I ordered chicken & broccoli -- this was NOT chicken -- it was undercooked chicken fat. The texture was squishy and inedible -- literally could not bite a piece off because it was so rubbery. We also got wonton soup. Terrible! The broth was so dark and like gravy. The wontons were tough -- the noodle was very undercooked and the pork inside were almost black and had a putrid taste. There quick to take down your order and tell you wait time without asking which is a plus to me. Plus they have sitting here which nice you can eat here and not be a takeout only like most Chinese restaurants nowadays. Also good of them to have the sauces,spoons & forks and napkins out for customers. Shrimp and broccoli lunch combo, sauce was good and very flavorful, broccoli and carrots were fresh and large. Now the shrimp they went miniature route on them, which is a shame since other places use a size at least same to the broccoli, so lost value on that end of it. Pork fried rice was alright can't say it was leagues above what I could get elsewhere. Fantail shrimp like most places was non crunchy dough heavy breading, was okay. Been searching for a good Chinese restaurant and I can now say that search is over. Crab rangoons were on point... filling was delicious. The sesame chicken tasted great some chinese restaurants that i've had around here just use their orange chicken and add sesames to it, but I found Great Walls to be tasty. The shrimp fried rice wasn't doused in soy sauce or overly salty. We definitely found this place to be worth the 25 minute drive. read more

It's been a while since I have had some east coast Chinese food and we just happened to stop during a business road trip. Quick and easy food at a reasonable dinner price. No issues with my order, food was not greasy and it tasted good. The boneless ribs were not too fatty which you find they tend to serve at less quality Chinese takeout spots. Meals come with an egg roll and pork fried rice. Substitute as you see fit. The one cool thing about this place is that they serve a special diet menu which has no salt, sugar, or cornstarch and loaded with ginger for flavor. It also comes with brown rice. If you still like the sauce, they will make a bit for you on the side. I enjoyed my meal and would give this place a try if you are in the area. read more

I recently had the worse experience they sent me one wrong entree. I wasn't happy because I specifically asked for what I wanted. When I called to tell them they were very rude and unprofessional about it. What turned my stomach about the whole experience was that they asked for the wrong entrée back and I said that's gross are you going to resell that to someone else and I couldn't believe that they asked for the wrong entrée back after not even bringing the new one for another 30 minutes without the rice even though the stay specifically asked me to return the food I return the food including the rice expecting new fresh hot rice and what I got was that still a disgusting order which was not what I asked for. The delivery man even tried to charge my son for the delivery until he handed him the wrong food. The whole experience turned my stomach and i would not go back again. read more

Pass by on my way to Albany from Maryland. I was very happy that I made my way here. It is very short detour from 87 and there is parking in front of the store. It looks like a generic American Chinese place with nothing intetesting. But the food we had were quite delicious. The ingredients were fresh. How many Great Wall Chinese restaurants are there in NY? Way too many to count, but this one beats others I've been to. I travel up here when visiting my bf and have to admit, the quantity and price beats Manhattan any day. To start, their wontons are HUGE. Basically the size of dumplings! But that doesn't mean they lack in flavor or meat. You're not eating a bunch of dough. The Sesame Chicken is crispy, sweet, and meaty. Not rubbery, fake, meat-like product. For Chinese food in the middle of Orange County, this restaurant was quite good! I brought 4 Chinese people who do not speak a word of English, so they seemed relieved to be able to order in their own language. The staff is nice and the restaurant is clean. Reading the earlier reviews I was thinking we'd found our Chinese outside of Chinatown. This is American Chinese food. It was solid, but nothing to sing home about. We may live in Central Valley, but we'll still be going into NYC for our real Chinese. The best dish we had was the garlic eggplant. The hot and sour soup the veggies needed further cooking. The crab wontons were too much wrapper to the amount of stuffing. I will say on more than one occasion I've seen buses of Chinese tourists bright from the outlet mall to come to the Great Wall. Maybe the two times we've tried there we just didn't find the right dishes. read more

A good takeaway place in Central Valley - a 2 minute drive from Woodbury Commons Outlet. If you are sick and tired of hamburgers and hot dogs and sub standard pizzas and want a quick cheap meal, Great Wall is the ideal option. The cooking aint gourmet - it is a takeaway afterall but you get a full meal (rice with stir fry and a spring roll) for round about $7 so that is good value considering you'd pay about $5 for a single hot dog (and you'd prob need quite a few after a full day of shopping!) Look out for the first red light along route 32 - Great Wall is on your left with the bright yellow signage. read more

The employees were really friendly and made sure we enjoyed everything we ordered. We ordered the crab & cheese wantons as an appetizer. They had a nice consistency of crab & cream cheese. They weren't greasy at all. We ordered the boneless spare rib combination platter, which came with an egg roll and rice. The boneless spare ribs were delicious. They were cooked perfectly and had a nice amount of flavor and sauce. They were the best spare ribs I've ever had. I would give the boneless spare ribs a 5 star rating alone. The egg roll was pretty good. It had nice flavor and it didn't leave my fingers feeling greasy. The fried rice was ok, nothing to brag about. The fried rice seemed more like yellow rice. I ordered chow fun and got 5 hard, dried pieces of meat with noodles and raw chunks of carrots. Just inedible. Nine dollars for some noodles is a disgrace. This was so disgusting we didn't even attempt to eat the other meal we bought. They're extremely inconsistent. I've eaten here 5-6 times and three of those times the meals were disgusting. But they decided to put shrimp and broccoli in a Cardboard container so by the time it got delivered my food was Completely soaked with the gravy. It was all over the bag and chicken wings, which made everything soggy. Like wth??? Why not just put things with Gravy in a plastic container so they don't leak out into everything else ordered??? This is my FAVORITE Chinese food restaurant, ever! American Chinese food at its best with white meat chicken, tasty veggies, and well cooked rice. The dumplings are delicious and look delicious ( none of the weird grey meat that most places have.) My boyfriend isn't from the area and said the general Tso's is the best he ever had. I moved to Texas and can't wait to get my Great Wall staples when I come home to visit!
