Greatclips in south Riding has always surprised me with their lack of customer service. 5yrs ago same attitude of the staff and a week ago same, thought i would give it a try as i was desperate to get haircut. It says they hire professionals but I went there the 1st greeting vibe was too uncomfortable . Secondly I sat on the chair for hair cut i think her name was Angie She asked the type of hair cut i want i said layers is fine, i already have layers its just not been trimmed for some time I opened my hair which is bit thick, she kept making excuses layers wont look good on you it will make you more puffy and then she says IM sorry cant do your hair and walks away. You took other people in front of my family and made us sit there even though we were first and checked in online. Then the lady cuz my sons hair way to short and he was super upset, and she was forcing his head around and he was upset that she hurt him by being so rough. Terrible experience. I got my hair cut by an Asian lady that used latex gloves while cutting my hair. Ladies, you already know how it feels to take out a rubber band out of your hair when it's stuck, well it was like that times 100 every single time she'd touch my hair. She also cut off more than I asked her to, and the kicker: I usually tip but this time I was so miserable the whole time I decided not. Well when it came time to sign my receipt, she pointed out where the tip line is. I added a zero and she asked me if I tip or not? I replied no. She then continued to ask me to tip her 3 times. My daughter's hair was done by Laura - very happy with the stylist and the cut. However, my son's cut was done by Lien... not happy at all. School is starting and my son's hair looks like my daughter cut it. I could have shaped it better myself. The pictures attached are of his hairline. If it wasn't so noticeable I wouldn't be upset, he is, after all an 11 year old, fidgety boy. No matter how fidgety, I've never seen his hairline so high, and so uneven. She rushed through it while trying to operate the desk and her rushing caused my son a screwed up hair cut. There is no fixing it, as it's already too high to attempt taking more off to even it out. I don't have great hair and don't usually spend much for a haircut. I have been going to zGreat Clips in South Riding and ,for the most part, been satisfied. I usually use a coupon and I looked "on line" and found a total of 4 different. I know Great Clips Salons are individually owned and may not accept all offers but I was surprised that they no longer accept ANY coupons. I had called earlier to see if I could get the stylist who cut my hair on my last visit, but was told she was too busy to look up my info . I signed in on line and went to the salon. There was just one stylist and no customers , although she said someone was on the way. I had all the coupons on my phone and was surprised that this Great Clips wouldn't accept any. Got my hair cut but I wouldn't call it a "Great Clip" and service wasn't very friendly - felt like I was a bother. This Salon needs to be closed. I specifically told the Hair dresser (ticket # 418721) to use #6 trimmer comb on the side. She started with # 6 comb, and then used #4 at the end. I kept on stopping her, but she said she used #7 before, and she used # 6 the second time, but when I confronted her by showing her the # 4 on the trimmer comb she used the second time, she wanted to give me a discounted price of $10. I showed my dissatisfaction, but the only thing she kept on saying was "OK, OK, OK". Enough is enough. Hair cutters are very good. More outstanding is Lynn. She takes her time to cut the hair but owner is very rude and obnoxious. His name Is Parmod. He is very cheap do not like any coupons. Does not know how to talk to customers. He even bothers hair cutters to hurry up and insult them in front of customers. Recently Lynn was cutting my hair. Family of four and one another person came while Lynn was in middle of my hair cut. Owner (Parmod) told Lynn to hurry up and made her nervous. this made her miss hair on top of my head. Next day after I took shower I noticed uneven hair on top my head. I had to use hair Gel to cover uneven hair till my next cut which was today. All the barbers were busy, we were next in line AND we checked in prior. Two ladies came in afterwards AND they didn't check in prior. They took 4 others people before they took us and all they had to say was "Sorry, we have already taken them, so we will get you next". A 15 min wait turned to an hour. The Indian stylist there, snuck in 2 haircuts In front of me, although we signed in and they did not sign in(I was watching the list). No sense of first come first serve both for the stylist as well as the clients that snuck in..pretty annoying. And the other Chinese stylist cut my sons hair too shot, although we showed her pictures from the book for a long hairdo. Aside of just cutting it too short, her explanation was that mom way paying for the cut, so you should have a short hair cut... I would have preferred for my son to like his cut.. Great Clips @ Peacock Market Plaza, South Riding, VA sucks. They are always short staffed at their busy times. This lady names Lynn is a b****. She ruined my mother's day by chopping of my hair. First off all she was complaining about my long hair after that she started cutting my hair without wetting it. She was frustrated and was complaining about being short staff. Listen to other reviewers!!! They are correct! We didn't check yelp first, husband went to get his hair/beard just trimmed. He spent 15 minutes just trying to be persuaded to turn over his email, phone, & address. We thought this was annoying and a problem.. But the real problem was hair cut/ beard trim. She did okay on the hair cut, not entirely even, etc., and then literally HACKED away his beard!! Not at all even, not uniform, now he has to shave his whole face! Wanted to share a worst customer service experience at Great Clips in Peacock Market Plaza - South Riding, VA. The owner/manager is extremely rude and has absolutely no understanding of customer service and experience. I have been a Great Clips customer for over 10 years and have seen multiple owners move through that place and have never seen anyone this bad. Lien T was the one who cut my son's hair, bad customer service did not describe our experience, she was a very mean and rude Vietnamese woman and I had the worst experience ever. She did a very lousy job on my son's hair and when my husband noticed the back of his hair was not straight and pointed out, she went ahead and cut his top hair short instead. I was not happy with her but still give her 15% tips and she started calling me cheap in Vietnamese (my Vietnamese husband told me what she said after we left the place). But the worst part is, while we were leaving, she started speaking in English and saying about cutting my son's hair twice and I was "CHEAP" about the tips!!! If I could give MINUS 5 stars, I would. Don't let Lien T cut your hair, she is really a very mean soul and I don't know where she got her certificate to cut hair because she can't even cut my son's side hair straight (I had to fix his hair myself). Also, to point it out, we went at none busy time, and there wasn't a line. I can't imagine what type of haircut would it be if it was a busy day.
