Went to the same hair cutter at the Antelope location two haircuts in a row. Pleasant lady who is hard of hearing. First time when trimming my neck it felt like my skin was getting cut. Then today she actually nipped my ear and drew blood. The problem is she is using an old cutter and/or old cutter blades and when they get old they can easily cut the skin. I have brought my kids to this location several times and never had an issue, everyone has always been extremely patient and accommodating. I just brought in my 2 year old and he was verbally adamant about not having a haircut. However I said once she puts the drape on and starts the clippers he will stop, he does this every single time. And if he didn't at that point I would never make her cut his hair. But let's remember he's TWO, accommodations and patience (and personality) go a long way. She informed me "I don't want to fight him, I really don't I have sharp tools" which I understand fully, I wouldn't ask her to fight him, but she never turned the clippers on or really tried what I told her made him stop every single time. Literally as soon as he hears the clippers he holds still and watches in the mirror. Short version: from a mom experienced with bringing her toddler into the salon and literally never having a problem after starting, I am sure that Hailey is great with adults that do directly as she says, but I would avoid her for childrens cuts as she has no interest in working with them. I wish I could give less than one star. I came in Saturday 1/27/24. The place was very busy. I got called back by a gentleman with long hair. I told him I brush my hair back and I like it short on top. He does my cut with shaky hands then when he gets just about done he asks do you brush your hair to the side or to the front. I told him I let him know at the beginning I brush it back.his exact statement was " I'm so sorry "like he knew he messed up and couldn't fix it.( listening skills may not be a strong skill). So I paid and left when I got a chance to look at my hair. My side burns were un even, the hair on the sides was uneven, the back was un even. It's probably the worst hair cut I didn't give to myself.went back to have my hair fixed figured the manager (red haired older lady) would actually give a f***. No luck there. She turned to a younger woman and told her to fix it and mentioned not to charge me. My opinion it must have looked like I did it to myself. My tip for any client is use the Great Clips App to Check in when you are on your way. It is so easy to use and gives you an approx wait time to get your place in line. I am very finicky about my hair, and I have thick hair alittle more on one side of my head then the other so in the past I never knew if the stylist would do my hair correctly. I came in a few years ago to Great clips and Laurel helped fix my hair from a bad cut from another store and the rest is history. I have been coming to her for years now. My hairstylist is the bomb, She is very friendly, knowledgeable and caring. Laurel will listen to what you want and give you a great cut. They must not require and pre interview hair cut, to see if the new employees are up to standard. A new guy, someone I had not seen before , and did not catch their name , was the only hairstylist available when I arrived unfortunately. He proceeded to act like he did not know what he was doing, cutting my hair at a snails pace, with absolutely no skill what so ever! I felt like a 5 year old was trying to cut my hair...SCARY!until I literally had to get up and tell him to stop,s something I have never done before.. I should of known after looking at his filthy station; with antique/junk equipment before I sat in his chair.. Luckily Kayla(miracle worker)! I apologize if I miss-spelled or got it wrong, came to my rescue. She literally took it upon herself, while apologizing for the other persons shabby work.. She took what remained of my butchered hair, and worked her magic! The end product was much better than I ever imagined, not perfect, but about as close as it could be compared to what she started with. From now on I will request her, and wait patiently u til she is available. Thanks Kayla, I appreciate that you tried your best to make the situation better. I came in today for my usual haircut a fade and a line up I left in literal tears , the woman cutting my hair took my line up straight to my long hair even cut some long hair to make it "straight" , this absolutely ruined my hair and appearance. I was devastated because I had a work meeting I had to attend an hour later with my hair a disaster. I did not pay for the haircut as I was very unhappy with how it turned out . My hair will look like this for Christmas and new years so I highly suggest to be very specific when going here because they dont understand what a line up is . I have been a loyal client to this great clip location for 10+ years. Everyone here is super nice. I always had great haircut until today. My stylist name is Amy. Never had her cut my hair before. But I was desperate because I had an event to go to tomorrow. I usually see my girls Kayla and Sherry. But kayla just moved out of state and Sherry was off. Anyways I told Amy that I have psoriasis on my head so please go easy with the clippers. This was the most painful and uncomfortable hair cut I ever had in my life. She literally was stabbing me with the comb and clippers. I told her please be careful maybe times because my psoriasis is flaking off and it's starting to hurt. She told me I had a lot of dandruffs and I told her once again it's psoriasis and you're starting to irritate my spots. I told her I only want to take off a half an inch on the top but she cut off about an inch and a half and it is very uneven (see pics). I was boiling at this point and wanted to leave the chair. She wanted to cut more on the top but I said please don't, it's fine. I got home and had to fix my haircut. Thank god I know how to cut hair. Lol. And couple of my psoriasis was bleeding. I will be going back just cause I love how Sherry cuts my hair but never having Amy cut my hair again. She's a type of stylist that if you tell her something is wrong it your fault and she's right. read more

I have been a customer of Great Clips for 10 years or more. I travel across America for work. This past Thursday I popped into GC Antelope. I have been here two times before and were always quite satisfied. THIS most recent visit I was assigned to a stylist I had not seen before. Her name was Marivel. She really did an amazing job on my difficult hair style requests, she was easy to talk to, she was professional, yet she socially engaged in discussions with me as if we had known each other for years in a Client-Merchant connection. I love this Great Clips Store on Antelope Rd. All their employees are great. But I want to point out Marivel is an amazing member of this store and I think I have found my exclusive GO-TO Stylist in Marivel, and I think I will start to now go ONLY to the Antelope Store. I want start off by saying the stylist/barber that cut my hair was very polite and sweet. I normally go to a barber shop for my main haircut and have great clips do the in between maintenance. I normally have only 2 of the ladies in there cut my hair and after today I know why. Today was the first day I've walked out of getting my hair cut and have had less confidence when I walked in in a long time. I showed the barber the same picture I show everybody who cuts my hair. I do this so nothing gets misinterpreted. Today I received a haircut furthest thing from the picture. When I walked in I knew in my gut that I wasn't going to be happy. I'm not writing this to bash the establishment or the barber but for a friendly reminder to the customer go with your gut. I would give this a ZERO if it allowed me. I went to take my son (5 years old) to get his hair cut. The "manager" Devon Frazier (not sure of spelling) said that we must wear a mask. I stated we have medical conditions and are not required. She stated we could not be served. I have had my sons hair cut here before recently and the previous manager respected our medical condition but this ridiculous manager felt that she did not need to. Lionel did a great job cleaning up my curly no-haircut-in-a-year-because-of-Covid hair. My hair grows unevenly and was a mess. I moved to the area right before Covid and didn't establish a new stylist so I just let it go. I needed a cleanup so I went in without an appointment just wanting to cut off the ends and even it out. I always check in on line for shorter waiting time and today was no exception. They took my son in right away. I'm very happy with their service, hair cuts and no issues at all so far. If my son Is happy I'm happy. There's only one time where I had a little problem after I Checked In. Had to wait about 5-10 min but besides that they've been great. I also buy the hair gel at GC since it has no chemicals or Paraben and it's natural. But it's a little pricey! They also honored my expired Great Clips coupon. How awesome is that! Excellent service. This location is horrendous from the management to the actual store. My boyfriend comes to this location because Lionel always does a great job on his hair, however the last time I came in with him i was treated like garbage. I walked in after my boyfriend to sit in their waiting area while he was getting a hair cut, the manager Im assuming asks me if I have a mask I said no I don't if you can give me one I'll put it on not a problem but then she asks if I'm getting a haircut I said no I'm waiting on someone so she can't give me a 10¢ mask lol even though I'm waiting for my boyfriend, and this is the best part miss manager didn't even have her mask over her nose what's the point of enforcing a mask mandate if you yourself can't even follow?!? It was clear she was being discriminatory towards me. Hit or miss...depends on who you get. I usually go here and always get the same hair cut, a blunt chop straight across the back and a steep face frame. Usually works out fine. I told the lady today twice not to curve it to the side too much, I just want a gentle frame. I even made a hand gesture, but she butchered it and did exactly what I asked her not to do. Just chopped the crap out of it sideways. Did one side....then she asked how I liked it. I tried to be nice but omg it was so bad, then she went and got someone else to do the other side and to try to fix the side she had already done. I basically have a diff hair cut on either side, and it is so uneven..... the left side is like an inch and a half longer then the right. It didnt match at all. Really shoddy work. The 2nd lady did a good job, but she just couldnt salvage the damage that was already done. I voiced my concerns and it was obviously not very good, (I mean she had to go get help) but they didnt even apologize or anything. I just paid and left....dont feel confident enough in their skills to try and go back and have them fix it....I'm afraid itll end up even worse. I'm just gonna go somewhere else and pay again to have it fixed. They were nice! But I have a really bad haircut. Think I'll find somewhere new to get my haircuts from here on out. They get 2 stars because I've gotten some good haircuts from other people in the past here. read more
