Opposite the well known Oaks pub in Neutral Bay are a small group of Japanese restaurants. A group of 5 of us decided to choose this one (apparently the lights were prettier outside this one then its competitors!), and I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and price.
So, food:
Starter: Pork Gyozo - well cooked, not over cooked, a little juicier then I am used to, but it worked
Main: Sushi and Sashimi Plate - awesome. Fresh fish, generous portions. Rice is not soggy or overcooked. The prawn on the plate was the only disappointment.
Two of my friends ordered the Soy Ramen, which looked really interesting and seemed to be a ton of food, another friend had a very interesting eggplant dish that would probably appeal to the vegetarians out there. Oh, and whilst I skipped it everyone else ordered the green teas and seemed very pleased.
Ambience / Service:
Prompt, friendly service, quiet, cozy restaurant. Nothing too special about the decor, but pleasant.
Total for the two courses was about $33, I would definitely go back and check it out read more
