This was a central place to meet a friend for a meeting. I was 30 min. early and so decided to get some work done, as I observe 10 others doing as I type this review. There's one person having a very loud meeting on their computer. I asked for the wi-fi password and she informed me that I had to buy something first. Ok, I guess that's fair. No problem, no complaint, not comment. I was going to wait for my friend before ordering, so I sat down to use my phone's hotspot. About 5 minutes later the same woman came over to hassle me because I had bought my own water in. I asked her if I had done something to offend her? She said I was "on her radar." I've no idea why she was targeting me. I literally did nothing to anyone, minding my own business. When my friend arrived, they spoke well of the coffee, so there's that. The space was so cute, cozy, and charming. There were a lot of plants, colorful glass, and even a space where a projector screen could be used for, what I imagine would make a great night time venue. It's eclectic and fun without being overstimulating and I really appreciate it for that- you could probably say I'm Grateful! I can get why some people might be disappointed if they're looking for a craft brew bar, but this is a great place for good coffee and good beer (if your okay knowing it'll be canned). Grateful Brew was the one place that I knew we were going to go and love, when I was researching places to go ahead of our trip to Greenville. And we did! I can't wait to come back on our next trip here. I love their outdoorsy / national park inspired vibe inside and outside. It was unique and really welcoming. The staff were all awesome - so friendly. They welcome dogs both inside and outside, and they have a ton of outdoor seating with umbrellas. They even brought out these large industrial fans because it was really hot. They have a solid list of beers, seltzers, & ciders on tap, as well as canned beers to go. They also had a dispenser with free pretzels, which was really cool! I love the shape of this building, it used to be a ski shop and hair salon too. The triangle vaulted ceiling has a beautiful gold lotus chandelier, I can't help but snap a photo. The mural and decor is mesmerizing. As a plant lover, I enjoy the stag-horn ferns, fiddle leaf figs, and snake plants. The place feels very homey with lovely bar seating and repurposed pews. There's draft beer, bottled beer, coffee, and kombucha on tap. I've tried it all and have never been disappointed. They offer a great variety of beers you'd not find other places. Last time I had a "red velvet" stout made with beets, it was a gorgeous red and slightly sweet, just awesome! Prices range from $4-8 for pints, $2-5 for half-pints, and some brews have growlers options. Don't forget to check out the refrigerators on your way out for a snack at home. read more

I enjoyed the aesthetic of the building and the decor; it felt very airy and open and not like typical, dark musty coffee shops. It was super cute inside! Great new place hiding on a mixed development stretch of Pleasantburg. I love the decor, which is subtle, understated 1960s/1970s vibe. The staff is all friendly and attentive. So far I've only stopped in for beer. They have a great selection, with something for everyone, including a few choices of wine. Obviously they're working on their relationships with the local food trucks, because the Chuck Truck has bee there both times I've been there. Of course I've tried their cold coffee 'on tap'...slightly sweet and strong. They take great care with their coffee preparation, so I'm looking forward to stopping in when I need a latte. They also have a selection of local snacks, so whet it's a cinnamon roll with your coffee or cheese with your beer, they've got you covered. I absolutely love this place. The moment I stepped in, I was in awe of the decor. Natural lighting, plenty of seats...it's a very open place. I've tried two drinks, a honey lavender latte and an iced mocha. They make their syrups in house so it's unique to this location. I'm a huge fan of their honey lavender latte. It doesn't leave a bitter taste in your mouth. I try to come here as often as I can during the "quiet" hours to get some work done but I also love that they can totally switch to being a social place with beer and food trucks. This is such a sweet addition to Greenville that's not downtown. So glad they're here! I do think they turn off their wifi in the evening, but I have yet to confirm this. EDIT: I had to put it down a star because they stopped serving coffee after five! Nooooooo. Now it's just a bar and not a coffee/bar. That was what appealed to me.
