Formally known as the scary sounding "Flaschengeist",…read more Liqurious has transformed itself into a great speciality gift store. Known for it's intriguing combinations, This store offers amazing Liqueurs, spirits, fortified wines, oils and vinegars for you to fill up and take home in whatever size bottle you need. I remember being stumped for good gift idea's for my manly man friend, but after talking to the friendly sales staff I got to take home white port in a bottle that had a GLASS SHIP IN IT. (Needless to say it's so boss it still resides on the kitchen counter.) With liqueurs ranging from mango melon, pineapple, rose, limoncello, cognac and walnut, AND melon (as well as a yummy chocolate vodka.) This place definitely has you spoiled for choice. Now is the season for yuletide giving and If you're stumped for a unique gift idea this place is great alternative to that giftcard you were guiltily thinking of buying.

And oh, what a place full of delightful, alcoholic things! But first there's the amazing oils (I don't cook, but even I was impressed). I totes wanted the Mandarin Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil to dress some of my Christmas Day salads with. Or perhaps even the Raspberry Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar to dip breads in? Then I realised that I was loitering right beside a huge bottle of chocolate Port. Yes, you read that right. It's Port and it's chocolate flavoured. You can even soak strawbs in it. Then there were the other amazing liquers, just ripe for adding into cocktails: watermelon, rose, mango, macadamia nut). I underestimated you, Liqurious. Respect.

Mrs Flannery's is worth travelling some distance for if you're after organic, completely natural…read morefoods or anything gluten, dairy, etc free. They have a huge range of stock, including fresh organic fruit and vegetables, cold goods and supplements in a surprisingly large store. The assistants are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you might have. I go in for their supply of 'Lentilicious,' one of the many locally produced products for healthy living they have in store and their organic fair trade coffee. Even if you aren't sold on organic foods, its a great place to find healthy, nutritious food stuff.

As far as health and organic food stores go, Mrs Flannery's in Taringa is one of the best ones I…read morehave been to. This mainly due to the size allowing them to really fill up the place with a wide variety of goods. I am used to health food stores being the size of boutiques, not much larger than and average sized bedroom kind of thing. Surprisingly, 'Mrs Flannery's' is the size of a small IGA or your local food store. It has a few aisles like the ones you find at the Supermarket! Here you will find, organic cereal, wide range of nuts and whole grains as well as natural household and beauty products. I am fond of their peanut butter which is literally grounded peanuts with no additives, preservatives and flavourings. Of course shopping here is not as cheap as the local supermarket but you feel so good about yourself for being so healthy after shopping here. I obviously would not do my entire groceries here as that would burn a hole in my pocket though. 'Mrs Flannery's' is a must for anyone into natural health and organic foods who lives around the 'Taringa' area. You will not be disappointed by the range this place has to offer.

The name says it all. It sells, superior fruit and inside is Wendy's kitchen…read more Be warned, this greengrocer store does sell superior fruit, but it also comes with a superior price tag! A dollar or two extra here and there, but hey, these days it all adds up. Where you can buy a massive mango for $2.99 (not on special) at regular fruit shops, they sell the same looking massive mangoes at $3.99 and it's on special. Do you get what I mean? But shopping here does have its perks. First of all, it is a store stocked full of high quality deli produce. Fresh fruits and vegetables as well as many items imported from Europe, mainly Italy. They have my favourite crisped baked pita bread crackers with parma cheese infused into it. It's delish with fresh dips! Or if you feel like shortbread, there are some hand-made short bread made in Wendy's kitchen available for a handsome sum of $7.99 a bag. It is a small bag with about 5 shortbreads, pretty exy me thinks! But the taste is amazing. These gorgeous shortbreads literally melt in your mouth. Other great food they have include; a variety of expensive cheeses, deli meats, sealed fresh quiches, pizza's and tuna mornay, a selection of imported biscuits, freshly made yogurts, premium olive oils and plenty more. If you are after a real foodies shopping experience, this place ticks all the boxes. It may not be the place I go to stock up for my weekly groceries, but it is a fabulous little shop to go and splurge and invest into a premium quality food, once in a while.

Fresh Seafood delivered weekly on a Thursday…read more The prices at this place are pretty comparable to that of a fish market, their produce area always fresh and they have 2-3 types of salmon that you can grill up and crispy skin. The guys behind the counter are always very knowledgeable about where the fish are from and are pretty honest about the way to cook them, and if they're not for you. All that aside though, what I really really super duper love about this place, is their half price cooked seafood after 4pm everyday! Woohoo! Get a huge crumbed basa fillet and some chips for $3? How can you beat that. Just wait a little and the big sign will appear on top of the counter and away you go! They also have a seafood shop in the foodcourt of Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre so they must be doing well.

This place is pretty good for a fishmongers located in a shopping centre. It is decent in size and they have quite a trendy looking fit out... For a seafood shop that is. I like it! Of course, in addition to its attractive appearance, it does stock quite the range in fish and other seafoods. I especially love their big king prawns in the front window. It gets me time and time again. I could never resist purchasing a kilo or two. You'll find plenty of fish, prawns, squid on display and some chilled products in their fridges. The staff are very helpful and really know their stuff when it comes to fish. I'm still new to cooking seafood creatively, I usually, like to just slap it on the grill and douse it in lemon juice. There is plenty of time to learn different ways of cooking seafood, but for now, I'm getting hungry just writing about it. I think, it's time for me to stop by there today and buy a few bags full of seafood. And I think, you should too! Just in time for the weekend.
