The employees are rather cordial, I can always get help in a short time if I need some. You can take a few seconds to sign up for their rewards program to save money on your groceries while earning points for "stuff." And who doesn't like a good rewards program? :D The store is clean, produce is fresh, there's an abundance of local products on the shelves, and the adult beverage selection is excellent (especially considering this isn't BevMo). Oh, the take-and-bake pizzas from the deli are fantastic!

It carries the same type of stock as any grocery chain but on a smaller scale. The market has a sandwich deli to order fresh sliced sandwich meats and custom sandwiches. But I got a "beef" with them. All these years I was not told that with my sandwich order, I can get a free fountain drink or bottled water. What the hey?!? The deli counter person nor the cashier ever told me. Not until my last visit a few weeks ago. The cashier was great, she even asked a runner to grab me a bottled water. But he came back to say they were out. Seriously?! It's a grocery store ... no bottled water? Sure. Good grief. I would have taken a room temp bottle. Not really vibing with Holiday Market anymore.

So we tweaked our order and still scored 3 great sandwiches. 3 sizes of sandwiches based on amount of meat was a new concept. Middle size was perfect (6 ounces, I believe). Toppings were fresh and plentiful. Checked out the prices and fairly reasonable for the convenience. Cold beers were spot on!

But since we were staying in Placerville for a couple nights, I thought I might have to give up some of that healthy eating. Lo and behold... the Placerville Food Co-op!!!! Organic fruits, vegetables, kombucha on tap (and special kombucha from well known brands), gluten free snacks/frozen foods, oat milk, non-dairy ice cream, organic dog foods, food + fresh pressed juiced bar... oh my heavens, I was in love. We even found gluten free brownies and dairy free chocolates from well known out of state brands. And well-priced. Not to mention, we asked for recommendations on gluten free friendly restaurants and the store clerk came back with a list of 15 restaurants! Was not expecting that. Please support this co-op if you are ever in the town of Placerville. Definitely a hidden gem.

I have been in here to buy stuff. I have been in here to use the restroom. I've never been treated differently. I've always been treated very kind and nice. I'm able to come in here and buy snacks and all the pricing is pretty good. They do have everything that every Safeway has which is really nice. You know what to expect you can get vegetables you can get meat. You can get all kinds of things and just because this is the only Safeway or grocery store in the area they don't have their prices raised in a super huge bracket which a lot of stores would do just because they're the only one in the neighborhood

We also went to the deli and got a breakfast burrito. I wished we each got our own it was so good. I belive it was $5.99 for either the sandwich or the burrito. It all came from the deli case. We got the Bacon, Potato, and Egg Burrito. They have eggs precooked in disks and they tear up the backon and add potatoes from the fried chicken section of the deli, and they chop everything up and put it in there oven to melt the cheese and then toast the top. It's definatly hand crafted as they advertize. It's a time consuming process, the making of the burrito and there was a line when we got there. There was a family of two, infront of us getting 3 burritos so there was a wait. Knowing it's hand crafted should take away from your impatience. I talked to the guy behind me and he said there is always a line for the burritos, it's a very popular item.

We also purchased some pre/ sliced lasagna (yum), fresh roast beef, meatballs must be popular because they were out at 11:30 am Sunday. Home head meatballs are good for so many things. Not only to add to pasta, put on a slicer or with salad as an easy meal. Produce and meat selections were great & inviting. Fresh hot lasagna soup, tortilla soup and clam chowder all yum! Pricing was fair & lots of Indian meals on sale, Thai curry & many other pricing lower than my regular stores I shop. Wide cleans isles, beautiful store full of workers to help with any questions.
