Our party paid £6.70 for excellent cod and chips with a cup of tea, when most diners had the over 60s version at £3.95. So popular was the over 60s menu that the restaurant were turning families away at peak tourist time. When the fish and chips are so good, why bother with a menu range from gammon steak to lobster tails? I guess the drive is the evening takeaway, catering for the local Braunton market, ut if I were South Sixteen I would focus on fewer, better dishes. Would I go back - yes. As a special treat, we were occasionally treated to a 'fish supper', which we would collect from the then fish shop in South Street. Since then, other things have happened locally. South Street continues to be the home of real fish and chips! I have nothing to add to the review by Lanky of Leicester. I think he hits the nail on the head. Seriously worth visiting.
