Once again left waiting while she attended another double-booked appointment. My time isn't MORE valuable, but it's AS valuable as anyone else's. In this economy, I feel fairly confident my time and money will be better spent elsewhere. Front desk and ancillary staff are very good, great customer service. Hair stylist not so much. If my 5-weeks-out knee replacement wasn't killing me, I might've stuck it out, (made that clear before booking a month ago). I even switched the date at late notice, per her text request this past Saturday, and that wasn't the first time. I paid her for the color, but since she didn't get around to the cut after being there an hour after scheduled appointment time, my forbearance had been drained.

My hair is natural but dyed, and I've always taken care to maintain its health. During my appointment, they applied a product without telling me what it was, then placed me under a steamer. I mentioned that my scalp and hair are sensitive, but no one explained what was being used. As soon as I left, I noticed a strong chemical smell. I washed my hair immediately when I got home, but it was too late--my hair started shedding from the follicle, not just breakage. Weeks later, my normally thick hair is visibly thinning, and I'm still trying to recover from the damage. Please be cautious if you have natural or color-treated hair. Ask specific questions about what they're using, because it was not clearly communicated to me. I hope management takes this seriously and reevaluates the products and client care process.

What should have been a routine appointment turned into a genuinely unpleasant experience due to unprofessional behavior and completely avoidable discomfort.The braider assigned to me was a new stylist, which I understood and was willing to accommodate. However, from the beginning, she braided my hair with excessive tension. I communicated clearly and politely that the braids were too tight and asked for less tension. Instead of adjusting, she proceeded to braid even tighter. This was not only disrespectful, it was painful and dismissive of a basic request related to my comfort and well-being. I chose a Black-owned business because I believe in supporting our community, but that does not excuse poor service or disregard for clients. Professionalism & Respect, they were lacking during my visit. I will never return back and encourage others to be cautious booking with them.

He booked my appointment for the following afternoon and assured me someone would be there. When I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff and neat, clean shop. As a woman who goes to a barber shop, cleanliness and hygiene is paramount yet often I found it's not a priority at other shops. I did not have to wait and was able to go straight to the chair for my cut. I received excellent service and a quality haircut, and I highly recommend this shop
