Started spring of 2016 by James Wronowski a top Ft. Lauderdale colorist and stylist who seems to like the more laid back attitude of our Northern Florida beach communities. So we get a top level hair salon for the price of a cut rate corporate salon. Better take advantage of it while you can. Stop by, make him feel welcome and tell James that Kris sent you! Initially I had asked for Gina, based on reviews, but she was booked and suggested Grace, so glad she did! I'm from Pennsylvania but have moved around a lot, even outside the States, I consider myself 'high maintenance' highlights, lowlights (foil) and naturally curly hair. Grace was awesome, I explained exactly what I wanted done, she asked lots of questions and the result...I love my hair!! Color and cut awesome, price very reasonable which allows for a nice tip :) This was an awesome find for me, relaxed, comfortable and fun atmosphere, and reasonable pricing. I've already booked my next appointment!

Hubby has been here twice to get his hair cut and I cannot recommend the place at all…read more I can't recall the name of the older lady who cut his hair, but he gets it cut very short... basically a military style. I'm not barber or cosmetologist, but I'm thinking this is not a definitely hairstyle. However, my daughter IS a cosmetologist (in another state) and she informs me his style is most definitely not difficult to perform. Anyway, both times he came here, he came home with stray/uneven hairs all over his head. So I'm not sure if the poor lady just can't see, or if she needs to sharpen her clippers or just buy new ones. I did notice both time a couple of the other men in there were much older (like 60 and above) and they barely had any hair. So maybe if you're older and balding this is an ok place to come. However, if you're a man with a full head of hair, head over to King Street Barber in Riverside and see Leslie. As for women, after see what she did to my husbands hair, there's no way in hell I'd let her touch mine!!!!

There is one station available for manicures & pedicures. The salon is somewhat small and almost cramped, should they grow any larger. Its clean and organized as well as space permits. It seems that each stylist is responsible for greeting their own clients. Walk in guests may be overlooked in less you get the attention of stylist nearby. The front area has seating & look books available also, They have several styles & colors of wigs available. Occasionally there are gift boxes & products placed for purchase. These stylists seem to have various hours & appear to work only by appointment.

The cost of the cuts are definitely more expensive than Walmart cuts but you are getting a higher quality experience too, plus (hopefully) a much better haircut! I've paid more than this for worse cuts so I was happy with the price (about $40). It was nice of them to throw in a sample of their Aveda cherry conditioner. I'll definitely be coming back here - the only way to increase this to 5 stars would be if I could leave the salon highly satisfied, rather than needing a few weeks for my hair to reach the desired length!

The desk person said she had a no-show for the appointment but couldn't accommodate us. I asked if she could fit my 6 year old in for a quick "buzz-cut". I was given a condescending look and asked what a buzz cut was (seemed like a reasonable term, given that it was a hair salon). I explained and she told me then that she knew what a buzz cut was. The negative attitude seemed unnecessary but it reminded me that I would prefer to support other businesses on the island that appreciate my patronage and are willing to show basic courtesy. I hope other people's experience is more positive than mine.

The salon has a great, laid back atmosphere…read more Go here. Get your hair cut by Carol. She is a hair artist. Seriously. I had years of horrible experiences getting my hair cut. I have a ton of thick hair that can be insane. A lot of people never knew how to cut it correctly, and majority of my hair cuts ended in tears... Until, I met Carol. She started cutting my hair in 2003 and I never let another person touch it. She really takes her time and will not give you a cut that looks bad on you. I trust her with my hair explicitly. And, I cannot stress how anal I am about who I let touch my hair. But, with Carol I can just go and give her a really vague idea about what I think, and I let her take it from there. I've never been less than ecstatic about every haircut she's ever given me. Even when I moved to Tallahassee to go to FSU, I came back for Carol's haircuts. Recently, I relocated to Chicago and realized it would no longer be practical to travel to Jax for my haircuts. However, every time I am back in Florida I guarantee I will be scheduling an appointment with her. She really is the best.
