Get your $6.99 rump here, get your $6.99 here, you won't FIND prices this cheap anywhere else,…read more$6.99 for your grain fed rump everyone, come on up. I have respect for these guys who stand in front of shops and yell out the specials. The young man was particularly cute on this day when I heard the speaker go, so I went to check out his 'rump steak'. MMmm yes, very tender. Perving aside, thus started my 15 year love affair with Andrew's Quality Meats. It sounds gross, like who the hell has a love affair with a butcher shop? Me. Okay? They always do a great rib fillet. They do $2.99/kg chicken drumsticks practically all year round (my honey soy drummies are fantastic), the cuts are always good ones, not sloppy fatty ones (you know what i'm talking about), they do a great roast chicken breast with macadamia and cranberries inside (oven roasted 180 degrees celcius for 40 minutes) and they do amazingly lean sausages that taste even better than the fatty ones. They will french cut the pork rack for you, they will practically kill a cow and slice the rump off if they are out, they will crumb your lamb cutlets in front of you if they have none in the display window. In fact, Andrew even told me how best to cook my rib fillet roast as i'd never cooked one before all those years back. The shop was busy, and he took the time to pull mea side and make sure I knew what I was doing, to get the best out of the great cut of meat i'd just paid for. They also do family packs, bbq packs, cheap bones and mince for your dogs... the mince is minced fresh daily as well. 2kg of Premium 4 star beef mince for $16. 4 stars people! The meat isn't glad wrapped up, they do great turnover and they take orders over the phone, there isn't much these great bunch of guys won't do. Ask you how your day is and mean it, oh sorry, there are a couple of ladies there to. Definetely get your meat here, if you're into the freshest meat around anyway.

They have a huge range of stock, including fresh organic fruit and vegetables, cold goods and supplements in a surprisingly large store. The assistants are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you might have. I go in for their supply of 'Lentilicious,' one of the many locally produced products for healthy living they have in store and their organic fair trade coffee. This mainly due to the size allowing them to really fill up the place with a wide variety of goods. I am used to health food stores being the size of boutiques, not much larger than and average sized bedroom kind of thing. Surprisingly, 'Mrs Flannery's' is the size of a small IGA or your local food store. It has a few aisles like the ones you find at the Supermarket! Here you will find, organic cereal, wide range of nuts and whole grains as well as natural household and beauty products. I am fond of their peanut butter which is literally grounded peanuts with no additives, preservatives and flavourings. Of course shopping here is not as cheap as the local supermarket but you feel so good about yourself for being so healthy after shopping here. I obviously would not do my entire groceries here as that would burn a hole in my pocket though. 'Mrs Flannery's' is a must for anyone into natural health and organic foods who lives around the 'Taringa' area. You will not be disappointed by the range this place has to offer.

A dollar or two extra here and there, but hey, these days it all adds up. Where you can buy a massive mango for $2.99 (not on special) at regular fruit shops, they sell the same looking massive mangoes at $3.99 and it's on special. Do you get what I mean? But shopping here does have its perks. First of all, it is a store stocked full of high quality deli produce. Fresh fruits and vegetables as well as many items imported from Europe, mainly Italy. They have my favourite crisped baked pita bread crackers with parma cheese infused into it. It's delish with fresh dips! Or if you feel like shortbread, there are some hand-made short bread made in Wendy's kitchen available for a handsome sum of $7.99 a bag. It is a small bag with about 5 shortbreads, pretty exy me thinks! But the taste is amazing. These gorgeous shortbreads literally melt in your mouth. Other great food they have include; a variety of expensive cheeses, deli meats, sealed fresh quiches, pizza's and tuna mornay, a selection of imported biscuits, freshly made yogurts, premium olive oils and plenty more. If you are after a real foodies shopping experience, this place ticks all the boxes. It may not be the place I go to stock up for my weekly groceries, but it is a fabulous little shop to go and splurge and invest into a premium quality food, once in a while.

Popcorn, fresh fish, meat, flowers, all kinds of produce, wool, ton of food trucks, live music. My friend got the Japanese pancakes and I had a bite. Very fluffy and a touch of sweetness. The produce is cheaper than the supermarkets.

Mind you we all love food so this was the perfect spot. There were so many tents lined up and so many different vendors to choose from. It was like super farmer's market compared to what I'm used to at home in Hawai'i. We walked around for bit just eyeing out all the different food. There is definitely something for everyone here. Also, a great place to buy produce and meat. Probably for a cheaper price than you would find in a grocery store. Because we couldn't decide on one food stand we decided to get food from multiple ones lol. We got out drinks from a tea stand. We got liliko'i and mango teas. There was one stand where they were selling breaky sammies for $5 and they were huge! We got one of those and a gian samosa from an Indian vendor. The samosa was almost the size of my hand. Ain't gonna find any samosas like that in Hawai'i unless you make em yourself. We also got pork belly shish kabobs. It was a great experience and so much fun too! If you're ever in Brisbane I recommend going to Rocklea markets. Everyone just seemed so happy and excited even though it was a bit rainy that day. It was also a good place for families. My boyfriend and I will be back next time we're in Brisbane again.

Who doesn't like getting a roast chicken for under $10?…read more Well, it does exist. Ever since Coles and Woolworths upped their prices to over $10 I have been on the hunt for the whole roast chicken that would save my saturday afternoons. Fresh bread and salad... how could you go wrong. Wild wings has $8.99 whole roasted chickens. I don't know if they're as big as the other ones, but the chickens tast pretty damn good. They also do $5 boxes at the end of the day which is great if you want a box of nuggets, miscellaneous deep fried treats and whatnot. It's a breath of fresh air from the Leonards that used to be there. The prices are right and they sell fresh raw chicken... sausage rolls, roasts... chicken kiev... all things chicken.

I went here recently on the suggestion of a friend to "just have a look". Prior to this, I had never checked out what they had and I have to say, I was quite surprised at their range of marinated chicken and stir fry chicken. They had plenty of flavours and moreover, I was impressed at the choices. The marinades come in a selection of worldly favourites, from Asian style satay sauces to Portugese peri-peri. I bought a few different marinated chicken styles and stocked them in my freezer. All were fantastic! Particularly the Asian stir fry they do! Also, for every kilo of Asian Stir Fry chicken you buy, the customer receives a pack of hokkien noodles! Wild Wings has good prices, big range and great customer service. They are very friendly here and very helpful. Another thing I like here is the hot food section they have on the right side of the counter. Here, you can get lunch time packs for only $5 or 2 for $8. These lunch hot box meals, are not healthy at all, but still great value! They consist of a mix of Asian deep fried foods like spring rolls and other deep fried stuff like potato gems. Although I miss Lenards, I have to say Wild Wings in Mt Ommaney makes a really tempting replacement.
