For some reason I got quoted $15 when I texted back, which is their means of communication and I said this was an answered me back. I went to the appointment. The stylist said it would be much more like $90 which is much more reasonable... she literally was incompetent. The hair was frizzy. She didn't even come the hair down. She did sloppy braids that she pinned in the back. The pins were all sticking out and she did very weak curls even though I said this has to last for the next 5 to 7 hours within 90 minutes, the whole Hair design was falling out the back pen braids were completely loose and falling out and the very loose sloppy curls she put in with the hot iron were completely straight... It was like taking $100 bill and burning it. Buyer beware not all of their stylists are competent.

Sue washed my hair once, even though I was really sweaty. I never had my hair washed only once in a salon. I asked for a bob short in back, long and angular on sides. She cut it and asked if I wanted it styled, I did. She literally dried it for a minute, yes a minute! Never showed me the back. When I paid she had the audacity to charge me for a style! What!!!! I went home & tried to style it, it was the same length all the way around & no angle on sides. My daughter came home and said "omgsh Mum, what the hell did you do to your hair? I went somewhere else the very next day! The cheap became expensive! 2 wash cut and "styles " in 2 days. Buyer beware. If you go there don't let Sue work on you! Feel like they owe me my money back as I certainly didn't get what I paid for. Not to mention the time it took for 2 haircuts in a little more than 24 hours. And silly me I tipped her to boot, as I didn't realize just how bad it was, and thought maybe the sweltering heat got to her! Never again!

I was apprehensive about trying a new place; and let's be honest it's not a high-end salon, but I kept expectations in perspective... its a $25 cut... "what's the worst that could happen...I only need a trim." FYI, I have tried a few high-end, popular Mt Lebo / South Hills Salons. When I walked in the door the first stylist looked at me and asked if I had an appointment to which I responded yes and then she looked back down to her client and never said another word.... ok then... I didn't know what to do with that... do I wait? is she the one who's going to cut my hair? is somebody else going to cut my hair? So, I sat down and waited about 10 minutes when another woman came from the back room to greet me; asked me if I had an appointment (again) but was very kind and assured me that somebody was finishing up with another client and I would be next It was late afternoon on a Friday so I was a little impatient. Had I not been addressed by the second person I probably would've just left Thank goodness I did not let my mood get the best of me; so glad I had an opportunity to meet Nikki From the moment I sat in her chair she immediately started looking at all the angles of my hair and made a comment about what she saw and wanted to know if I thought the same thing ... for the entire appointment she asked a lot of questions and explained why my answers were important to her construction of a long-term plan. When somebody is passionate about their craft, it shows and she was the epitome of professional but more than that she was so completely dedicated to my comfort and my satisfaction. I had a preconceived idea about cost cutters. and if you do too, make an appointment with Nikki.... You will not be disappointed.

BUT I had a surprisingly pleasant experience here! The woman that did my hair was really personable I believe her name was Debbie. She was really friendly but didn't talk my ear off (sometimes when I get my hair cut I debate bringing my iPod...kidding...not really). Pro: Great hair cut, friendly service, made an apt that same day with my sis and they could take both of us (it was during a Steelers game), didn't over style my hair Con: Could have been a bit more organized... Overall: Solid hair cut, great service! I paid $40 for a haircut (shampoo, cut, blow dry, straighten) which seems about average... Tip: My hairstylist Debbie told me about a sale they are having in October. All Services 20% off. I plan on going back and getting some highlights...thanks, Deb!

You will regret getting a haircut by these people unless you are getting a buzz cut. They let a random guy (A 50 year old man who is just visiting the US) cut my hair. I told him to just cut it short by 1 inch then he cut it by 3 inches and wouldn't stop what he was doing after I reminded him for many times. At the end, he wouldn't even blow dry my hair and just let me go while is still wet. I have only three words to this service: WHAT THE FUCK. Very friendly and personable, but more than that she listened to everything I asked for in regards to my hair cut. I hate finding a new stylist because you never know what you'll REALLY get. I read a great review about Nina before deciding to give Pure a shot and I am so glad I did.
