Called twice and went there once with no reply. When I went there at 1:30pm pe their hours of operation they were all locked up. I called number on the front door. Someone answered and said they would be back within an hour or so. I drove 45 min and didn't feel like waiting around for an hour. Not sure, but I wouldn't call it the NOT SO GREAT OUTBOARD!!! One of the best service experiences we have had in a very long time. We have a Honda 225 outboard, and until recently there was one inconvenient authorized parts/dealer in eastern Broward County. Fortunately, I discovered Great Outboards had moved to Pompano Beach. The owner Joel and staff are stand-up guys, they carefully explained everything to me, the good, the bad, the things that we could run into and the possible costs associated. The communication was great, charges were very fair, service fast, and the boat was ready when they promised. Never had a 4 for 4 in the marine industry and I have been boating for 25 years. I'm dropping off our Honda generators tomorrow, as they are also an authorized Honda generator sales and service center. My understanding is they also service Yamaha, Mercury, and Evinrude and have been in business since 2009. read more

Joel does a fantastic job on all things motors. He is the owner of this business and is very thorough as well as knowledgeable. Joel normally works on big boats and motors but took the time to repair my 2002 Honda 4 stroke that was not running at the time. He got it to not only run but run beautifully and more importantly dependably time and time again. When I upgrade to a bigger boat Joel will be the mechanic that will inspect the boat. I recently needed to get service for a recall on three Honda generators. We called some of the bigger shops near us and besides being unfriendly they refused to even give us a guess at how long the service might take or if they had the parts. When we called Great Outboard and spoke to Joel, not only was he friendly and professional, he told us he had the parts and he could could get the recall repair done on all three within a couple of hours. Even though it was a long drive, we took the generators over and dropped them off. A few hours later we went back, they were all set, with the repairs fully documented. Joel was even kind enough to go over best practices for running them and how to prep them for storage. I looked long and hard for a replacement motor for my boat... Living on the West Coast, nothing was within reach. Motors are like the Holly Grail and cost more than a new boat. So I found one via the internet from Great Outboard. The price was right, the motor was what I wanted and needed but, there were 2000+ miles in between... I took a chance and actually sent a check into the blind (and a hefty one too). I was a bit worried and tracked it all the way... As soon as the check was received and cleared, the motor was packed and shipped. I received it yesterday (IN ONLY 4 TRANSIT DAYS from the east coast to the west coast !!!!!!). HARD TO FIND THIS KIND OF SERVICE THESE DAYS !!!! Not only this is a trustworthy business but, they REALLY know what they say and do. I called and asked for advice over the phone and received it, I spoke with everyone in the shop and they all took their time and explained and answered every question I had...
