Spring Allergies is the worst season for most people. My kids are in the worst category. Swollen…read moreeyes, stuffy-runny nose, coughs and sneezy and itchy eyes. You name it and they get it everytime spring rolls around. This past Sunday, I decided to see Dr. WeiPei for some relief for my poor babies. lol. They are 10 and 11. My son goes first. He was nervous but willing to try. Four needles on your upper back and two close to your elbow area. He felt better after the session started. My daughter on the other hand said it hurt. But she is rather cry wolf kind of kid. lol. She also felt better right afterwards. I got my knees and wrist done. Feels great now. No pains at all. Sunday night I went to sleep like a baby. Kids were not all stuffed-up and were sound asleep. They woke-up with less symptoms of allergies. I am still disbelieve that it really works. I went from having to give them AllergraD and putting them on an inhaler when they have their allergy attacks to barely any medication and no inhaler. Kids feel better and I feel great. Who would have every thought acupuncture for allergies? lol. Still amazed myself.

Steroid creams, allergy shots, and the only thing that really helps is acupuncture and holistic medicine! After almost a month of weekly treatments I started seeing a difference. I don't even itch at night anymore! I now go almost every other week because of the progress and significant improvement I've been experiencing. Highly recommend!!

This review isn't so much for The Becoming Center as it is for Liz Quinlisk, a shiatsu practitioner…read morewho has a practice there. I've seen Liz on and off for several years for shiatsu massage which actually has significantly helped with my asthma. Now that I have begun my nursing career, I find shiatsu to be a great addition to help avoid muscle injury and fatigue. Liz is also a licensed physical therapist and incorporates her training and experience in PT into her shiatsu practice. Liz is down-to-earth and friendly and happy to chat with you during your session or respect your preference for silence. She doesn't use any offensive, scented oils or lotions in her practice and you get to keep your clothes on! She makes sure to check in with you to ask about pain throughout the treatment. Her fee is very reasonable in my opinion - $90 for one hour. You pay Liz directly for scheduling and payment so there is no having to deal with the Becoming Center as a middle-man. The space she uses is warm and relaxing and comfortable. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in finding an experienced shiatsu practitioner not connected to a spa.
