I have been a customer of Great Clips, primarily the location on Louis Henna in Round Rock, for several years now and have never experienced this level of incompetence from a stylist in my life. I signed in online as usual and was seen as soon as I arrived, the stylist Cynthia took me back as soon as she cleaned her station. The first thing she said was "Do you want your hair cut by someone else?" I'm not sure why she asked but I quickly realized that she didn't want to cut my hair because she had NO IDEA what the heck she was doing. Throughout our conversation, she kept mentioning that before coming to Great Clips, she had her own salon for 30 years before moving to Elgin but she could not do a barbers cut. I'm not sure what a barbers cut is but if she can't do a regular fade from a no guard to finger length on top, she shouldn't be cutting hair. After butchering my hair, she asked the other stylist for her opinion. The other stylist had to correct some issues but my hair was already messed up beyond repair. I pointed out that there were lines in my hair but both stylists said "There aren't lines in your hair, it's just the lighting" pointing to several light bulbs that were out. I did not just walk out of that location, I RAN!!! I drove nearly an hour to the Great Clips on Hwy79 in Round Rock to fix my hair that evening. The stylist at that location pointed out that the hair on top of my head was not evenly cut and there were lines all over the sides of my head where they failed to fade my hair properly. She also pointed out that Cynthia faded so far up that she could not repair that part of my hair. I will NEVER set foot in this establishment again and I hope that Cynthia is fired or given more training. If you go to Great Clips in Elgin, DO NOT allow Cynthia to go anywhere near your hair. The most famous line that I heard from Cynthia is "Thank God for gel, it can cover up all of a stylists mistakes" WTF, Really? Is this the kind of stylist you want working for you? I paid for a haircut, wasted my time and gas to drive to another location to get it fixed by another stylist and STILL have to wear a hat till my hair grows out. I have been getting my haircuts at Great Clips for many years. I've experienced and expect decent haircuts at fair prices from Great Clips. I initially went to Great Clips in Manor and the credit card reader was down. Based on not being able to pay in cash, I went to the Elgin Great Clips for my 1st time. When entering, I was greeted by friendly staff, and immediately was checked in with Seth. Seth was very professional and polite. He gave me an excellent haircut, and I felt he took great care in doing his job. Although the Elgin location is 10 minutes further away then the Manor location, I plan to use them going forward. read more

Not impressed. The stylist drenched my head and didn't towel it off. Had a water ring around my shirt and my makeup ran. She patted my face which I didn't mind but if my hair was damp, not soaked we wouldn't have had a problem. She then proceeded to section my hair in the weirdest manner and cut half an inch- fine, I needed a trim anyway but she completely ignored what I wanted. I have been a customer of Shayla at Great Clips for almost a year, I was so impressed with her skills I followed her from Manor to Elgin. It is worth the smiles and admiration I get from my wife when she sees how I look once Shayla is done trimming my beard and cutting my hair. I have been going to this salon since the day they opened. Friday the 23rd was the first time Tiffany, the manager cut my hair. She has no personality, she makes you wait while she sweeps up, granted that might have been a good idea but not when you a multiple clients waiting. She cut the girl ahead of me hair way too short. My cut was fine;however, she stabbed me with the scissors!!!! No apology, just "oh did i get you." She was the only one there on a Friday afternoon. Big mistake, she was telling people there was a 45 minute wait. One man decided to leave. While cutting my hair she was bad mouthing the girl ahead of me, because the girl was upset. She told me that she knew when other stylists were't a good fit, that's why the good ones are gone. She is the bad fit. And owners, she really didn't speakly highly of you either. And once again the credit card machine wasnt working. She asked if i had cash. I checked, i only had ten dollars. She told me she would only charge me 9 because the cc machine wasnt working. Worst hair cut I have ever gotten - and I am 63. After discussing what I wanted, the beautician 'did her own thing.' Very short - will take a very long time for my hair to grow out to where I can do anything different with it. What I wanted, and what I got were VERY far apart! And I have about 10 hairs at the very front on each side that are an inch longer than the rest of my hair. Why, I don't know. Awful. read more

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!! I, nor my family, will NEVER go to a Great Clips location for hair cuts again!!! The manager at the Elgin, TX location is the absolute rudest person I have encountered that runs a customer service based business. I had a week old expired coupon, and when I checked in I asked the lady, who was also the lady that ended up cutting my hair, if they would still honor the coupon and she told me yes. Then went I went to pay and provided her the coupon, she said they could not take it because it would not scan into the system. I asked her why then did she tell me that they would honor it. She took it over to the manager, who was standing right there at the first booth by the register cutting another customers hair, and the manager said that no they would not take it. When I told her that her employee said that they would honor it when I first checked in, she said she did not care, that she was the manager and she was not going to honor the coupon. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THEY WAY YOU OPERATE A CUSTOMER SERVICE BASED BUSINESS!!!!!!!!! read more
