If you're road tripping anywhere near Porter, stop here. This is one of those places you read about…read morein "best hidden road trip stops" articles and it actually lives up to it. The Peach Barn is packed with specialty jars, fresh baked goods, and things you didn't know you needed. The pickles? The best I've ever had. So good I came home and ordered more of them on Amazon from the Amish Wedding company because I refused to run out. Grab more than one jar. Trust me. I also tried the salad dressings and baked goods and everything tasted fresh and high quality. The shop isn't huge but there is enough room for everyone shopping and plenty of nice staff around. Pro tip: sample what you can and buy more than you think you need. I under bought and regretted it immediately. This is a stock up every time you travel kind of stop.

They had so many peach themed things and Whole Foods that were grown locally. I genuinely love handmade and all natural food. They also had a menu and tables and chair so you could eat there as well. I felt like I was on a farm and I loved it! The service was also great! I was asked if needed help looking for anything! If I am ever passing through the small town of Porter, OK, I will definitely be stopping by again! Thank you PEACH BARN!

Lots of different varieties so don't stay in one area. They taste different in other areas. Ps the bigger ones aren't always the sweetest in my opinion. Try a variety that you like that is what is so fun. Now the blackberries are beautiful too! So easy to pick and no thorns. The owners are the sweetest part! Love them - seems like family

I've always loved the opportunity to pick berries around town, well outside of Tulsa; and came…read moreacross this farm while searching for ripe blackberries to pick. There are several other farms outside of Tulsa but I don't recall other blueberry farms that have as many blackberry bushes that Huldy's does! Gwen is the owner and she is super nice! I was the first one there and only one there for about 30 mins on a recent Saturday morning (8 am) and she greeted me and gave me some info about the picking and the farm in general. You are given gallon buckets lined with a plastic bag so no need to bring a container for picking. If you pick blackberries, I do recommend bringing a pair of thin gardening gloves - the kind with the smooth parts on the inside of the hand - that way, you don't end up with purple fingers and hands :) There are rows and rows of blackberry bushes with tons of blackberries ready for picking!! They also have several varieties of blueberries!! I really came for the blackberries so I was excited to pick 2 gallons of blackberries and a3/4 gallon of blueberries. Price is a little high but it's more for the experience. Feel free to come alone (I did) and bring your phone and headphones and zone out and pick berries, while enjoying the sunshine. Come early to avoid the heat!!

The farm store is exactly what any traveler would want to see when visiting a family farm and general store on location. Its DARLING! The owner was on site to encourage sampling the current in season harvest. I was there for summer PEACHES! oooo weee they did not disappoint. fresh produce grow on the farm. canned foods. jams. desserts. sweets. clothes and garden wear. Public bathrooms available and regular events all year with different harvest seasons. Check them out. support local farmers. they keep us all going.

*** Review is during COVID-19 ***…read more Livesay Orchards may be more well known for their peaches (Porter is the peach capital of Oklahoma, after all!) but that's not all they do - I had lots of fun picking apples there! They were doing a good job staying on top of Covid precautions. Masks were worn by all employees and were also required for visitors (especially in any inside places). They had us wash our hands before being taken to the apple trees. We had to read/ listen to them go through a short agreement and then sign it (some things involving the pandemic and some not). Socially distancing was encouraged both inside and outside. There are definitely enough trees/ rows of trees to have space to yourself. While we were there, they had two apple varieties ready to pick: red and golden delicious. Now, I'm not a fan of red delicious apples so I was a bit disappointed at first to hear that these were one of only two varieties available (I especially felt that they should promote what varieties they have, & when, a little more). Luckily, once we got to the trees, we could see that they weren't necessarily the same small, waxy-skinned, bitter red delicious apples we're used to seeing in stores. I actually thought they resembled more of a gala, fuji, or pink lady apple (a few were a deeper rosy/ mauve-y red, some were almost a peach color, and others were that mix of a light red and green color). Needless to say I was glad that they didn't seem to be the red delicious apples I think of them as. We only filled one bucket, which for us was plenty! For reference, we made two batches of apple turnovers, one apple pie, stovetop cinnamon apples, and still have some left over!!! The one bucket was about $30, and as you can see, we got plenty of use out of that (not to mention the fun of the activity itself of getting to pick your own apples). I only wish I knew more about what to look for to pick a "good apple", because a few of them ended up being kind of soft, and I like them to be nice and crisp if I'm just eating an apple as-is. The good news is we used most of them for baking purposes anyway, so it didn't really matter that some were already a bit on the softer side. I'd go back, if not another time this year (they also have a pumpkin patch and hay ride in the fall), then next year, or even for other seasons of the year -- I probably need to try the peaches during the spring/summer season at some point!
