I really wish I had read the reviews before I brought my husband here for the first time. He usually goes to an expensive barber, but I convinced him to give Great Clips a try. I have been here once before to get a quick trim and had a great experience. Well not this time....For starters, my husband made an appointment online for 2 hair cuts. The online reservation site does not give an option to add the second persons name, only to list "how many haircuts." He scheduled the appointment under my name for 2. When we arrived, the lady (brown hair, middle aged) at the counter immediately told my husband very rudely he needed a mask on. This is post mandate that all vaccinated individuals need not wear masks in public places. He responded back with a question, "Even if I am vaccinated?" She replied, "Yes." Without argument, he left to go and retrieve a mask from the car. By that time, the very rude stylist proceeded to ask me questions about the appointment booked online. I told her that we had booked two haircuts online, and I could clearly see my name on the check-in screen, as well as a plus one. Another stylist took me back to my chair and begin setting me up for services. By the time my husband returned, the same lady at the counter asked him if he had an appointment (knowing he was with me and what I had already told her). He told her yes and she asked his name. She quickly replied that he did not have an appointment and continued to argue with him as he again explained that the system had not given him an option to add in his name, only to choose how many haircuts. She then tells him he will have to wait 56 minutes. By this point he is irritated and comes to get the car keys from me and says out loud he won't wait for an appointment and won't deal with this very unprofessional drama. The rude stylist storms off to the back room, which is conveniently located next to my stylist's chair. I hear the general manager trying to console her about "dealing with rude customers." My stylist was very apologetic and sweet and did a great job handling the situation. However, I felt very discontent with what had just transpired, and as I was leaving asked if I could speak to the general manager outside. She never once addressed the situation with either me while I sat in the chair or my husband before he left, but she made a point to tell me she had heard it all. Outside she was very defensive of her stylist saying, "These girls deal with customers cussing them out all day long, and so yes they are a little defensive." I told her I could tell right from the start of walking in just by the way she had greeted us. It wasn't, "Hi welcome to Great Clips!" It was, "Do you have an appointment?" She then told me that had my husband worn his mask to begin with and not been argumentative with the stylist, that he wouldn't have lost his appointment time. Since when is asking "even if I'm vaccinated" argumentative???? Incredibly rude staff (minus the sweet younger stylist that cut my hair) and even worse management. I am used to spending $150+ to get my hair done at a true salon, but since COVID I have been doing my own hair at home as far as color goes. Thought how hard could it be to trim up mine and my husbands hair. Truth is you get what you pay for! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS GREAT CLIPS, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE GARBAGE. read more
