Long story short, I asked for a toner to fix the warmth on my blond job plus a trim, received PARTIAL HIGHLIGHTS in a chunky Avril Lavigne red and was charged approx $400 before tip. Kevin was visibly uncomfortable but didn't offer to fix anything. Didn't even realize how bad he was until I went to get it fixed at a better salon and was charged $190 for the toner I wanted and a more drastic cut that took twice as long (Kevin's color faded after a week and I decided to cut my loses). Don't waist your time or money.

Told the barber I…read moreonly wanted a fade on the sides and a trim on top and mentioned that my hair is naturally straight and that it was permed. Made it clear to him that I didn't want to cut my perm completely out, just trim the ends. Walked out with half my hair gone and almost completely straight hair! Also had cuts and scrapes on almost every side of my head! Very disappointed!

So, I was debating whether to leave a review of not and I've decided someone needs to be help…read moreaccountable for the fact that I'll be wearing my hair in a messy bun for two months MINIMUM. I went in to get a haircut from Ruby I think was her name. It was a short style (shortest I've ever had it) with some light layers. Basically what ended up happening was one side turned out okay but the other side looks like she was attempting to give be bangs (which I did not want) then took the length I wanted divided it into two and chopped off a HUGE chunk of my hair. No layering, just a hard cut. Now, I'm pretty optimistic about hair being fixable, but this is not fixable. The bottom layer is so thin and the top is about 3x as thick. I have two options to "fix" it, a) a bowl cut, or b) get a pixie cut - neither of which I want. So instead, I'm googling ways to make my hair grow faster and avoiding mirrors so I don't cry when I look at my hair. (Yes it is that bad).

Now the long story: So I'm that person that has no idea what kind of haircut I want or how to even begin trying to describe how I want my hair cut. I went in today as we do when our hair gets too long, and had the pleasure of Tashia cutting my hair. She listened to what I wanted and told me some recommendations to make what I wanted look good on me (which was greatly appreciated because oh boy I had no idea). One of the little things I loved was when I asked her to take a little off the top -get this- she only took a little bit off instead of the general 2-3 inches I've had happen at multiple other places. She is fantastic with cutting, styling, and being knowledgable about dyed hair, different styles, and little conversations to avoid awkward silences. I am/have already told my friends that's where they need to go for now on if they want to get a great haircut for a great price.

She did a great consult, listened, and made sure I was happy with the finished cut and color. She also did a great job with my brows! The salon is in a remodeled older house with beautiful natural light and big windows. I felt like I was at somebody's home, having a chat, and getting dolled up. It was wonderful after a year of "pandemic chic" hairstyle! Sarah and the staff there were great with COVID safety precautions. I waited outside until my turn and got the text to go in. Once inside, we all wore masks the entire time, and staff kept areas sanitized and clean. Parking is around back and street side as well. Side note: The shop is conveniently located close to some of my favorite food stops too - so girl's day out to pamper myself was a resounding success!

Teresa Saputo has been my hair dresser since I moved to St. Louis and what a fabulous job she does!…read moreEvery visit begins with a pre-shampoo consultation and a scalp and shoulder massage with aromatic oils that is absolutely heavenly. She is a stylist that listens and always goes the extra mile at your request. I have only ever had my hair cut there as I do not color my hair, but I highly recommend her fine work! She also happens to do fabulous brow waxes. Teresa charges $40 for women's cuts and $34 for men's... well worth the money. I always tip generously. I've paid much more for cuts that were vastly inferior. I feel comfortable telling her when something isn't right with the way she's styled my hair, or if I'd like her to do something more. I also brought my boyfriend all the way from Milwaukee because I knew (rightly so) that she'd cut his hair better than all of the people who I've seen cut his hair before. I also felt ok about being the 'bossy girlfriend' describing how he likes his haircut (to make up for his inability to do so) The shop itself is cozy and small, employing just two stylists, Teresa and Kelly. They offer off-menu chair massages for up to 15 minutes at a dollar a minute-- a really nice addition to a hair service. I don't typically have $60 to throw at a full body massage so this is a nice alternative. Check this place out!

Pretty crazy, eh? I've been getting my haircut from Sherry probably for around 10-12 years. She's been cutting my hair for so long she knows me better than most my friends! I love coming to her because she knows exactly what I want and it only takes about 20 minutes. If you are looking to go somewhere new I would highly recommend Hair Solutions. Pretty much everyone in my immediate family goes to Sherry and loves it. Maybe sometime I will run into Beth B!

His haircut was $14. Sitting on the sidelines I can see about 9 or more stations with many stylists to choose from. Don't think this is an asian only place based on the name of the salon, because sitting inside I saw each stylist had their own clientelle, and all nationalities and ages are welcome. The store without navigation can be hard to see your first time, it is across the street from a car sales lot and next to grocery mini mart, semidiagonally from CVS.
