We were in the area and thought we'd give it a try for lunch. I ordered the special, a prime rib dip sandwich. The au jus was excellent, the meat tender. My only negative is I can't stand mushrooms and that was not mentioned. Other than that, service was great, food was good. The dinner menu looked pretty good as well.

This place is so bomb! The bruschetta appetizer is like nothing I've ever tasted before. They put a light layer of herbed cream cheese on the baguette slice, with layers of tomato, bacon bits, parmesan flakes and a balsamic reduction on top. The flavors are amazing and work so well together! I highly recommend trying it. My second favorite thing was the sun dried tomato salad with the balsamic dressing. They are not stingy with the feta, bacon, and tomatoes on top. The turkey pesto was also delicious! Emilee was our server and she was so sweet and attentive the whole time! She made sure we had everything we needed. Great service, great food! I will definitely be back!

Chicken wings with three sauces: fire, bbq and sweet chili.

We discovered this place on a day trip. It's just off highway 165 in the center of Hilmar. The restaurant is very nice but casual at the same time, with beautiful landscaping. Inside there is plenty of seating with a great bar and views of the garden. Our waitress was darling and very attentive. We had the western tri-tip sandwich with garlic fries (they also have regular, sweet potato and onion rings!). The meat was tender and delicious on a soft, warm roll. Our daughter chose the meat pizza (big enough for two) and she loved it. Pepperoni, sausage, bacon and ham! The crust was thin, light and crispy. Super good. We also ordered chicken wings with all three offered sauces on the side. Perfectly fried and not greasy. Definitely going back to try one of their amazing looking burgers. You should go too!

Loved the bartender! It's a comfortable atmosphere; low key, but the food is excellent. Great for a group of friends. A little pricey.

The owners were incredibly supportive--reliable, responsive, and followed through on every promise. One of the things we appreciated most was their flexibility. Unlike many venues that require you to use their preferred vendors for catering, bartending, or florals, August Meadows gave us the freedom to choose our own. That made a huge difference in creating a day that felt personal and unique. We also opted to have them handle the cleanup the following morning, and it was absolutely worth the extra cost--stress-free and seamless. The location itself is secluded and offers a wonderful sense of privacy. I highly recommend visiting in person to ensure it aligns with your expectations. As a small heads-up: the parking area is unpaved, and there's a bit of gravel to walk through, which posed a slight challenge for a few guests in high heels. Also, having a microwave in the clubhouse would be a nice addition. Other than that, our experience was outstanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend August Meadows to anyone looking for a beautiful, flexible, and well-managed venue.

Private location surrounded by trees has a large grass area, great gazebo in the round area set up for drinks, and a cement area ideal for dancing. Rooms available for bridal party to get dressed (wished it had AC) for the big day. Strongly recommend you check this venue out. The parking area is dirt (owner made sure it was watered prior so minimal dust). Getting from the parking area into the venue area there is small gravel so watch your step and footwear.

Kelly and her team made setting up a breeze. They knew exactly how to maneuver each aspect of the venue. On the day of the wedding, Kelly was truly the biggest help. She was everywhere at once and helping with every step. At one point, I looked at Kelly as I was overwhelmed with the moment and she knew exactly how to get me out of the stressful situation and guide everyone to the next step of the reception. She was by your side the whole time without being overbearing. I couldn't have had a better coordinator. Daisy Mae was such a great choice to add to our barn wedding. Kelly's team of bartenders were ON TOP of it. We had about 150ish people who were drinking for the whole 6 hours. They did a great job at creating our signature drinks and utilizing the alcohol provided. The Corral Booth was great. We added a photo printer to utilize for our guest book. Kelly doesn't typically use this as the pictures are sent digitally, but she added it for us. The printer had trouble keeping up with the amount of pictures taken, but Kelly personally checked on it throughout the night and made sure I received all the printed pictures. I also loved being able to have access to all the pictures that people took throughout the night. Overall, Kelly and her team helped make our wedding everything we wanted. Thank you!

She'll sell you a dream, call it "Luxe", charge a premium and deliver cheap, tacky, DIY decor and she'll change it without asking. Her contract protects her from any accountability. Not satisfied? Take it up with the vendor, who you have zero contact with during any planning or ordering. She'll offer credit for future services! Because that's what you want from a person who didn't fulfill their end of the contract, right? I checked her Instagram, I loved everything I saw. She has beautiful dessert displays, that are themed with color, decor, florals. A variety of pastries and candies. And she claims to have 10yrs of experience creating dessert displays. Expectations were high. She claimed to work with local bakeries to build these displays. Guess Walmart is considered a local bakery, right? What we got was a rushed, sloppy display of cookies and mini cupcakes in various shades of brown. All piled onto wood crates. Nothing that showed she had experience. Nothing like what she has posted on her Instagram. She sure didn't post our dessert display. One thing I asked before anything, because I noticed that a lot of her events are bridal, wedding-centric. I asked if she was able to do the complete opposite end of the spectrum. We asked for full on color-drenched Purple! Red accents and gold for sparkle. Asked for floor to ceiling purple drapes. We were going for WOW! Venue is 21,000+ sq ft warehouse. We want to make it feel like we are not in a warehouse. She's got 15 years in the business, she should have a network of vendors to assist her. But she said she'd have to special order them.. it took me 15 minutes to find a local vendor with purple drapes to cover the venue. No need to special order. Instead, Lina waited 2 days before to tell us that her special order was "short". Short to me is 40%-50% of the total. She and her team decided for us to just use white drapes. About 10% of the drapes were purple. She did offer a $3,000 credit though! We paid $6,500 for draping alone. She claims it took her team 3 days to install them. Yet I was there when they came to hang them. It took roughly 4 hrs. We paid for fresh floral centerpieces. She created a "floral recipe" even. I thought wow that's impressive. I like attention to detail. Again, Purple should be the main color, Purple hydrangeas, purple stock, w/ red roses, minimal greenery in a glass vase, which we also paid for. We wanted guests to have a nice arrangement to take home. 128 to be exact. We got less than 40 large centerpieces w/ mostly white, filler flowers, lots of greenery and carnations, all on a plastic plate. these made them feel cheap and not worth the price we paid. The night before, I saw two crates of assorted bud vases and bunches of fresh flowers. I knew then that she had cheapened out on the flowers and was going to throw those together the next morning. I was right. Her and/or her staff, threw a bunch of flowers in bud vases attempting to fill the gaps where larger arrangements should have been. I could have done that myself! A common thread in the stories I've now read about Lina is she stops communicating with her clients, after going through texts and emails I'm reminded that she did ghost us for a bit. I didn't pay it much mind because we had communicated our needs very clearly. But also the week leading up to the party she would not talk to me directly. Her whole model is that she's there to help you every step of the way and she's "a shoulder to lean on" When I needed her the most she would not even text me back. We asked for food vendor quotes. We never got any. We ended up getting our own caterer. We asked her to help get a mariachi, but she lagged so we found one ourselves. We asked her to get us two photographers and a videographer, she waited until two days before to say she knows a guy. By that point we were not comfortable giving her anymore money. Contractually did she do the bare minimum. Yeah. Did I thank her for what she did, yes. Because I was raised right. I wasn't going to point out everything that was wrong, that she didn't fulfill. The event was over, what was she going to do? Offer another credit? Apologize? I was just glad the day was over. She got lots of compliments and kudos from guests because they did not know what I know. That it was supposed to be much more than just nice. It was not $24,000 worth of nice. I have done events on a smaller budget and had it look way better. But be the judge for yourself. I'll show you what we paid for vs. what we got..

I came for the cheese but I ended up having lunch. So this place can be a solid four stars maybe five but my fish n chips dropped it to a three. Let's get the positives out of the way. Their squeakers are DELICIOUS. Did I mention they're not expensive? Let me give you an example, I just bought the same tub of cheese at Bravo farms that was half the weight of Hilmar cheese tub. I paid $7.99 at Brave Farms. This same tub of cheese curds aka squeakers at almost a full pound cost me $5.29. Definitely a must stop for you cheese fans. The cool part is they let other cheese companies sell their cheese products. Talk about spreading the love. Did I mention they serve Pepsi products? That is the best. Now the bad. Their fish n chips were not good. The cashier said it's popular but I don't know how. The fish was mushy and the fries were over salted. The wife did enjoy her T.B.A. Sandwich. They have other items that I would definitely try. They have stuff for the big kids (adult beverages) and stuff for the little kids. I am definitely coming back for the squeakers and maybe try something else to eat. For those traveling southbound 99, needing a rest stop, food break, bathroom break, and snack break, this is well worth the less than 15 minute drive off of 99. You won't regret it.

Took us about 20min from being behind a customer, to placing our order to receiving our order. So a little longer than a regular drive thru but the food is good! Pro Tip: the habanero sauce is fire! I mean it will literally taste like fire when you use it, so be careful! Her other sauce is so delicious! Perfect spice and flavor! The habanero is for when you really like a kick to your tastebuds! Get it! Asada was more tender and almost shredded compared to a lot of the other places I go to. I didn't mind it! Burrito was a win and would come back for another. The Esquite was good! It definitely tasted more like melted Mayo with corn sitting in it but it wasn't a bad thing. The hibiscus was fantastic! Taste was one of the better drinks I've had from any Mexican restaurant. Pro Tip: be ready for them not to have certain things. Being a mom and pop shop, the day we went they didn't have horchata or tamales. Give this place a go if you're ever done getting your car washed, or happen to be coming or going down this area. Make sure not to pass it, it's right next to Gozen.
