I'm surprised to read so many negative reviews. I started coming here a little over a year ago after leaving another place that I went for quite a while that went downhill. I have been treated so well here by all staff members, and the haircuts have always been quite good. Myself and my two boys get our stuff done here and they do exactly how I ask every time never anything crazy and they're always very patient. My only advice would be to make sure you check in online because it can go from nobody to 20 people on their waitlist pretty quickly. read more

I would not recommend that barber. It seems as if they are fresh out of training with little to no over site. This time they managed to cut my ear twice due to negligence. She just did not seem to want to put any effort in. Then she tried to stop the bleeding by using a tissue, putting it on her counter and then using the same tissue multiple times. When done, she threw the bloody tissue away in the front can ban the register, never properly cleaning her counter before moving on to the next customer. The fault is at least somewhat with me for going to a chain business like this. I will be keeping with Cirpiani's I guess. read more

I REGRET GETTING A HAIRCUT TODAY Usually have a good experience in Reno Great Clips though today proved that to be wrong. Had the unpleasant pleasure of having Sarah as my stylist. As soon as I sat in the chair I immediately felt like I was interrupting Sarah's time as she had no costumer service and a huge annoyed attitude with her. I wanted to leave but it was too late because she started to hack and slash at my hair. Once my hair was completed by her standards I was left with a choppy uneven mess. The entire tome it felt like she gave zero shits about me as a costumer and her job in general. I would not recommend a haircut from Sarah. Would give zero stars if I could my mother got her hair trimmed today and when she got home it was totally uneven looked ridiculous. So she drives back about 20 mins one way and the manager Acknowledge it was crooked and did "fix" it by teller her she should wash and blow it out that might help.... she never even apologized for the inconvenience and the fact that she walked around most the day like that. Very unpleasant experience at Great Clips on 3250 Retail Dr., Carson City. I went to great clips this morning hoping for a hair cut and some friendly enter action, but instead got greeted with a stylist who had a huge chip on her shoulder! Rude, rude and more rude was the vibe given to me. I don't know what her problem was but working in service means you not only do your job but you do it with pleasantry. I did not get her name but she was the only one with pink hair, tattoos and black rim glasses. I walked in and thought, wow she is pretty cool until she opened her mouth! Way to make a BAD first impression. I hope other people are not treated this bad, and if they are they post to let others know this Great Clips needs to put their employees in check as they service the public. Yucky experience here. I took my daughter ( 6 years old)in for her first haircut in over a year ( 12inches or more) cut off, and from the moment we walked in the staffs attitudes were cold and short. Absolutely no good customer service. After paying we walked out to the car and I noticed my daughters hair was SO strangely and uneven. We came back in for a clean up and the stylist argued with me a little until I finally spoke loud and told her the cut was BAD. She then cleaned it up and as we left I said "thank you" with no response from her. This was an exciting day for my daughter and the stylist did not say one word to her the entire time!!! We will never return here, the environment is too unfriendly and I regret ever taking my daughter there. When people pay for a service the least the stylist can do is be a little friendly. Awful, awful experience. First of all, I scheduled an appointment over a week ago....still waiting for the text. I reschedule and went today. I'm sitting outside waiting and the hairdresser calls someone else when I was next up. My haircut is awful, uneven, and chopped up. Never again! went in with shoulder length hair wanted it cut to jaw line. Showed her a picture. Told her I wanted the top a little shorter and long layers. The top of my hair is now 3" , the back is in short layers except the bottom which is about 3" longer than the rest. Sides are the same. I look like I have hairy dog ears hanging down. She went crazy with the thinning shears. I have curley hair. now I have a huge fuzz ball on my head to boot. Don't think it can be fixed unless I get my hair cut into a 1970 Shagg hair cut. She was nice, did exactly what I wanted, and gave me advice that was helpful and fit my style. I used to come here to get a haircut. Jennifer was always my hair cutter. She wasnt there today, infact a girl helped me. At first i was not sure to have her. I told her i always have number 4. All she did was making my whole hair lenght to be number 4, no style whatsoever and on top of that she chopped my spike flat even with the rest of the hair. So I am at great clips. I usually have a very pleasant experience. The ladies in here are usually really nice and take the time to hear what kind of creation they can cut. I imagine that could be very frustrating. The lady I usually use was busy and I'm not picky so we went with who ever. Today, I was greeted by Alisha. And she was very rude. She cut me off while trying to explain the cut we were after for my son. We wanted an "Air Force cut" but she didn't understand and compared it to a high and tight. I was trying to explain that it's mostly the same except the length in the top. But she wasn't having it. She was pushy and abrupt and rude. Had she not already begun, we would have walked out. She's cutting my sons hair with barely any instruction and she quickly excused me from the side of my son while I was about to ask him if he agreed with the kind of cut. I've gotten my hair cut at great clips three times prior to today and they did a good job on my hair those three times. Today just wasn't their day I guess. I went in and was seated by an older woman that works there, kinda has a deep voice. She told me that the last three haircuts I got were a 6 and a 6. I told her I wanted that same haircut just a little bit longer. She asked if I wanted to try a seven and I said sure. She shaved some hair off the side with the seven and asked if that looked short enough on top. I told her that I didn't really know how that would translate to my top (didn't know she was gonna buzz me..) and basically reiterated what I said before. Just give me the same haircut I always get, just a little longer. So I told her that if I got a 6 and a 6 last time, to just give me a seven and a seven. She then proceeds to buzz my head. Now when I got a 6 and a 6 (according to them at least) my bangs came about half way down my forehead and the sides were a little bit longer. After she buzzed my top and I realized that my haircut had been ruined she went on to tell me that I had gotten a 6 and a 6 every other time. I don't know whose fault this was exactly. I now know that I never got a 6 and a 6, there's just no way. My hair is way too short at 7 and 7 so there's no way I ever got a 6 and a 6. So maybe it was whoever put the information in there that messed it up for the woman who cut my hair. The girl who cut my hair before and did a good job was actually there and told the woman what she did wrong. I don't know if the woman just didn't read the additional information that might have been there, or if the girl who cut my hair the first time didn't include the necessary information to give me the haircut I always got. What I thought was a very very easy to understand concept of giving me the same damn haircut, just leaving it a little longer turned into the exact opposite. This is a really annoying problem for me too because when my hair is really short it sticks out on the sides and looks really dorky. So when I said I wanted it a little longer than last time that was so my hair wouldn't stick out so much. Now I have to go through that annoying process again.. Hooray for looking like a dork.
