The owner/manager lady comes off a little rude and burnt out. She almost seems annoyed when you walk in. In her defense, owning a business can be difficult and exhausting and burn-out is real! We all know life is hard and it's easy to get feeling stressed out and overwhelmed. Doing a job day in and day out, it's hard to maintain the same level of professionalism and service people expect. All of us would do well to step back, reassess and try to see things thru the customers eyes. A couple things: 1. The shop is dirty. It needs a good cleaning. A dirty pet groomers shop doesn't inspire confidence in a pet owner. Our pets are our children, after all! I should add that the inside smells like cigarettes. 2. Every time I've taken our dog in for a nail trim they are cut too short. The groomer routinely has to apply a medicine balm to stop bleeding or prevent infection to one or two nails. This last (and final) time I brought my dog in she cut her nails so short that one bled out for a half an hour (and got blood all over my car seats and new floors at home). I understand occasionally going too short but it's practically EVERY time. When my wife called to complain the woman was defensive and unapologetic. It's better to admit your mistakes and apologize. Accountability goes a long way with people rather than foolish pride.
