As if they didn't have enough going for them, Great Vapes supports local artists by posting their art around the shop for sale and doesn't charge them for the space. There's some real talent in there, check it out and pick yourself a unique piece! Right away, Sean greeted us with a smile and began to break everything down from the general mechanics and idea behind vaping, to the benefits and differences of each brand. My boyfriend and I learned a ton and didn't feel stupid asking questions. We ended up getting the top of the line, we figured go big or go home! We each ended up with the Smok Alien 220 w and I frequent here once a month to pick up coils. We have a ton of juices but prefer the more vanilla/custard like flavors. I've been to most of the vape shops between San Jose and Belmont over the past 2 1/2+ years since I quit smoking, and Great Vape will now be my #1 go to. Most shops have horrible selections or are priced over suggested retail. This place deserves your business. I came here several years ago and wasn't impressed by the hardware selection and juice prices, but the guys and atmosphere were great, not deserving a negative review, but damn... things have improved immensely! Although the mod selection could use a little help, they've got a nice selection of atomizers and their juice prices are now excellent for a retail location! I bought 120ml of Certified 365 for $55? Stores that carry that usually want $80-$90. Loaded Glazed Donuts 120ml was on sale for $35? I had never tried it before coming here, but I couldn't pass that up either. So I spent more than $80 and got a free 60ml. So that's 360ml of Premium Juice for about $125+tax. So that breaks down to roughly 35 cents per ml! My 5 star reviews are highly limited to places that I can't go without, Great Vapes just earned my loyalty. I'm glad I decided to stop back in. read more

Great Vape is my go to vape shop in the sunnyvale-mountain view area. The reason is simple: Genuinely helpful staff. Alongside the chill laidback vibes and reasonable prices, the level of attention to detail and effort they put into their builds reflects their passion for vaping and s up to par with what you can expect from a true vape hobbyist(Mike for example, was able to unscrew my kraken's impossibly stuck cover - an impressive feat). Also, I always learn something new to add to my hobbyist skillset when I come here, as I owe it to Robert for introducing me to DYI juice making amongst other invaluable info. As for objective store feedback, the visual merchandising definitely needs work, although they just changed the layout of the store so I'm sure they'll get to that as they continue to improve. My usual go-to, however they are not open at 10AM as they state on their door. I had an accident this morning and submerged my vape in a tub of water. Needed a replacement ASAP before my flight only to arrive to a closed shop. It is currently 10:15AM with no signs of any employees anywhere. Policies change. Great customer service. I bought my Vape at this location. They filled my vape and charged me accordingly. However, upon return to fill just the vape, I was told the policy is to buy bottles only. I was told otherwise at the time of purchase. I was very hesitant to write this review at the risk of sounding like a Karen but I think it is important for you to know, earlier today (Feb 10th) around 11AM, I went into your vape shop hoping to purchase a beginner friendly pod system. I've been a cigarette smoker for along time and know very little to nothing about vaping aside from the brief research I have done. That being said, I was hoping to learn something and possibly walk out of the store with a new system. Unfortunately, the employee you had working at that time and day, was very cold and very rude. I asked about a vape that would be good for a beginner. They showed me several options and offered very little additional about the devices they recommended. When I asked which one out of the several they showed me they curtly responded with; "I just told you". When I asked which of them had the best battery life they responded with, "they all have the same battery life." I continued to ask as nicely as I could as I was pretty vexed by their attitude if they could go into greater detail about the vape. To which they responded with; I've told you everything already." I didn't want to continue speaking with them any further so I just said to them; "Thank you for your time, I guess" and left. I've come here for years and was a big customer of theirs, but the one time i actually had a disposable dry hit on me out of the box I came back the next day to exchange it per their guarantee of replacement if this ever happens and this short brown guy, think his name is Gerald or something kept going in circles trying to not honor this policy. Not the first negative experience with this guy. Someone should retrain him on customer service, losing a customer over 15-20$ is bad for business and there are many other avenues for vape supplies. Robert the owner is super friendly, very helpful, very HOT (just joking robert in case you read this...lol), and very honest about his products which is great! He sells his e-liquids at a steal price of $20.99 for 5 bottles, other shops sell their bottles individually ranging anywhere from $10.99-$15.99 and that's a ripoff if you ask me. So if you're serious about quitting cigarettes and looking for a healthier way of smoking...then this is the place to be. The 2nd time i went to this vape shop. And it turns out, theres such a thing as TROLLS! The 1st time was when i had purchased my Smok vape batteries that i use now to help me get off of cigarettes. I am very frustrated tonight because i called in about a certain juice that maybe by chance they had,... i was unlucky, so i decided to go there and find out what juice was alike. When i walked in, the guy at the counter asked me what i was lookin for, but started asking questions in a suspicious way, i could literally FEEL tension .. (i give off as a "TROLL"..)?!?? The explanation from him all summed up is.. Trolls are people who will go vape shop to shop, EXPECTING TO BE HELPED, try all juices to see whats new in stores, and only walk out with a bottle of $17 juice so they could sell it online.. i don't know much about vaping, maybe just basics. i just needed help finding the right juice i could stay with. The other guy was cool, he offered me selections, and i was willing to buy even without trying it. Thats how uncomfortable i was even after letting them know i was the one the called earlier.. But they held the right to refuse service for some trolling reason, and i tried to explain that they've made a mistake. DAMN YOU TROLLS!! That was the closest vape shop that i could've been a regular at since i moved. So im here to make a review (revised) to tell everyone that it was a very unpleasant 2nd time experience, and made me frustrated that i was honestly just trying to find some juice. Theres no point in me coming back to that vape shop, so 1 STAR for this shop teaching me this.. "if you dont want to be pushed out, dont act like a troll." .. like what..?! I referred a buddy to Great Vape- who came for expertise in choosing a juice he wants to stick with long term. The story still confuses the living hell out of me, but an individual in this store labeled my referred friend a "troll", kicked him out of the store and yelled at him on the way out "We make $3000 a day, we don't need you". It's a great vape shop. I've seen this shop grow since it opened and have come to make this my go to spot in the south bay. At this point I've been vaping for 5 years and have seen it all. Here's my take on Great Vape.. Staff: Very friendly and helpful folks. I've always felt welcome here. Atmosphere: Nice and chill. It's cool to sit at their bar and try out the long list of flavors. Selection: Better than I have come to expect from a vape shop. They have everything I've wanted from the cheap stuff to the cooler items for vape enthusiasts. Pricing: Personally I think they're prices are great and very fair. Not so high that I want to shop elsewhere and not so inexpensive that I question the quality of juices. Before I say anything else, I'll just say that, 10 months ago, this is the shop that helped me quit smoking after 10 years of half-a-pack-a-day *and* they made me feel great about it. At the very, very least, I love 'em for that. This was the first vape shop I ever walked into. I did my research online for a few weeks, got an idea of what I was looking for, and walked in here to ask questions I didn't fully understand. Mike, Zach, and Nick were the first employees I met and they're just as helpful, silly, and genuinely good people today as they were then. Since then, they've hired a number of other people and they all bring their own good qualities to the shop. The regulars in the shop are generally just as helpful and friendly as the staff, which is just ridiculously cool. Great Vape attracts good people, and Rob, the owner, is genuinely proud of his business and supportive of the community. OK, the shop: massive wall of juice. They've got a huge number of flavors and, while the selection doesn't change dramatically, they're always testing new flavors and asking what customers think of them to see what to bring in next. Don't be intimidated; all the flavor testing is free. Come in, grab a seat, and tell them you have no idea what you want. Tons of hardware in the shop. The selection of mods and atomizers has grown dramatically over the past few months and it's awesome to see the shelves packed and regularly rotating the latest and greatest (while holding onto a few tried and true items that never fail). After visiting Great Vape, I started checking out other vape shops in the area and up in Seattle. This one is my favorite. I did have issues with the pro tank 2, but Robert helped me out selecting a better tank for my mini and all is well. Went there yesterday to try and get a replacement wick, they were out of stock for the iclear 16, but offered a great price for a tank with the wick on the bottom so that it's always saturated. excellent deal! Then I bought three new flavors, got home and realized one was not the strength I had asked for...so I went back today, for a friend. Mentioned that I had failed to check, and the guy offered to add nicotine to it. I was in a rush, so instead he offered me a bottle of blueberry lemonade. This has become my go to vape shop. Everyone who works here has been super friendly and I am acknowledged as soon as I walk through the door even if they are already helping someone. They have a lot of different juice brands and it seems as though they get new stuff in all the time. They carry some great juices including johnson's creek, five pawns, and most recently vaped out and street fighter. If you are looking to try some new juices, I highly recommend the gambit by five pawns, solstice by johnson's creek, and pretty & pink by vaped out. I like to have a bottle of vanda by johnon's creek sitting around the house as well since it is the best mixer out there! I mix the vanda with some stronger juices to mellow them out and give them more of a full-bodied flavor. Vanda is great mixed with a pina colada or cappuccino flavor! Mmm mmmm!! Been here two times now and both times went pretty well. The last time I went there I picked up some ejuice and other supplies. While I browsed, one of the workers built a coil for me. The place is super chill and the workers are super informative. The person who built my coil is Sean (I think) and I forgot the guy who helped me with the juices (tats on forearms). Great Cape has a nice staff and an awesome selection of mostly top shelf juices. They are knowledgeable, have a great attitude toward sampling and chatting. This is a really great crew and store. The setting is a bit like a pub, where you sit and enjoy the products. They have many brands, which most have 5 or more options. Most of them have more! The hardware they sell is not notch and up to date; the staff knows what they are selling and the owners are interested in selling you what you need and want: the tacky upselling is not felt here. The staff who helped me were great. But I can't say I'd vouch for the quality of the product, or at least products I purchased, here. I came in as an amateur vape user looking for my first set up and willing to spend a decent amount of money on a nice piece of equipment. I walked out $200 poorer and very unhappy with my purchase, though it was about six months ago I'd expect that amount of money to buy something of quality that would last longer based on the experiences of fellow vape pen users. Strike one: When I got home the charger didn't work with the cable it came with. I had to jerry-rig my speaker power source cord to the charger in order to charge my battery from the get go. Strike two: After a month, maybe less, the bottom of my rig started to become loose and wiggly when I attempted to put it on the safety mode in order to avoid burning out the element while it wasn't in use (in my purse etc.). Eventually I had to unscrew the middle to avoid disconnect the battery from everything. Strike three: The thing would leak CONSTANTLY. No matter what I tried to tighten or fiddle with to avoid this simply became an occurrence I had to accept. I basically needed a tissue and/or plastic bag to contain it when not in use at all times. Strike four: (maybe "strike" isn't the correct way of categorizing my problems...) whatever Finally the bottom "lock" screw became a complete failure. Trying to connect the "on" button with the battery became a hit or miss during use. Final strike: ((This may or may not be a fault of my own, nonetheless had it not been so janky in the first place I doubt this would have happened)) I ended up falling asleep with the pen on the bed next to me, unscrewed enough to be in the "lock" or disconnected position, or so I thought. I woke up a few hours later to find a huge mess of juice on my bed and instinctively reached for it to prevent any further spillage. It was blazing hot and I burnt my thumb. I needed to use paper towels to pick it up and unscrew everything without injuring myself further. It was quite unnerving after seeing the circulating Internet photos of people who had their pens explode in their hands. I should also add that I started smoking again anyway so it was rarely used, meaning it didn't fall apart because I was using it 24/7. I realize it's probably far too late for a refund or exchange of equipment. I'm also quite afraid to even try to use it again after scorching my hand with it. If nothing else I hope this review helps buyers know to avoid the model I purchased and to maybe look up online reviews before asking the advice of the sales person. Oh, and being the amateur I was I had everything set and ready to use when I left the store so I doubt it had to do with my noob vape assembly abilities. read more
