The specific Great Clips employee worked at the 2nd station in the store on the left. I understand her name may be Andrea and has a dark colored tattoo on the back of her neck. The incident occurred in the early afternoon 2/03/2025 at the Belleville Crossing store in Belleville, IL. Andrea displayed an apathetic attitude towards two Hispanic males. One spoke some English but was not able to translate English to Spanish for his companion. The other young man named Oliver did not speak any English. Andrea displayed impatience and appeared exasperated because the client did not understand English. She was speaking loudly at the front desk. Oliver was calm and tried to answer Andrea's questions but could not. Andrea continued to ask Oliver what his last name was. She repeatedly asked him the same thing. Finally giving him a pen and note and managed to get him to understand she wanted his last name. Andre then turned around facing the other hairdressers, "Does anybody here speak Spanish?" In a very condescending and loud voice and without a smile. Of course the waiting area had several clients sitting there and heard your employee continue to rant about " Who speaks Spanish?" Once the woman understood her behavior was inappropriate, she would not cut the young man's hair although he remained patiently waiting for someone to cut his hair. Andrea continued to cut other clients hair. I asked the hairdresser ( Valerie) I was waiting for to please cut the non English-speaking young man 's hair ahead of me. I was astonished and very ashamed of the Great Clip's employee rudeness and insensitivity. When both young men left the salon, they thanked me. I am not Andrea's supervisor but do have some general suggestions that could benefit her and other employees: 1. Perhaps Andrea may be placed on probation for her unacceptable public behavior until she completes education for cultural diversity, cultural sensitivity, and the importance of cultural understanding education. 2. I also suggest a translation app be available to all Great Clip employees. 3. Another intervention is a helpful translation folder with common phrases used or asked by hairdressers in Spanish for the salon. 4.Lastly, a mandatory cultural diversity and cultural sensitivity training and the importance of cultural understanding should be initiated immediately in the franchised stores. I've been going here for several years and got the same haircut. So the gal cutting my hair said I pulled what they did last time from the computer. I reinterated what I got layered all the way around to starting from the hairline. She yes that's what the computer says then said pixy cut medium number 4. Which didn't sound right I repeated myself and she said sure.now I'm blind without my glasses so when I took them off I was at her mercy. She butchered my hair! Looks like a boy's cut. I've got a fat face I need the hair to flip out to hide it ;) Totally disgusted. She says well "that's what the computer says." I told her I had a picture but she was in such a rush ..she then blames me... "Should have shown the picture." Then as if she was doing me a favor she says no charge. Well my mom was also getting a cut and paying using a coupon for mine. She would not apply it to her cut. They kept making excuses and blaming me for their errors which made matters worse. They wanted me out of there because of course they had more customers waiting and I admit I was making sure everyone there knew about the problem. I was so fuming I went got the picture and came back in and told them to put the correct notes on my file. Not that I'll go back. Thought they had a policy of satisfaction guaranteed or they'd fix it ..nope just that they won't charge you for their assault on your person. This is by far the worst haircut I've ever gotten. I came in with my hair around a foot in length all around. I told the woman (Melanie) that I just wanted the back to be cut an inch or two and the rest just to be trimmed to get off the dead ends. The first thing she does is grab huge chunks of my bangs (several inches) and cuts them off. The cut was uneven so she had to go back repeatedly, making it shorter and shorter in an attempt to make it even. That never happened. She did this for my entire head, to the point where I'm sure she just gave up, because she cut nearly 6 inches off of my hair, more in the back, and it looks like a choppy mess. Not only did she not listen to what I wanted, the actual haircut looks like a toddler was given scissors. Terrible. Would never go back to this place for a haircut. read more

I honestly wish there was a zero star option. It might have just been the woman who cut my hair but it is now botched. I have to get it fixed. I have had shoulder length hair all through highschool so the past few years i have been growing it out. I asked for as little off as possible but get rid of the dead ends. I also wanted to keep the soft layers i had. Now one side of my hair has like a slight layer which looks great. The otherside however looks like i got a bob in front 3 inches and choppily moves down to my full length. I stated when it was not so bad that the layers on one side looked choppy. I should have left it because she took several more inches off that side to "blend" and made the situation 10x worse. She never touched the other side again to make them even. I wish I could put a zero instead of 1 Star. The service was absolutely terrible. My boyfriend walked in and asked to get a hair cut. A 3 level shave on the back and sides, a 5 on the top. 1. The lady started telling him what he should get 2. She didn't do what he wanted 3. On side of his hair is cut in more then the other 4. The bottom part of his hair in the back is cut way to short 5. All of the ladies where sitting around talking, which then distracted the lady cutting his hair 6. She was hecka slow 7. Instead of blowing away the hair, she blew it right down his back into his shirt 8. She never asked him how he wanted the side burns 9. Didn't listen when he said to cut one spot and she cut another. Went for a simple hair cut. It was messed up horribly. The stylist was extremely kind, how ever the assistant manager I had spoken with was extremely rude. The two stars are for the kindness of the stylist & it was a very clean salon. Other than that they do not deserve anymore stars. read more
