As hard as it is for an adult with low income/no income/ or government issued insurance to find care for eyes and teeth you would think that these businesses would be a tad more compassionate about struggling adults and making sure they carry out their oath as medical professionals in the care they promise to give to their patients but in this case sadly that is so so far from the truth. Anyone who has known me for yrs on here and of course family knows about continued health struggles. Day to day is a struggle and at this point I feel like my day job is fighting off whatever new infection my body picks up just from leaving my front door, touching a shopping cart, or a piece of playground equipment while at the park with my kids. Am I complaining no.. I try to live each day for what it is. For years upon years, I have put my teeth care on the back burner not only because it is very hard for me to even leave the house because I am continuously sick but also because it is 1 thing that I am absolutely terrified of after a horrific dental situation when I was 21, but this yr I finally decided to bite the bullet and get the dental care I so much needed and made an awesome dental plan with an amazing compassionate dentist. Dr. Maxwell Dental Center of Taylor County I have had several appointments now getting lots of fixes and was excited for future appointments. Now here is where the situation gets sad. I have had to reschedule 2 appointments in 2023 one due to battling COVID pneumonia and one because I was battling MRSA that I picked up in the ER while there for the COVID pneumonia. (yes that is my luck) I had an appointment scheduled for June 1st and another for June 3rd. Mind you this dental practice not only calls with reminders 3 days ahead of time but also sends out a reminder text 1/2 times before your appointment for you to confirm. I had no idea of the June 1st appt. No call, Not text reminder.. NO IDEA. I did however get a text for the appt on June 3rd. and a call. Upon my calling today I was greeted with not a hello but a snarky receptionist. I let her know that not only would I have scheduled two appointments back to back but I had nothing in my calendar, no text, no reminder call so I had no idea. Her reply was well you're dismissed from here. They already issued a letter to you today and you are not allowed to come back here. Mind you I had never no called no showed up on them and I rescheduled 2 appointments for medical reasons. Which I guarantee they would not have appreciated if I walked in with COVID or MRSA. After she stated this to me. (also to let anyone know that doesn't already know I am currently battling COVID pneumonia again now - 2 weeks in and I have no voice so I'm whispering to her) Anyways she proceeds to declare their policy to me that if you miss or reschedule 4 appointments you are dismissed or banned. I said I did not miss any appointments and I only rescheduled 2.. So she goes back all the way to 2022 a different yr and adds in 2 reschedules I had from that yr.. and said yeah you're dismissed. I was left speechless and just said ok and hung up. I am at a loss for how this whole situation has gone down none of it being my fault. I can not help if I am ill. I am contemplating talking to the CEO of this business. Not because I want to go back there after all this but because really how many other people have they done this to or plan to do this to.
