I've always had a fantastic experience here! I never usually had a preference for a hairdresser until I had Lacey! This is the third time I've asked for her whenever I come in for my haircuts! She's great and fun to talk to! Super patient and will walk you through on what she's doing to your hair. She's also very reassuring saying you can always go shorter and just take it an inch at a time. I will always enjoy her company and continue requesting her to be my hairdresser hehe. They also recently renovated! I walked in and thought I was in the wrong place but no! I love how open the space is! In terms of check-in, I probably waited for about 10 minutes? It's not quite a 3 nor a 2 star, more of a 2.5. The thing about places like Great Clips is that even though your info is supposed to be stored in their system, the haircuts are always a hit and miss. They are usually never consistent! The customer service is usually good, the establishment is clean, but unfortunately, they don't measure up to work of barbers. Do they go to the same schools? Do they get the same amount of training? I don't know, but I still have to pay the same, (more if you count the tip), for a haircut that may or may not be embarrassing for my boys to have. Luckily, my little one isn't too picky yet, & he can't see the unevenness at his back of his neck. They might have convinced me not to return. It's hit and miss. If you're lucky and get a good stylist, the cut is pretty good. Especially Danielle, and the nice Asian lady. The skinny older blonde though is terrible. More concerned about her associates supposed stalker than her customers. She gave me a terrible, and uneven cut this last time, and over charged me too. I made her fix that part. I gave her a 20% tip, which isn't huge, but I even regret that now. I'll try the new shop at the Marketplace. Hope it's better there, and no hot sun to make you sweat while waiting. I decided to stop by here because my regular barber shop was closed. Although there was no one else waiting, it still took about 15 minutes before I was called. Some one had checked in online for reservations, and I was just a "walk-in". So I had to wait awhile. Next time, I'll have to call ahead. The girl who cut my hair did a very nice job. My wife said that it was better than any haircut I got at my regular barbershop. Guess, I'll be coming back here from now on. Got to make my wife happy! read more

Knocking out my hair salon reviews today all in one swoop. Just dropped a 3-star review on a spot down in Santa Monica. In Bakersfield, my other home, this is my spot, and when you combine coupons, specials, and the customer service, this Great Clips does a splendid job. Recently remodeled, it looks very nice inside. Smells like a hair salon (a mixture of hair products), and by using the Great Clips app, I got into a seat for a cut in 10 minutes even during busy hours. I use a different person every time, and they've all been friendly and worked hard to make sure I looked good, despite how often I act like a buffoon and wait 3 months between cuts. Solid 4-star establishment, maybe even a 4.2 if I could add some tenths of a point. read more

Best advice I can give when coming here is check in online before driving over. It'll cut your wait time considerably. I didn't do that recently and had to wait about 20 minutes for service. The actual service was professional and quick. I like my haircut and would go back to this location when it is convenient for me. A plus: recently they've been offering a haircut for $9.99 on the back of the receipts I get from Vons and Albertsons in the Northwest of Bakersfield. Score!! read more

Wow, simply amazing the staff are super nice! Took my kids last night before they closed and they did a wonderful job on my daughters haircut. Took 6 inches off and made it look fabulous not like some other places, other places seem to not know what there doing sometimes (supercuts) *cough*. My son is always picky when it comes to haircuts. This was are last and only resort before everyone was officially closed for Sunday. Great clips is what is says "GREAT". Reminder for people waiting for cuts, stay in the waiting area. Checked in online as always. Walked in and wasn't greeted. Two of the girls had the rudest faces and just started asking a bunch of personal info such as address, phone number names over and over. The whole lobby was listening and I made sure to say we go there all the time. There was no communication or sorry about why they were having the issue. I was annoyed because everyone knew my info. Best experience from a chain hair salon. we had Alissa. She was great with my 9 year old who is very apprehensive when it comes to her long hair. Some places like to charge me extra for my daughter's hair because it's not like regular kid hair. It's super long and thick but I was happy when they charged the amount posted for her haircut. i came for a mens haircut. my hair is longer, to my ears and curly. i asked her to trim my hair, 2 on the side 3 or 4 on the top. she buzzed half of my head then asked if that was too short. it was extremely short. Won't be back unfortunately. I was hoping to make this my new salon in Rosedale that's in Bakersfield, CA since I moved and the location worked well for me and I have liked Great Clips in the past, like when I used to go to the one in Stockdale that's also in Bakersfield, CA. The lady with the burgundy hair never smiled and not very friendly (maybe manager, she didn't say her name or give me a card) gave me the trim I needed but took about 5" more off than I asked for. I was offered some shampoo and she kept telling me they had the small bottle and I was thinking to myself I am due for some shampoo and conditioner so when checking out I was shown the small shampoo only but I noticed they had a large size and matching conditioner as well so I bought the large shampoo and conditioner and gave a $5 tip for the trim and after I paid she said right in front of everyone, 'Next time don't wait until your hair is so stringy' and I was embarrassed. To be honest, even though it had been a bit longer since my last trim due to the Covid-19 pandemic, my hair really wasn't that stringy because I had trimmed it myself. Anyways, I thought the insulting comment was uncalled for and not very professional so I'll just have to keep looking. read more

This is the place we go to get haircuts when we are on the west side of town. Last time we were in, husband went in and no one was waiting. They called him right back and he was done in a matter of 15 minutes. When we go with our two boys, they do so well with them as well. This is especially true with our youngest who has a difficult time with haircuts. Even when we have gone in during a busier time, they always seem to move fast and get to us in a timely manner. The salon is clean and the products are well stocked. My sons favorite part of the haircut is the sucker he gets after his haircut. read more
