My husband goes here regularly for good, inexpensive haircuts and we often get coupons in the mail for a $14.99 haircut They are reliable and dependable and they typically have a very short wait time, especially if he checks 8n online first They do an excellent job for men and for women who enjoy a shorter pixie cut read more

Great Clips - Storefront - Hair Salons Near Me - Lombard, Illinois

The shop on South Main in Lombard have always been most welcoming and listen to me. They please me every visit!

I have used this location before, but today 4/03/25, the lady printed out the settings for my haircut but didn't follow the instructions. Ended up with a buzz cut instead of my usual. She was rough on the scalp and you need ear plugs, as her trimmer is so loud. I should have gotten her name, as I've never seen her before. I think I will give the $9.99 barber down the street a try. I have been using coupons lately at Great Clips and actually have a $10 off coupon for today, but since she goofed, she didn't charge for my haircut, just a $10 beard trim. read more

I went to the Lombard Great Clips after getting a bad cut/trim at the Butterfield Rd. Great Clips. I walked in and there was no waiting. Michelle greeted me, very friendly, and took me right away. I explained to her how I like my hair cut and she did a PERFECT job! I am SO pleased with how Michelle cut my hair and now I have found my new salon and my new sweet salon girl. Thank you, Michelle, you are awesome! See you next time. read more

This Lombard Great Clips location gives quality haircuts. Very friendly staff! Very clean salon.

This was my 2nd and final time coming here. After the 1st haircut, I was hoping to come back and get a better experience but NOPE. I was wrong. (By the way, the same lady cut my hair each time. I don't know her name, but describing her appearance, she's a tall African American woman, and she had dreads both times I went) She's actually INCREDIBLE at cutting hair (the first time), and considering the reputation that great clips gets for hiring inexperienced barbers, my hair looked somewhat decent, no complaints on the actual hair lol. BUT the second visit is what compelled me to write this essay... First time visiting was a poor experience. MY bad part was showing up 15 minutes before closing which I know is not fair but I would've gladly left if she preferred me to (I even asked if if she preferred a cut today or tomorrow) but she said to get in the chair with an attitude....long story short, my hair looked fine but she was f****g ANGRY and really rude. I thought to myself "ok maybe I ruined her night, I apologized to her for the late appearance and come back at a better time next visit" Visit 2!!! ugh. She asked me if I wanted the same length as last time , I said no! I wanted the sides and back to be half the length that it is, and leave the top as is. (Basically a fringe cut. short sides, long top) She starts cutting the sides and back. throughout the entirety of the haircut, she is moving & pushing my head around so fckn aggressively im literally getting whiplash....NOW, a normal barber would respectfully twist the chair around if needed with her hands...like a human....; this woman is shifting my body around with her gunt (google that) as if I'm an object or something. I thought to my self "why and how is she twisting the chair 360° with just her stomach...shook". As the result of this gunt exercise, I am now facing COMPLETELY AWAY from the mirror....and she started cutting the TOP of my hair!!!! Even tho I told her not to. I forcefully move the chair back to its position that it's supposed to be in and she cut off half my bang...... now I know i wasn't bald but I swear it felt like I was Vin Diesel for a minute. I brought a coupon with me that expired the day AFTER my visit so I knew it was going to work at the store. I've used many coupons at GC in the past and never had a problem, and I came prepared with a $20 bill in cash. Coupon was $14 (orig. $20) and I was planning to leave the rest as a $6 tip (hm a generous almost 50%), she enters the code and it didn't accept it??!! She said "I'm sorry but the machine says it's expired. I can't do anything or have any authority to bring the price down to $14. The best I can do is $18". I told her "I'm sorry but I only have this $20 bill, and I don't want to leave you a $2 tip for a $18 service". She negatively said "that's fine", took my $20, and I walked away and I don't plan on returning since my bald head won't need another haircut for a while. I don't recommend this place at all. What I DO recommend is going across the street to the barber shop called "$9.99 Haircut" (cash only btw, and I think Apple Maps has it labeled as '$7.99 haircut' from a few years back) That was the BEST haircut I've ever had in my life. read more

First and foremost, I get great haircuts here. They are fast, professional, and efficient. Additionally, Tanisha has a wonderful, bubbly personality, and always makes my visits enjoyable! I highly recommend this great cuts to anyone who wants a good haircut that was affordable and pleasant. read more

I walked in here yesterday afternoon to get a quick trim while I had time to kill before meeting a friend for dinner nearby. When I was sitting and waiting, I looked at the Yelp application on my phone and saw the bad reviews for this place by previous customers. A bit anxious after reading them, I still went ahead and got my hair trimmed. The woman who worked on my hair was very nice, and when I told her I've been washing my hair naturally lately and didn't want chemicals in my hair, she was very understanding and offered a few helpful tips! I'm giving this place four stars because of how accommodating & friendly the woman (I believe her name is Donna) was; she also kept checking with me to make sure I liked how she was doing my hair. So, I don't know about the previous bad reviews, but for $13, I got a nice quick trim from a friendly, knowledgeable hair stylist! That's all I needed. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I don't know what urged me to stray from going to my barber, maybe the need to have to save a few bucks? Totally not worth it! I don't know what that lady's name was, she was Latino with a couple spare tires and bad teeth, but before I could stop her she destroyed my side burns. I didn't even want to argue because the place smelled like a rotten kennel full of wet dog hair and spit. Tip? I think not. Not to mention she cut like an inch of my normal hairline back. Screw you, (not so) Great Clips! read more

I went to the Great Clips in Lomabard on Main Street at 5:42. I have been going there for over 15 years. She told me that they close at 6pm and she takes her last customer at 5:40. I was like really? As I walked out she locked the door. So I went today to a different one. They told me they take people up to closing time. I also call customer service who also said they take people till closing time. It took about 7 minutes to trim my hair so I would of been out of the Lombard store before 6pm. I been in retail for over 20 years would never stop in 5 minutes before close read more

I've been going here for years. I love Tyneshia, I always feel like a million bucks when I leave and I don't have to spend a fortune on a haircut. She's so good my nephew has made her his stylist. Rock on! read more

The staff is very friendly. In fact got a little advice on good coffees. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the beautiful Greek women who cut my hair... My new haircut spot for sure.. read more

Terrible. I was there a week ago Saturday and resisted writing a review but I feel the need to forewarn people. There was a very low energy woman who said she was with Great Clips for 20 years (with various owners) who was very lackadaisical. She totally ignored my request for a #5 cut with a clipper and did it her way. SHE USED THE CLIPPER BUT THEN RUINED MY HAIR USING A COMB AND A CLIPPER. My haircut is not even, but too short to return to the store. Stay away from this place. It was good at one time but employees here really don't care what you want. read more

I go here every month to get my regular hair cut. I think she is eastern european and Vishinka is her name. She knows what I like, that she figured out the first time we spent time discussing what I like. I just have to show up, she remembers me and knows what I like and I can go worry free through the hair cut session. I have tried a couple other places and it took them much longer to come to a conclusion on what I like. With haircuts, YMMV, I did see some negative reviews earlier of the place, but I have no complaints. read more

They are just like every other Great Clips, but their prices are higher than the Glen Ellyn and Villa Park locations off of Roosevelt road.

So I went in today to get a hair cut and a wash my hair was like down to my elbow so whatever I told her I wanted maybe like 7 or 8 inches off so she went and cut them neck length I Cryed so bad and my emotions was just up a hill because I'm 8 weeks pregnant aslo I'm sill very upset about it I don't like the way it looks it's just horrible I'm never cutting my hair again or eather going back there worst experience of my life I look like Dora de explore thanks so much for fucking up my hair I know it grows back but come on you shouldn't be working there if you don't listen to what ur clients wants and you do ur own thing maybe you should of been still working with other people before you started going on your own read more

I do not want to bash EVERY stylist here. I was going to this salon for a while until I experienced a hair tragedy last summer. The one lady I will exclude from this review is one whose name I cannot remember (sorry!). Vishinka? It's close, but I know, horribly wrong. Would you like your long (I'm talking long, hitting the band of your bra, long) curly hair butchered into choppy layers that start at the length of your eyes? Would you like this done after telling your stylist that you'd like an inch taken off with a couple LONG layers? Would you like all this accomplished in 5 minutes at a speed at which no words could possibly stop? I'm done interrogating you, reader. Instead I would just LOVE to post a before and after picture and alleviate some of my anger into your eyes. Oh, I really would. It's been, let's see, eight months since that disaster, and I'm still patiently letting those ruins grow. Thanks to Lush's hair products that lifted up oil and all that greatness, and, the only thing I was left with--lots and lots of patience, it's starting to look better. I really hate a bad haircut. God do I hate having to constantly fix a problem for 6 months, and never feeling my best. After that one day I can say that I HATE GREAT CLIPS. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. They have on severa occasions not done a good haircut but I go because it's close. Today was the final straw. In June I received a coupon to come back in July for a $6.99 haircut. They will not honor this coupon now until they move to their new facility. Are you kidding me! They won't even honor a coupon that they gave out. I will never ever go to this location or the new one. I will stick to Glen Ellyn or Villa Park read more

This review is specifically about Dominique. Lovely girl, very friendly. Listened to what I wanted and gave me the haircut I asked for. She didn't style it much (I think that's an extra charge,) but that's fine with me since I prefer to style my hair myself. Will return. She gave me coupons for their new location, but wasn't sure when that would be. read more

Wonderful stylist! Always very friendly! Wonderful haircuts! They moved to 432 S. Main St Lombard. Under new Management!

I've been to this place twice. The first time the woman totally screwed up my younger son's hair. He has long hair, which can be tough to get right on a boy so I gave it another chance with my older son who has short hair. WORST haircut he has ever gotten! Not only can they not cut hair, but the women in this place are just rude.. no personalities! They clearly don't know how to work with children and hardly say two words to you the whole time you're there. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

It was time to take my son for a haircut and it's always a hassle because like many boys he hates getting hair cuts. We went to great clips on a friends recommendation and was very pleased. Marina did a fabulous job not only cutting my sons hair but calming his nerves and helping him relax. By the end of his haircut he had a smile a mile wide and his hair looked great! Marina not only did a good job on his hair but turned the experience into something he looks forward to not dreads. She also did a wonderful job cutting my hair too. I can't wait to return to have her cut our hair again. This is defiantly our regular spot now. read more

If I could have a beauty license pulled it would be hers. Butchered just before a job interview. did exactly what iA said not to do. Back uneven even an inch difference very very uneven. My hair is so short it can't even be corrected. Never go there, read more

When you go to Great Clips, ask for the beautiful Marina! I usually wonder and worry how my haircuts will turn out in the end; but, Marina is knowledgeable with what she does and is really funny. You can spark up a conversation with her and time flies, before yah know it, she will be done with your great cut. She can hold a conversation and not get distracted or mess up. Superb job!! I'll be seeing her next time. :) read more

My two daughters and I have been going to this particular place for a few years now. It's a few blocks away and has extended hours. I've never had a problem before. Donna is good but there is this other stylist (Eastern European I think) who was incredibly rude, insensitive and stubborn. My 11 yr old daughter has dry scalp so she gets white flakes in her hair quite often. This stylist examined my daughters hair with a really disgusted look on her face and proceeded to tell her she had a ton of lice. I got up and examined my daughters head and I was so upset at how ridiculous her claim was! She pointed to the white flakes that were falling off my daughter head and with that same disgusted look kept saying it was lice. I assured her they weren't and even said we can wait for the other stylist if she didn't feel comfortable touching my daughters hair. She tells me "I know this is lice but whatever" and proceeded to try to cut my daughters hair. Really? How does a hair stylist not know the difference between dry scalp flakes and lice?!?!? I don't recommend this place now and if you do have to go there, see Donna only. Hope this helps. read more
