These guys remind me of the butchers of old (yes I'm old to). They open the door for you, genuinely talk with you about.....anything really. Carry your meat to the car (which helps with screaming kids) and always remember who you are. The meat itself is amazing. My partner is a raving hippy so for her it has to be 'organic'. Me, I don't care, as long as its red, dead and juicy I'll eat it. But the different sorts of cuts and marinates really spices up our barbies and makes 'us' look like 5 star chefs! Mmmmm....meeeeeat.

I particularly like the summer fruit, especially mangos and you can pick up a whole bunch for a very reasonable price. Plus they are mangos, so I would pay more for those tasty treats anyway. It's also next door to a butcher which is super convenient. There are all the fruits, pasta's, cheeses and sauces you could hope for. Plus it's a pretty convenient location, on the way to the city if you're going out and need to take anyhting. I didn't notice that they cut their own meats or cheeses, but once again next to a butcher so you may have that sorted there. The staff are friendly, the shop was easy enough to get around, and I was able to buy some fresh flowers out the front. All in all a nice place to visit and next time I feel like a nice tapas plate I'll be going there.

They have a nice range of fruit and veggies and a small deli around the back that also has a good range for its size. There are dips, meat, breads, and cheeses to choose from to go with the very nice and very fresh fruit. Though it can't compete on a size scale with larger chains of fruit sellers and the likes of Coles and Woolworths, this little place has some great stuff at really excellent prices. A ridiculously large of behemoth strawberries only cost me $6 and at the rate I go through strawberries, that's exceptional value. Their produce is fresh and a really great alternative to chain stores if you like supporting local suppliers and sellers.

I could never get the background on a piece of meat they can provide from the guy in a supermarket. The prices are as good as the supermarkets too, and you're supporting a great local business by buying here. Their position next to a bakery and fruit shop / deli also means you can do your daily meal shopping without having to enter a big chain. Oh, and they have cheap dog bones. Love that.

That said, Going to Chermside is a bit of a hassle these days. Even if your stay is short enough to not pay for parking, ugh. You still have to deal with the tickets, and then you just ALWAYS happen to get stuck behind the person who can't operate the exit and ends up being stuck there for ages. Really, just head out to the DFO Woolies, it's open 24 hours now too.
