I have passed this place several times, but never really had a chance to stop by to explore it, yesterday I figured that I'll give it a shot, and I was not disappointed at all. I arrived a minute after their closing time (As usual...) and most of the refrigerators where closed down already and some lights out, but the super nice Mr. Harvest (didn't catch his name) told me that I could come in and get my stuff... So, running around like a penguin, I grab some interesting looking produce (Mini baby eggplants, Wild mushrooms, Sabra etc.) and I ask the guy if he has some fresh clementine's and he's like, "Sure thing Abe" and opens all the refrigerators for me to browse through the other stuff as well, and although it was already all closed shop he was really nice and attentive, and then I spotted my new best friend, Mr. Pink! Now Mr. Pink is a Orange that is Pink from the inside (Orange is the new black?! me thinks Orange is the new Pink!) and has a sweet and refreshing flavor and definitely worth the extra quarter . So, in overall this place is a nice little place with a rustic interesting décor (Huge wooden wheel chandelier, brick walls and so on..) and they have all the "Cream Of The Crop" produce that you normally won't find in your local supermarket, at very reasonable prices and great customer service. Harvest, I think you're going places...

Circus Fruits is usually less crowded unlike their rival Three Guys From Brooklyn. Ergo, I have been to the circus in Brooklyn today to purchase fruits! However, this circus does not contain animals nor clowns who entertain customers, but are apathetic and stolid to the core. I rather see Three Guys From Brooklyn than go to this mediocre circus!!

Prices can fluctuate, but a giant carton of strawberries can be $1-2, easily half as much as the same product in Keyfoods. Bananas are 25 cents each or 5/$1. Four garlic cloves are $1., etc. I like to stock up and freeze what I don't use right away for smoothies. As always, be sure to check quality before you purchase - but I've had as much luck here as United Brothers and Natural Frontier around the corner - for a fraction of the cost. Thanks, fruit stand, for making healthy living that much cheaper.

When I got to the register, the cashier proceeded to charge me $ 5.99 for the melon instead of $ 4.99 stating I was purchasing cut up melon versus the whole melon which is the $ 4.99 price. Now try to explain to a cashier at 3:00 am that this was an entire melon that I just had sliced in 1/2 so I could more easily carry it/manage it to the car and then from the car to inside my home. Honestly, it's a small shop with sometimes low inventory but they've always got exactly what I come in here for. I go to Gloria's roti shop across the street and score my favorite roti and then I come over to this spot to pick up sweet plantain chips from a brand that I only seem to find in this bodega that I absolutely love. Then I also pick up a beverage, usually a refreshing thot juice (Bud Light Lime-a-Rita options) (they have each different flavor selection) or a ginger beer to keep my Caribbean experience thorough. These staple items are always well stocked and in an easy location to find. The atmosphere of this place is what gives it 4 stars. The owner (I suppose he is) is a friendly genuine guy. He's the type that gives you back your penny when you buy a 99cent bag of chips even though you have no practical use for; "it's your penny, you should have it" is his standard demeanor. Additionally, the guys in the back who are always drinking a beer and having a laugh are always cool and inviting.
