After we ordered we were asked if we needed anything, we were told we were fourth on the order board and it was ok to sit somewhere while we waited. The food is yummy, yummy. I love the club it's a salad with pulled pork, something love. Richelle said she yummy loved the brisket Mac-n-cheese. If you get it to go it will not look pretty when you get it home, see my picture, it was all mixed up but that is how Richelle would have eaten it any way. Fantastic food, Fantastic service, indoor and outdoor dining area. I think there were a few beer choices too.

Well, partner, you best steer your boots toward Smokin' Hawgs. Nestled in the old Main Street Pizza building, this joint might still be a work in progress, but it's already staking its claim as a local treasure. The inside seating might be on the cozy side, but don't let that fool you--there's ample room for comfort. And soon, a new patio with a gazebo will grace the front and side, offering a prime view of the creek that meanders beside it. While you're relaxin' and enjoyin' your meal, you'll also have a perfect view of the century-old courthouse in the town square, a grand piece of history that adds to the charm of this small town. Imagine sittin' under the gazebo, the sun setting over the horizon, and the gentle murmur of the creek as you savor every bite. That's the kind of experience Smokin' Hawgs is fixing' to offer. Now, let me tell y'all about the man behind the magic--Daryel. He's a dedicated chef and a fellow Masonic brother, rising with the rooster each morning to prepare the day's meats and sides. Every dish is crafted with pure love and passion, and it shows in every mouthful. **What we tried:** - **Brat Slider:** I took a bite, and it was like striking gold. Each morsel was a burst of flavor that had me wanting more. - **Pulled Pork Sandwich:** My wife saddled up to this dish, and let me tell ya, she's a tough critic. But this time, she cleaned her plate, leaving nary a crumb behind, except the bread. The pulled pork was plentiful, the baked beans were rich and savory, and the scalloped potatoes were creamy and delightful. - **4 Rib Meal:** My daughter chose this, and those ribs were tender as a gentle breeze, falling right off the bone. I had a taste of the beans--lip-smacking good, I tell ya. The ribs were seasoned to perfection, and each bite was a journey through flavor town. Daryel's signature sauces are the perfect sidekick to the star of the show--the meat. Each sauce complemented the flavors beautifully, adding a delightful kick that lingered on the taste buds. So, whether you're a local lookin' for your next favorite spot or just a traveler passing through, Smokin' Hawgs is worth every mile of the journey. With Daryel's dedication and the rustic charm of the place, you're in for a meal that's as memorable as a Western sunset. Giddy up and head on over to Smokin' Hawgs, where every meal is a culinary adventure crafted with heart and soul, all while takin' in the sights of the historic town square and its venerable courthouse.

Everyone else was happy with their meal: pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes, kids chicken tenders, low country shrimp deviled egg salad, meatloaf sandwich with peanut cole slaw and grilled cheese & tomato soup. We also had desserts. We tried the apple cobbler and bourbon bread pudding. The bread pudding was AWESOME! The cobbler was really just baked apples with ice cream and some crumbles. Not really a cobbler, but it was tasty. We ordered coffee during dessert and [fair warning] it was instant coffee. The place is very casual. We overdressed because I thought it would be nicer. Casual isn't bad, just not what I expected. Meals are served on cardboard, brown paper and metal trays. I called twice to make a reservation. No one answered. I left messages both times and did not receive a call back. I called another time and got a person and was able to make a reservation, although I now know it was not needed. There was plenty of seating available. The server was VERY NICE and personable and attentive. The kitchen was slow, however. It is possible she was the only person working since we did not see anyone else. 3 of us ordered the low country shrimp and deviled egg salad but all the hot food came out first. Our server apologized for the missing salads and said she'd be right back. It was a good amount of time before she came back and we had the impression she was making them herself. While the food was delicious and our server was very nice, we probably won't go back. It was worth the drive (we live in NKy) to go once, but not to go again.

So happy we did because the food is AMAZING! We accidently drove past it at first. The restaurant kind of blends in with the building. We parked in the back and walked up front. Doing so, we could see where the cook is and get a pre-smell of the food. The dining room is fairly large with several large tables. Although the lady in the front seemed a little tired, she was friendly and helpful with our order. Unfortunately they were already out of ribs and brisket but still had everything else. We decided to try a few things and everything I would get again with the exception of the cole slaw. It wasn't bad, just a little dry for my taste. We will definitely be back anytime we are in the area.

Scooters is a small establishment on the main drag in Austin. It's clean and comfortable. The table and chairs set up would remind you of a school lunchroom. The menu is fairly limited and definitely BBQ centered. I had the 1/2 rack ribs that comes with chips ($10.99). My wife had the Pork Platter with 2 sides. We also tried the Loaded Tots and fried Mushrooms appetizers. The Loaded Tots came topped with pulled pork, bbq sauce, and cheese. They were very good, however the Tots were not hot enough for me. They seemed to be about room temperature. On the opposite end of things, the Mushrooms came out so hot we had to wait a while to eat them. That's a positive as far as I'm concerned. My ribs (6 of them) were fall off the bone tender. Moist and tasty. I subbed what they called baked beans for my chips. The beans tasted like they were poured straight out of a can and microwaved. Nothing special. My wife's pork sandwich was delicious. The pork was tender and moist, not dried out like some places. Her sides were potato salad and macaroni and cheese. I tried her potato salad and it was just OK. I did not get to try her mac and cheese, but she said it was delicious. No fountain drinks nor beer. Soft drinks are canned and bottle water. They did have tea, but only sweet tea. We opted for two bottled waters. I want to mention, I used the restroom and it was SPOTLESS. Maybe the cleanest restroom I've seen in a restaurant! As you can tell I was impressed. Prices are very reasonable. Two appetizers, two meals, which included 1/2 rack, and two bottled waters came to $32 and some change.
