There is a lot to like about this large park and it's one of my favorites. I'll break it down by…read morethe primary features. Trails: this is the primary reason I go to Crockett Park. I sometimes walk but mostly bike on the trails with a little one. They are relatively flat and because they are so long, they are rarely crowded. The trail users vary in age and there are plenty of blind curves, so it's not a place to go for fast biking. The scenery is varied and the majority of the trails are shaded. As a bonus, there are lots of places you can dip your feet in the Little Harpeth River. You can bike from Smith Park to the south to Tower Park north of Concord Road. The trails also connect to various neighborhoods, the Brentwood Library, and the Brentwood YMCA. Five stars. Playgrounds: there are several playground at Crockett Park/River Park. The main one near Woodland Middle School between baseball fields. It's large with a divided small kids and big kids section. Kids love it, and there are plenty of benches and tables for parents to sit or for a lunch break. Five stars. Frisbee golf course: 18 holes and, unlike many in the area, clear signage. Some holes are similar and a few are pretty short, but overall good course for a quick game. Four stars. Restrooms: these are all over the park. Some are closed part of the year, but for the most part they are open and reasonably clean for public restrooms. Four stars. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, bike ride or attend a sporting event. Amphitheatre: The Eddy Arnold Amphitheatre is great for summer concerts, of which there are many every year. Sports fields: I don't use them at this time, but they are very well maintained and there are a lot of football, soccer, and baseball fields. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, or bike ride. This is handy for days when the fields are crowded for soccer and/or football games, because you can avoid the traffic. Most lots are adjacent to a trail. Check it out for one or more of these features when you get a chance.

Decided to ride out to Granny White Park with my 13 month old to burn off some energy and get some…read moresunlight in before bedtime. It was the perfect night. This park is excellent for toddlers- so much to play with and experience. My son can walk but this park would also be great if you had a crawling baby. There is a smaller children's area that is turfed and has many different play items that kept my son's interest. He did not want to leave. Lots of park are difficult to take this age to just based on there not being enough equipment for them to play with while also not being safe/hazardous for toddlers. Would highly recommend this park!!! Pros: - fenced in - so many swings - clean bathrooms - lots of parking - fun and enjoyable

I go here often on weekday mornings with my three kids (ages 4, 3, and 1), and it's probably the…read morebest park in the Nashville area for young kids especially if you have multiple children. Parking is incredibly easy since the lot is huge. The playground is fully fenced, which is one of the biggest reasons I love coming here. At many other parks there are creeks, busy walking paths, or playgrounds located too close to roads. Here, the playground is nicely separated from other activities, making it much easier to keep multiple kids safe. The restrooms are nearby and have always been clean during our visits. The playground itself has plenty to keep my kids entertained, and I especially appreciate that I can let my 1-year-old explore without constantly worrying about dangerous drop-offs or easy escape routes. The only areas that require a little extra supervision are the large blue slide and the spinning play feature. The park is nicely shaded and has several tables around where you can sit and enjoy a snack or lunch. I believe you can also rent the pavilions with tables for parties. If you have toddlers, preschoolers, or several young kids to keep track of at once, this park is hard to beat. It's safe, well-designed, and one of our family's favorite places to spend a morning.

We first started at the castle looking playground which is Huge with many climbing structures, swing, and a sand box area! And lots of picnic tables around the area which was great for our picnic we packed! Highly recommend

The crab cakes were a 4/5 - my husband felt like there was a little too much filler. The remoulade was delicious - and it would have been good to have just a bit more. I had the lamb chops on top of chimichurri sauce, which was a great way to serve because you get to decide how much sauce. The lamb chops could have had the fat trimmed a bit pre and they were slightly overcooked but not enough to send back. Just a note to the kitchen. My 2 sides were loaded Brussels sprouts and they were cooked perfectly. I also had the cowboy corn sauce, which was delicious. My husband had a burger, which was a 5/5. Roll was great and completely prepared to his order. Drinks were delicious - I had the Coco Melon. Nick had beer. We definitely will be coming back.

Without a doubt, you're in Brentwood. I find it so interesting how metro parks vary from city to…read morecity (and neighborhood to neighborhood). One thing I have definitely discovered along this journey of metro parks is that Brentwood parks all have a certain feel and more often than not, that feel is 'nice.' There's a reason people move to this area, folks. I don't know enough about Brentwood to know if Granbery Heights is a neighborhood or subdivision (there's a difference), but the park (like many others in the metro) is school-adjacent. The school is an elementary so if you're not walking a dog or don't have little ones, I'd suggest coming here on the weekends so as not to look out of place or sketchy. The parking lot's not exceedingly larger -- especially for a suburban park. If it fills up, I didn't note much convenient street parking, as the park is situated in a residential area and you're more likely to wind up parking on someone's property. So, there's that. But once you get over the logistics of parking, there's much to enjoy. You'll note, right off the bat, that there are large tennis courts and one decently-maintained basketball court. These courts will remind you that adults do come to the park... but they probably have kids/pets. Speaking of little ones, there are a couple of nice playgrounds on the property. While one is directly next to the school (and, thus, may not be part of the park per se) there's one that's definitely park property and it looks like a little kid's dream come true. If I were [redacted] years younger, I could see going hog wild on that thing. While there are no fields (baseball, soccer, kickball), there is a nice walking path that takes you by a small pagoda and through many lovely trees. I first came here in early spring and it must have been too early because the trees hadn't yet bloomed. But when they do, I bet this park is stunning. This wouldn't be a place I'd recommend one come to if wanting to run free (lack of fields, very hilly terrain) but as a place for directed play (how Randian) for adult and child alike, the park gets the job done. This isn't a destination park like Vivrette Smith Park but as a neighborhood resource, it's pretty nice.

This park opened in 1979 and has 7 acres. It has a playground, tennis courts, a paved…read morewalking/jogging path, and a gazebo. It was originally gifted to the city of Nashville by James Granbery, Jr, and the parkland sits against Granbery School. It's a very charming park, with a great paved path. This park also has one of those circuit exercise sections- the second one I've seen in a Metro Park, and I love it. I'm sure it's busy during the school year, so go enjoy it before the school year starts; it was dead empty upon our arrival on a gorgeous Saturday.

Lots of local wildlife: squirrels, chipmunks, armadillos, and to my surprise wild turkeys. It's beautiful and tranquil. Feels very safe. A lot of families, and people walking solo. We walked the whole "lakeside" loop which as a casual pace with many pauses took about an hour and a half. Only negative is finding parking can be challenging but I suppose limited parking does mean for lower populations walking which is nice.

We always enter from the "access trail" side. It is a smaller parking lot but we like coming in from this side. Depending on what time you get there, you may have a slight wait time to park but it is usually pretty quick and efficient. We usually arrive before 8:30am and have had no problem finding a spot. There are I believe at least 2 handicap spots at this entrance. They also have bathrooms available that are always clean and kept up. At the main entrance, entering from (otter creek). There is a welcome center with information and a small gift shop. Before bringing a stroller we would always go on the trail through the park woods but now with our baby and taking a stroller we take the paved path which was just redone and is SO nice!!! Strollers and bikes are not permitted on the dirt path so keep that in mind. There is so much beauty to look at while enjoying a nice peaceful walk. Eagles, owls, deer, frogs, turtles, birds, and more creatures to look at all while visiting Radnor. It is a staple as a local to get outdoors and into fresh air. Great place to take kids or any family that is visiting or even a great place to go on a nice solo long walk.
