I've have three children; one of which has special needs. Unfortunately, my two youngest children has Asthma, allergies and suffer from frequent Upper Respiratory Infections. Dr. Graves has been their pediatrician for the past two years. Although, she has a great bed side manner, she has terrible follow through. When my children are seen in the ER, I have to contact her for follow-up appointments. She rarely returns my call. The office staff is also very friendly, but it is almost impossible to schedule an appointment. When I call for a same day appointment, I'm referred to the ER department. In the past week, I've contacted the office twice, with no return call. One of my children had a staph infection. I took him to the ER on Monday, and it had to be drained. The ER doctor recommended that my son be seen by his pediatrician within two days in case he needs an antibiotic. I was able to reach the office staff this morning, and I explained the situation. I also informed the reception that my son developed two more abscesses and needs a prescription today. She stated she understood and would have Dr. Graves contact me before noon. I assumed she would get back with me because last week my other son was ill, and I did not receive a return call. I was in hopes she would try to redeem herself. When I didn't hear back from her, I contacted Walgreen Pharmacy to verify whether or not a prescription was written for him. I wanted to give Dr. Graves the benefit of the doubt, and thought maybe she was just too busy to call back, but at least wrote the prescription. No prescriptions, and no return phone call. Now I will have to take my son back to the ER for another four hour visit just to get an antibiotic. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. You will not be able to schedule a same day appointment, and you will not hear back from the doctor. I understand that most doctors offices are extremely busy. However, we as parents and patients, depend on our doctors to work with us with regards to our health and our children's health. I'm not trying to be negative. I simply want to express my frustration and speak the truth. read more
