I officially announce this as my favourite restaurant and go to Chinese Restaurant in Beverly…read moreHills. Hiding away from the bustling streets of Beverly Hills this crouching tiger serves some of the best unique dishes that you won't generally find in normal restaurants. What I hate about Chinese food is they don't have very attractive names and most of the times they're just a straight translation from Chinese .. So I'm going to do my best to make the dishes names sounds as awesome as it tastes. We ordered wombok served in a chef's special broth, salt smoked chicken with ground ginger dressing, deep fried spatchcock and deep fried white bait with crumbed seasoned duck yolk. Oh and plain steamed rice of course! Did that tickle your palate or salivate your mouth or what? Words is hard to give this place and their food justice but the wombok was cook just right where it's not too soft as it still has a crunch when you bite on it. The special broth is thick so with each bite you get a substantial amount of flavour without needing to actually drink the broth. Which of course I drank it as if it was normal soup, just couldn't resist! Now the chicken, it's free range which makes the meat relatively chewy, and not sure how they did it, but the skin was crunchy like jellyfish if anyone has tried that before. Full of flavour and that ginger dressing was just the best compliment to the smoke salt flavour. D-E-V-I-N-E. Normally you would have white bait/squid as salt and pepper as most of you foodies would know, but using seasoned duck yolk (the ones in mooncakes) adds a different perspective all together. The first few bites are quite tasteless, but then it grows on you. The trick is to eat the white bait with pieces of the crumbed yolk and there you have a party on your palate dance floor. A meal at a Chinese restaurant isn't finished until you have the fruits. Usually (95% of the time) fruits at restaurants are tasteless, but man this place does everything so well, the fruits were SO SWEET! Can't wait for round 2!

Flying out to the states for New years and wanted to take my family somewhere nice the night before…read morei leave. Really wanted some asian food and found this place on Yelp with 2 5 star reviews. Have to admit that the last 2 reviewers for this place were spot on with their 5 star reviews ! The Restaurant itself is pretty small yet cosy enough to dine comfortably . All the food we had ordered from the entrée, to the mains and to the deep fried ice cream were outstandingly delicious! My mum is a pretty hard lady to please seeing as she was once a chef before we moved to Australia, she mentioned to the owner that it was the best Chinese food she's had a verly long time, she had the sweet and sour duck and she said it was melt in the mouth goodness !! At the end of our feast all of our plates were spotless.. thats got to mean more than that everyone was hungry lol!! Also another note to owner or possibly the manager of the Chinese Restaurant was very humble and a funny guy, joking around and being as helpful as can be . Found a favourite Chinese Restaurant mid week up north coast and now I've found my all time Favourite Chinese restaurant in the area i live in !! Was very impressed and will definately be back and recommending tohs place to friends and family !!!

You know the saying "the less you give, the less you get"? In this case it is entirely untrue…read more There is very little I can say about this restaurant without having to mask my disappointment too much. The thing is I'd read a bit about this place before we went, so I may have had high expectations. Although there are no complaints in the service department, unfortunately the team was yet again let down by the area concerning the food, which (obviously) is why we usually go out to eat. For the tiny bowl of boiled rice and small of plate of fried rice we received for $10.50 I didn't see our value for money. And as for the food? It was quite ordinary, a bit bland in some dishes (the garlic chicken dish and ham and chicken rolls), and our crispy skin chicken was dry - so again not seeing the value there either. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes? Maybe they were having an off day? Whatever it was, first impressions win again, the chances of me ever going there again are highly unlikely, on a scale from One to If I Have To.

I ordered Salted Tofu, Pork In Peeking Sauce and Fried Rice The salted Tofu was crispy on the outside and well seasoned, the Pork In Peeking Sauce was delicious and so tender and the fried rice was also really tasty. This is easily the best food I have eaten in a very long time and My family and I will absolutely be back, I also should mention the portion sizes are huge so make sure you are nice and hungry when you come here or order takeaway from here so you can enjoy as much of the wonderful food as possible. Can't rave about this place enough

This place is just organised chaos in Chinese seafood restaurant form. When we arrived we spoke to…read morethe hostess informing her that we'd booked a table online. Her response was that they don't bother checking online bookings. So we had to wait for a table to be free. This left us a little lost for words. However we were prioritised. We took our seats and ordered our banquet. It took a while for the food to come out. Not surprised to be honest. The place was jam packed and there must have been at least 30 big tables. We were seated in direct line to the entrance. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but as it was winter every time the door opened we were hit with an ice cold breeze. We kept our jackets on as they could not move us anywhere else. The restaurant space is most peculiar. Long rails run along the ceiling. I could only guess what they were used for. On the main wall was a huge screen that had Chinese tv projected onto it. When it came to someone's birthday celebration a Chinese cartoon about Christmas played with happy birthday being sung over the top on repeat for several minutes. I'm still haunted by this. When the food came it did not stop. It was plate after plate of amazing Chinese seafood. The only way it could have tasted any fresher would be if we caught it from the ocean ourselves. It was a night of madness but we still enjoyed ourselves. The food was amazing and the staff were eager to please. It always looks packed so I doubt it'll be closing anytime soon. I would most definitely be coming back again.

We went on a Thursday night and the restaurant was relatively empty. Let me start out by saying the…read morefood was absolutely delicious. We ordered the spicy boiled fish, dan dan noodles, and scallion pancakes. All were very good! I'm knocking off 2 stars because of our overall experience. I consider myself an understanding customer. I kept an open mind and came here for the food, not the service. However, the treatment we received was beyond terrible. They make their customers order on tablets, which is totally fine. The problem was that the UI is completely in Chinese. Sure, there are photos of the food items, but all the buttons were in Chinese. I couldn't find an option to switch to English either. I'm not Chinese and cannot read Chinese, so I was very flustered. When I asked a waitress for help, she looked at me like I was a complete moron. She had the face like "duh, this is the button to add an item". So rude. This interaction definitely dampened by overall experience of the place. Conclusion: The food here is great, but you may experience a hard time if you are not a Mandarin speaker.

Everyone's had Chinese food before, but it's once you focus on regional cuisines that you start appreciating the discrepancies within this massive culinary realm. The most famous Chinese restaurant in Sydney happens to be purely Szechuan. Luckily for me, Glebe is home to Spicy Szechuan, where I've had some of the best Chinese food yet. They surely don't skimp on quality at this place; most of the plates are large and are so packed with flavor that you instantly forget that Chinese takeout exists. Don't come here if you're vegetarian--the best dishes have succulent pork, moist chicken, and tender beef. The crispy deep-fried chicken with chilies is to die for. A half-chicken is fried to crunchy perfection and smothered in a bright red chili oil sauce. It's hard to explain, but the dried chili is just as vital to taste as it is for the heat level of the dish. But if I could recommend one thing, it would have to be the fish flavored eggplant (yu xiang qie zi). The name is a misnomer as there's no fish, but only meaty eggplant slices, ground pork, and a thick spicy sauce that is unparalleled in flavor. It might be the best version of this dish I've had. Oh, and sometimes there are tour buses parked in the front. It's that good.
