - Central Valley, New York

The food is average at best. They are definitely capitalizing that they are the only Chinese take-out in town. Their prices have inflated beyond belief and did the standard reduction of food portions. You can sing the whole inflation song but there is a great Chinese take out in New Windsor who still maintains their great prices. Price gouging! The service is standard. read more

It's been a while since I have had some east coast Chinese food and we just happened to stop during a business road trip. Quick and easy food at a reasonable dinner price. No issues with my order, food was not greasy and it tasted good. The boneless ribs were not too fatty which you find they tend to serve at less quality Chinese takeout spots. Meals come with an egg roll and pork fried rice. Substitute as you see fit. The one cool thing about this place is that they serve a special diet menu which has no salt, sugar, or cornstarch and loaded with ginger for flavor. It also comes with brown rice. If you still like the sauce, they will make a bit for you on the side. I enjoyed my meal and would give this place a try if you are in the area. read more

Don't order the Mongolian beef, you get a ton of onions and scallions and barely any meat. It was not tasty at all. Lost of $16.95 not including tax and tip. read more

Great Wall Chinese Takeaway - "Mongolian beef" with no beef just onions and scallions - Chinese Near Me - Central Valley, New York

Typical Chinese take out place. It's in town so I eat there often but I wouldn't go out of my way:

Great food. Family run local business. This is a go-to for my family at least once per month.

I recently had the worse experience they sent me one wrong entree. I wasn't happy because I specifically asked for what I wanted. When I called to tell them they were very rude and unprofessional about it. What turned my stomach about the whole experience was that they asked for the wrong entrée back and I said that's gross are you going to resell that to someone else and I couldn't believe that they asked for the wrong entrée back after not even bringing the new one for another 30 minutes without the rice even though the stay specifically asked me to return the food I return the food including the rice expecting new fresh hot rice and what I got was that still a disgusting order which was not what I asked for. The delivery man even tried to charge my son for the delivery until he handed him the wrong food. The whole experience turned my stomach and i would not go back again. read more

Pass by on my way to Albany from Maryland. I was very happy that I made my way here. It is very short detour from 87 and there is parking in front of the store. It looks like a generic American Chinese place with nothing intetesting. But the food we had were quite delicious. The ingredients were fresh. The textures were right and the flavors were full and well balanced. We ordered mixed vege with chicken and brocolli beef. They are so good. read more

How many Great Wall Chinese restaurants are there in NY? Way too many to count, but this one beats others I've been to. I travel up here when visiting my bf and have to admit, the quantity and price beats Manhattan any day. To start, their wontons are HUGE. Basically the size of dumplings! But that doesn't mean they lack in flavor or meat. You're not eating a bunch of dough. The Sesame Chicken is crispy, sweet, and meaty. Not rubbery, fake, meat-like product. The bf got the Moo Shu and said it was delish. Bottom line, my fav Chinese place to go to when I'm around these parts. read more

For Chinese food in the middle of Orange County, this restaurant was quite good! I brought 4 Chinese people who do not speak a word of English, so they seemed relieved to be able to order in their own language. The staff is nice and the restaurant is clean. They ordered a variety of things and all was good. If official Chinese enjoyed our American knock-off version of their cuisine, then it should pass for Americans in Central Valley too! read more

Reading the earlier reviews I was thinking we'd found our Chinese outside of Chinatown. This is American Chinese food. It was solid, but nothing to sing home about. We may live in Central Valley, but we'll still be going into NYC for our real Chinese. The best dish we had was the garlic eggplant. The hot and sour soup the veggies needed further cooking. The crab wontons were too much wrapper to the amount of stuffing. I will say on more than one occasion I've seen buses of Chinese tourists bright from the outlet mall to come to the Great Wall. Maybe the two times we've tried there we just didn't find the right dishes. read more

A good takeaway place in Central Valley - a 2 minute drive from Woodbury Commons Outlet. If you are sick and tired of hamburgers and hot dogs and sub standard pizzas and want a quick cheap meal, Great Wall is the ideal option. The cooking aint gourmet - it is a takeaway afterall but you get a full meal (rice with stir fry and a spring roll) for round about $7 so that is good value considering you'd pay about $5 for a single hot dog (and you'd prob need quite a few after a full day of shopping!) Look out for the first red light along route 32 - Great Wall is on your left with the bright yellow signage. read more

Very mediocre chinese food in know there is inflation but there prices are high $ 7,50 for a quart of wanton soup. used to get food here once in awhile it always was meh imo. The chinese food in this area blows. I like chinese food but im stoppng eating it cause of the covid. Ill eat McDonalds or pizza Im done with this place for the most part read more

This little restaurant was suggested by a family member because of their boneless spare ribs. The restaurant just opened and it was a little bit too cold inside. The employees were really friendly and made sure we enjoyed everything we ordered. We ordered the crab & cheese wantons as an appetizer. They had a nice consistency of crab & cream cheese. They weren't greasy at all. We ordered the boneless spare rib combination platter, which came with an egg roll and rice. The boneless spare ribs were delicious. They were cooked perfectly and had a nice amount of flavor and sauce. They were the best spare ribs I've ever had. I would give the boneless spare ribs a 5 star rating alone. The egg roll was pretty good. It had nice flavor and it didn't leave my fingers feeling greasy. The fried rice was ok, nothing to brag about. The fried rice seemed more like yellow rice. I've had better fried rice and that's why I would give the fried rice a 3 star rating alone. Overall, 4 star rating. read more

This is the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life it was so disgusting we didn't even keep the containers it came in. And that's really unusual. read more

Ordered a ton of takeaway and It all came in about 30 mins and was really good. Crab ragoons where really good for takeaway. Pork egg rolls we're spot on. And the beef broccoli was great. Chicken noodle soup was great and the wonton was as well. Ask for utensils and napkins. I didn't get any. Really good for takeout and the website has all the menu items on it. read more

I ordered chow fun and got 5 hard, dried pieces of meat with noodles and raw chunks of carrots. Just inedible. Nine dollars for some noodles is a disgrace. This was so disgusting we didn't even attempt to eat the other meal we bought. They're extremely inconsistent. I've eaten here 5-6 times and three of those times the meals were disgusting. It's very convenient for my family and I so we tried to make it work. This was the last straw. Service is extremely poor every time. No manners. Good luck. read more

Ordered here for the first time and very disappointed!! The chicken wings were very tasty I'll give them that. But they decided to put shrimp and broccoli in a Cardboard container so by the time it got delivered my food was Completely soaked with the gravy. It was all over the bag and chicken wings, which made everything soggy. Like wth??? Why not just put things with Gravy in a plastic container so they don't leak out into everything else ordered??? Makes no sense to me. Called and complained about it they said they don't use the plastic containers for a small order. Really? Very disappointed read more

To reiterate what other reviewers have said, it's the best in the area. Have I had better? Yes. In this area? No. They are indeed very pleasant to deal with as well. I highly recommend if you live in the Monroe Woodbury area. read more

It's a real shame that this place doesn't seem to care about the quality of the product they are putting out. With so many Chinese restaurants in the area Great Wall has an opportunity to stand out as a staple in Central Valley. However time and time again I find myself terribly disappointed with the food that I get at this restaurant. I hope that someone that works at Great Wall sees this message and decides to make a change to the quality of their food and customer service. read more

Best local Chinese restaurant. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and they are fast. Favorites are Chicken Broccoli, Beef Broccoli, Fried Rice, Hot and Sour Soup, Wonton Soup, Steamed Pork Dumplings, Sesame Chicken (ask for all white meat). Definitely give them a try. Not Chinatown NYC quality but remember...you're in the OC. Free soda with large order. read more

These guys have attitude. As a customer, I feel I was being mistreated - impolite and unfriendly. It seems to me their business is too busy to put care on my dollar. This is my first visit and it will be my last. So long! read more

This is my FAVORITE Chinese food restaurant, ever! American Chinese food at its best with white meat chicken, tasty veggies, and well cooked rice. The dumplings are delicious and look delicious ( none of the weird grey meat that most places have.) My boyfriend isn't from the area and said the general Tso's is the best he ever had. I moved to Texas and can't wait to get my Great Wall staples when I come home to visit! I recommend the lo mein, wonton soup, dumplings, chicken and broccoli, general Tso's and chicken wings :) read more

Always my go to chinese take out place. Awesome food, large portions and great taste.

By far the best in the area. Food tastes fresh and the restaurant had to be the cleanest looking Chinese restaurant I've ever been in. They reminded me that Chinese food can be enjoyed, not just eaten. read more

Ordered food tonight and had it delivered it was faster than expected and th at was the only good thing about the experience. Delivery driver brought the food I signed for it and put a tip on the recipe I gave him. The driver proceeds to say what I just came out here and I don't get a tip. What the fuck kind of customers service is that. Went to eat the food and the order was not only wrong but cold worst delivery service and Chinese food I've ever had will never go back!!!!!! read more

A good Chinese take-out place, one of the best in central valley in my opinion. They still do make the best steamed dumplings out of any Chinese take out place I have ever been to though and for this I always go back. read more

I wish I could give more stars after reading all the great reviews but my first time there leaves more to be desired in terms of quality of food. No frills place with on-site parking for customers. Ordered the popular boneless ribs with rice, mooshu with shrimp, and hot and sour soup. Unfortunately, all dishes do not taste like authentic Chinese food. The flavours just weren't there. Sorry. read more
