First off, there are tours in English and in German. So make sure you are in the correct language bus prior to boarding -- although they did a very good job making sure they had the right people. They can pick you up from your hotel if it is one of a few hotels that they do this for, so ask. Also, be prepared for the fact that admission to these castles could not be pre-paid through Gray Line (he tried to explain why, but my attention span didn't catch it, although it sounded legit, LOL) -- so bring the cash for the actual admission to the castles. Our guide was simple and direct with his speech especially when it came to giving instructions on drop off, times to meet, and rendezvous locations. These bus tours took us to two castles: Linderhoff and Neuschwanstein, in addition to a brief stop at Oberamergau, home of the passion plays. In german tradition, things were organized and on-time. The surprise we had, was that our guide had a sense of humor, we totally weren't expecting that. German-type humor, but humor nevertheless. We had a blast! Thank you Gray Line Munich for time well spent!

Bavarian beer in the Bavarian Alps, perfect!

We did our tour on Sept. 2, 2021. The guide was great and very informative! It was a great way to see Linderhof and Neuschwanstein.

I would suggest to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers because the walk up to Neuschwanstein is no joke.

The views are amazing! Lana had lots of great information on the way up and was quiet on the way back because a lot of people were sleeping on the way home. We got to drive on the autobahn and I saw lots of Porsches going at least 100 MPH. The castle was awesome, it is about a 30 minute tour and at the pickup spot you can grab a nice red brat. The have beer too. Definitely an awesome trip you should take and try to get Lana as your tour guide!

The meeting point was easy to find and transportation was prompt and comfortable for the full ~9-hour round trip. Lana was our guide and easily one of the best I've ever had--witty, funny, and packed with idiosyncratic Bavarian facts. She kept us engaged and entertained the entire time, even including some adult only material. On the bus, keep your eyes peeled for cows, alpacas, deer, and CATS roaming the countryside. The castle and Bavarian scenery are breathtaking on their own, but Lana's local-born energy and storytelling made the entire day unforgettable. Professional, punctual, and genuinely entertaining--highly recommend requesting Lana for this tour.

A really super cool guy who Knows all the ins and outs to all the places, a man with connections to all the local spots. That's when a local pointed me to Munich Walk Tours, a small kiosk under the Glockenspiel. This kiosk was closed during the day so when returning later, I was told about all walking tours but what stood out was a beer tour. A beer tour? Hell yeah! My tour guide was Ian, a friendly Brit who worked as a guide for a few months and was very knowledgeable. He took the group to a local brewery where we munched on tasty pretzels and sampled a few beers. We then checked out the rest of the brewery and saw a small video on how beer is made. After having an awesome time with people from around the world, we all headed over to the Hofbräuhaus and ate more food! The beer was non-stop and the Bavarian food was delicious! The Weisswursts here were the best I've ever had. Because the beer and food made the group so much closer, we all headed over to another bar after the tour and hung out with the locals. This tour is a must in Munich.
