Dr. Gray is the best doctor I have ever seen. He truly listens to his patients. I had needed a hysterectomy for YEARS and no one took me seriously until Dr. Gray. My operation went smoothly, and my recovery was fantastic. I even lost 40 lbs! I knew the pain I had wasn't normal and I am glad Dr. Gray was there for me. Its been 2 years and I feel amazing. My only gripe is his right hand nurse. She's not friendly or warm. Other than that, my experience was perfect. read more

Dr. Gray is my surgical gynecologist. He is the absolute best at what he does. He takes the time to listen and he also gives you his feedback and opinions and is very caring and concerned about you and your body. I had gone in for typical annual Pap and was experiencing a lot a lot of pain in my uterus. My regular gynecologist at the time was the one who sent me to Dr. Gray because he did not want to handle my complications or my surgery. I cannot praise Dr. Gray enough for his bedside manner and how comfortable he made me feel going through the whole process. I do have some residual abdominal pain that has gotten worse over the last five years and I'm hoping they will address that soon because I've gone in twice to have it checked. He has since located to Yorba Linda so I am seeing somebody else now at his Fullerton location. This location is very clean and easy to park at, and the staff is very well spoken and accommodating. read more

Long time patient of Dr. Henderson he retired. Starting seeing Grey in November. His patients are not first priority. He did a surgery on my 5 weeks ago have had problems. He was too busy to see me told me to go to urgent care 3 weeks after surgery. He through me on the back burner after he did the surgery then also didn't mention my full diagnosis. I saw another Dr. I'm the group and it was brought to my attention my pathology results which he should have went through with me. He does have some good reviews. I've been with the group 33 years never had a Dr. treat me like this. He does not call you or reply on my chart. He also told me that they couldn't see me and he was out of the office for weeks. Until I reached out to a supervisor then all of a sudden he could squeeze me in. No thanks he's horrible !! Don't take new patients if you don't have time for them. I should have done more homework before I let him rip out my ovaries. read more

This review is for Dr. Charles Gray's office. I'm a new patient who had an appointment for a women's well check up but they refused stating they couldn't do anything because I was on my cycle (which by the way is untrue - you can totally have a pap smear during your cycle. I've had it before.). TMI - If they had asked, they would have found out it wasn't even full on but spotting. I also indicated that I was still within 3 years of my last pap (and with my age it should be 5 anyway) and I asked if I could possibly get bloodwork done and they said that's done through a primary. I've never in my life been turned away from an appointment due to being on my cycle. Additionally I believe that a women's well exam is more than just a pap smear since those should only be done every 3 to 5 years depending on age. What's more, a well women's check-up should be done every year, and let's face it - during the pandemic, well check-ups have gone by the wayside. As someone that is trying to make an effort to get to the doctor and make the step to make sure my health is ok, I'm extremely disappointed in this office and their treatment of their patients. They should have at least taken me in to ask me questions, do a breast exam etc. But nope on cycle can't do any of that either apparently. It must be so hard and so bothersome. The Dr. delivers babies - I think that's more "troublesome" than a pap during a cycle? If that's also the case, front desk and the appointment services should inform patients prior so they can reschedule accordingly instead of wasting time showing up for nothing. The medical assistant had a terrible demeanor, showing no understanding and devil may care attitude. What's more I was alarmed that she was coughing. Why is she at work when she's coughing? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else if you want a doctor who will treat you well and care for your well-being. read more

Dr. Gray literally saved my life. I have been with him for 13 years, since I was 18. This is my 4th pregnancy with him. My second pregnancy didn't go as planned, I had a rare disorder which turned out to be cancer. He knew something was wrong and I went to see several specialists who all said I was fine and he insisted something was wrong and found a gynecological oncologist at UCI Medical Center who was crazy busy but agreed to see me at Dr. Gray's insistence. It turned out I had a very rare cancer that spreads crazy fast and if it hadn't been for Dr. Gray's knowledge, insistence, and persistence, I could be dead. 6 months of chemo and I am all good. I've had a child since then and am pregnant. I'm only 31 and owe everything to Dr. Gray. Not only that but he has a great bedside manner, is always cheerful, and he's very relaxed. He listens to all concerns or questions. As for people complaining about having to wait or rude staff...I've never really had a problem and I've never been to a doctor that you didn't have to wait for. And given my medical history, I am ALWAYS at the doctor. Oncology, PCP, blood tests, and of course my OB. I love Renee, she is so nice and pretty funny. She is professional and business, and she's not super smiley and chipper so maybe that is why people think that's rude. I don't know. But I don't take things like that personally. She is kind and knowledgeable and cracks a smile or a joke sometimes. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Gray. We had a rough experience finding him though. We went to this group and didn't know where to start, so they assigned us to Dr. Jacqueline Cortez. We had a horrible experience with her. My wife went in without me for her first appointment (for her first pregnancy) while I was at work. The first thing the receptionist said was, "Are you here for your own pregnancy?" My wife said, "Yes." The receptionist said, "Wow. You're pretty young to be pregnant." My wife is 25. Not too young at all. Then she followed it up with, "Well, is there a father in the figure?" asking in a derogatory tone. Are you kidding me? Who would ask such a thing?! She said, "Of course! We've been married for two years!" She saw the doctor and her visit with her wasn't much better. Two appointments later, she got the same treatment each time so we switched to Dr. Gray. He was so warm and helped us get through it. He sat in the room and took 25 minutes just to console us and answer all the questions we had. What amazing bedside manner! He came in on his day off to do a surgery for us. He was extremely friendly and concerned for both of us. His black nurse (and the rest of the staff) is horribly rude though and led us to never returning. He's a great doctor but not worth the harassment it takes going through to see him. read more

Dr. Gray is wonderful. He--as many others have mentioned--has great bedside manners, will answer every question thoroughly, and listen to his patients' concerns. When I first went for my annual checkup, I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and efficient he was when it came to the actual....er....exam. Most women grow to dread this appointment, but Dr. Gray is able to make it quick and relatively painless. I also saw him for both of my pregnancies, and as usual, he was very reassuring and calm. Just an FYI: because St. Jude is a Catholic establishment, they do not do "long-term contraceptives (like an IUD). Dr. Gray had to refer me to another OB-GYN for that. Since he is so thorough with all of his patients, I think this may be why appointments tend to run behind, hence the protracted waiting times. Some days are better than others (the longest have been about 30 minutes just to be called by a nurse). His staff is usually friendly, but I have interacted with some nurses who were somewhat grumpy and short. Things are usually pretty good here, so I don't plan on going anywhere else. read more

Dr. Gray is absolutely wonderful! He has made my pregnancy so smooth. He is so knowledgable and has a great sense of humor as well. He will sit down with you and answer any question you have whether it's completely absurd or a super intense question. He is there for you! I love the staff around him. His nurse Renee is a doll. I know she may seem a little stern at first but trust me she is a sweetheart. :) any time I have a question for dr gray I call the office and she gets back to me as soon as possible. My primary reason for a low rating is not Dr Gray himself but the team around him. I had a difficult start to my pregnancy & on serval occassions I had a bleed & needed advice or was awaiting tests results & no one gets back to you. I waited 2.5 days to be told if the pregnancy was likely to continue despite phoning on multiple occassions over several days. I have just had to phone 3 times over 2 days for my second trimester developmental screening test results as they are now 2 weeks late. The office staff can rarely give you advice so they usually need to msg the doctor. Their lack of knowledge makes it difficult to get seen when there is a worry or compilation because they only know the script/routine appointments. Dr Gray is always late by at least 20 mins but you are never told that when you arrive even though you could be off giving blood next door in that time. They have the annoying habit of calling you in on time, weigh you & do the intial blood pressure etc then leave you in the doctors room for ages. I feel like you have to be proactive about tests which you are due & make sure things are being done. They scheduled my 20 week scan weeks early which only got changed when I pursued it. Dr Gray himself is very kind & gentle. He is very relaxed & I believe he is very competent at his job. St Jude's have an online results programme which you can sign in & see your test results but they don't get updated promptly. read more

Although i work for St Jude, i was told great reviews on Dr Gray from co workers. He is absolutly amazing and his staff is so sweet. Dr Gray takes his time and loves to answer questions you have for him. As scared as i am for giving birth i think with a dr like him i will be able to relax a little and know that me and baby are in good hands. read more

I was seeing a different doctor in the same medical group during my pregnancy. I had a particularly difficult delivery, and my recovery was very slow and painful. I needed to see my doctor a few days after being discharged from the hospital. My doctor was on call and could not see me, so he suggested I see one of the other doctors. Thank God that I was able to see Dr. Gray immediately. He was so kind and understanding of my condition after the delivery. He took the right course in treating me, and was always so encouraging and reassuring. I have nothing against my initial doctor, but I will continue to see Dr. Gray. He really has a great bed-side manner, and was always thoughtful in asking about our daugher. I do agree with the other poster in regards to calling for appointments. Sometimes you can be on hold for 15 minutes before talking to someone. read more

One star for the clean and pretty office. Dr. Gray gave me the opposite medical advice as my previous trusted OB and midwife. So naturally I was confused by this and said so. His rude response was, "it's not confusing at all". He didn't seem to understand the problem well and didn't take any steps to looking into how to help. He wasn't very friendly and seemed very put-off by the fact that I had done some research and had a previous opinion on the matter. Dr. Gray has been my OB/Gyn for the past 7 years. He delivered both of my daughters and I still see him for my annual exams. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gray and St. Jude for their professionalism and for them just making everything run so smoothly at stressful times. I do t remember how the staff is here but dr Gray himself was always very nice to me and more importantly found a blood clotting problem I had that no other drs had found. He is one of the reasons I have my son now after 6 years of trying and several miscarriages. read more

I love Dr. Gray. He has one of the best bedside mannors I've ever experienced. He is real and will take the time for what ever the issue. THE STAFF: however is horrible. I've been with Dr. Grey for 9 years. Went through a miscarriage and tough times with him back when I started. Tried to get to the Dr. but the staff didn't deliver messages and misunderstood the extreity of my sistuation back then, but Dr. Gray's bedside mannor made up for it. Since then I've had yearly check up's no prob. Now I have another problem. Again I can't get to the Dr by phone. I told the nurse, Renee, that I was enough to consider going to the ER and that 4 advil was not holding the pain. , I was told that a message would be texted to Dr. Grey that I wanted a call. This nurse, Renee, asked in a tone "where does it hurt? because your ultasound was "normal" Even though she was working side by side with the Dr. that day she said she would text Dr. Grey the Info and she wouldn't know when he would call back. I went to the ER early the next morning. Told to call my Gynecologist and be seen and update him on the ER visit. Why would I? The Dr. still hasn't called me from the emergency text/message that was sent on Tuesday. The run around to be seen or get informaiton is nuts. The Dr. on the other hand is excellent. I had such a bad experience with the staff that I decided to change doctors. As previously mentioned, bad manners is an issue. But, I can deal with bad manners if skill and professionalism is present. Important tests were overlooked. In addition important attention to detail was missed. The doctor also liked to chat and could be described as having a good bedside manner but he didn't have patience for questions and was obviously not into a new mothers curiosity. I have very little faith that the unexpected complications I experienced in my pregnancy would have been handled adequately by this doctor. I hate to write a bad review for such an important service but that is how disappointed I was with the care I was given. I would shop around for an OB and if you don't feel good about your OB, find a new one like I did. I eventually went to another doctor and she was amazing. Everyone should put their health in the amazing hands of a great doctor for such an important life event. read more
