So I was just ejected from this location, told I was disgusting several times, and told never to return. I won't. Why? Out of concern for the health of my stylist I mentioned that I had been sick over the weekend and asked if they had a mask I could wear. In fact I no longer had any symptoms and they wouldn't have known anything if I hadn't volunteered the information. I was immediately ejected. I left without any resistance but was understandably upset at having my time wasted in this way. When I indicated they had just disincentivized me to ever mention it again in a future situation I was told never to come back and that I was disgusting...3 times. I acknowledge I responded with some less than polite words. I'm not perfect. Having acknowledged that...is there really any circumstance when it is appropriate for a customer to be told they are disgusting and never to return? I feel compelled to write a review after receiving compliments from patients, coworkers, strangers, and our daughter's daycare teachers on my haircut. I have wavy curly hair and they made a perfect "wash and go" style that is SO effortless for me and people say it looks like it could be "retro pin-up" hair. I am 42 years old and never in my life have I had more (and more emphatic) compliments on a haircut. Even back in modeling days 20 years ago. And saving time in my morning routine is priceless. So the woman who was cutting my hair (don't remember her name) was going on and on about her daughter's school yearbook photo and the error that went out with the printing and somehow during all of that she completely forgot my very simple and clear instructions, which were the SAME instructions that are saved on their computer file about me (they have one for each customer based on the previous cuts), and started SHAVING MY WHOLE HEAD!!! I look like an egg now! And of course once I put my glasses on to see what was happening, I saw the damage she had done and the manager came over and said basically there was nothing that could be done to fix it! So now I have this incredibly shitty haircut for 7-8 weeks until my hair can grow long enough for someone else to try and fix it. FUCK!! I have a job interview in 2 days and just needed my hair cleaned up a little before I go in. Do not get your hair cut here and DO NOT get your hair cut here if you wear glasses and can't see what's happening when they're cutting your hair until you put them back on! I took my two boys for haircuts and paid $53, including a generous tip, which the staff seemed to appreciate. Shortly after stepping out, I realized I had forgotten to use 2 coupons. When I returned to inquire about it, she said they couldn't apply in later or reverse the transactions after covid. I can speak with the General Manager. However, when I asked to speak with the GM, the staff member became extremely rude. She said she was overwhelmed and ended up yelling, "Just go, we don't need your business." I understand if the store has policies about coupon use and is firm about it, but there's no excuse for being disrespectful and unprofessional. This time I even said multiple times that my hair was uneven, but she completely ignored me saying it was "just the way my hair falls." I've been coming here for 7 years and the stylists are amazing. They are fast and accurate. They recently cut mine and my toddlers hair at the same time. It's hard to get in because the prices can't be beat. There is a line outside right at opening. You need to either get here right as they open or sign in on the app/website right away. read more

My first time here was amazing and cut exactly how I want. my second time I wanted my curtain bags trimmed, normally I don't let anyone but myself cut them, and I left with straight across bangs that were uneven. When I got home I noticed one side was 1" longer than the other! The other side was cut very unevenly. The worst haircut I've ever gotten anywhere. Came here on a Saturday to get my hair cut. Got in right away, and the stylist was chatty the whole time. At first impressions I liked the cut, but once I got home I realized the layers on either side of my face were uneven. Nothing that can't be hidden with a good side part, but not ideal. Price was great! What took it down to 3 you ask? The hair on the floor...and the vanity....and the chair...that wasn't mine. I get that they want to get through as many customers as possible and decrease wait time, but I'd gladly wait 5 minutes if it meant a clean work station. Took my little one in for a kids haircut today. Walked in at 9:15am. Greeted immediately and waited about 5 minutes to my kid into a seat. Kristina was great! She has been cutting hair for 14 years. Super friendly and did exactly as I asked. Went for a shoulder length bob with trimmed side bangs. I asked to start the length long and trim as needed on my child. Took less than 10 minutes total. $14 for a child haircut plus tip. This Great Clips is located in a plaza. Convenient to grocery shop (Aldi's & Hyvee), grab a bite to eat, or stop by Super Target. I will definitely be back to this clean and fast location. I usually go to level stylist salons for my hair, but I'm considering letting Kristina cut mine too. read more

One of the worst experiences at this great clips. Checked in online at 8:15, got there at around 8:30 pm, and the stylist (guy) kept making me feel guilty that I was keeping them late. Now, I'm a guy with fairly short hair, and my cut usually takes 10-15 minutes, leaving them with plenty of time to close up shop. I was out by 8:45. Further, the haircut was half-assed, using his hand to slap off hair from my neck, not looking for imperfections in the cut, and forcing me to call out issues in the cut. Do yourself a favor, hit up a different great clips or one of the other haircut shops close by. read more

After being open just a few days, Great Clips was working so hard to accommodate their customers! While difficult people complained about wait times and wearing masks while I was there, the staff was polite and were sincere in their efforts to make everyone's experience safe by following state and corporate policies during COVID-19 reopenings. Despite a long and challenging day, the woman who cut my hair was super nice and gave me a very good haircut in a very short amount of time. People - be VERY CAREFUL with your debit/charge cards here. They give themselves tips even when you don't authorize it. I purchased product, nothing else. I signed the debit card sale slip and crossed out the part to charge a tip. Lo and behold, what do I find while checking my bank statement later but a $2 tip on there - WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. I had no service, only purchased a lousy product. That's nothing worth a tip. I've written to corporate and intend to go into the shop and make a very public statement about this issue, and will be demanding a refund. I wouldn't advise anyone to use this shop. This is blatant theft, as I see it. I wonder how much money they make on this type of scam, hoping that people won't check their bank statements. read more

This place is awful. First of all I let a white lady with dreads cut my hair, which should have been my first red flag. Despite me repeatedly saying that I was growing my hair out on one side (keeping the other side buzzed) she cut it all off. over a year of hair growth, gone. I look horrible and I have to wait another YEAR to get back where I was. AWFUL, INCOMPETENT PEOPLE. She wasn't even apologetic, tried to blame it on me for not communicating. I literally had the worst customer experience of my entire life a couple days ago at the store. I walked in at about 8:15 p.m. I stood at the counter five minutes. Then I heard a towel dispenser so I assumed they would be coming out soon. I waited another 5 minutes before anything happened. At 10 minutes the door opens and somebody walks out of the bathroom and takes an immediate left into the back room. Three minutes go by and I realize she isn't coming out. So finally I said "anyone back there"? That is where the real fun begins. This girl comes out of the back with a complete look of death on her face and starts ripping into me for saying something. She says "I was in the back and was busy". And I said I know I've been standing here for 13 minutes. She then proceeded to tell me "I was in the bathroom you obviously saw me walk out". Which I replied that yes I did see her but didn't understand why she would not have taken a look in the front after being in the bathroom that long to see if anybody had walked in. At that point she started berating me saying not to give her attitude and my favorite line "don't roll your eyes at me". 13 minutes waiting and I am way out of line because I ask if anyone is coming up? At that point all I could say was "Are you f'ing kidding me that you are blaming me for not wanting to stand here for 13 minutes and then not get even a hint of an apology for the wait?" She then really went off on me saying how inappropriate I was for cussing. So at that point I turned around and walked out while I hear her continuing to berate me. After I walked out, I see her walk in the back room again to do more text messaging or whatever, once again leaving the front of those house completely empty. Totally crazy!! A dishonest person could have stole hundreds of dollars of product and or salon tools, tried to get in the cash, etc. But I patiently wait 13 minutes standing there only to be labeled as a jerk by this person. I have been in that store probably 50 times but they lost my business for good as long as she works there. read more
