Very quiet place. Dr still took us in after being 30 mins late. They do keep it extremely cold in here though, bring your jackets!

Dr…read more Stern is incredibly knowledgeable, super kind, made me feel comfortable the entire time, and he explained everything to me so that I understood. His office personnel, and both Janet's are nothing short of amazing as well. What's also nice is that they have their very own app. you can download on your phone. It offers a wide variety of features. If you have a question for Dr. Stern or his staff you can simply open up the app and message him directly and Dr. Stern has always replied back by the end of the day! I'm very appreciative and highly recommend Dr. Stern, Rheumatology Associates of Grapevine!!

TL;DR: Dr. Stern is amazing and honestly I'm somewhat sad that I no longer have to go back to the…read moreGrapevine office. He gives you details related to your medical condition in English, not in medical jargon. You get notes, that you can READ!!! So you can reference them later. You get printouts that are related to your condition(s). If you need a referral somewhere else, he'll make suggestions to the best of his ability. Dr. Stern will also not treat a condition unless it's necessary, he's not trying to take every last dollar from your wallet. ------- I was diagnosed with an Autoimmune disease on 10/31/18 by my dermatologist. She said that every single one of her patients LOVE and recommended Dr. Stern so I scheduled the first available appointment with him which was on 1/31, and did my best to wait patiently. Ms. Janet Maffei was the Physician's Assistant that spent the first visit with me. She spent what felt like an hour with me and didn't rush me, bless her heart she listened to everything I had to say and took notes. She made recommendations for Dr. Stern, which would be followed up on the second appointment. I meet Dr. Stern briefly at the end of the appointment before I went to have my labs done and he let me know that once the labs were done we would be able to proceed from there. Both he and Ms. Maffei recommended a certain website to assist me with bursitis I have in both knees and hips, back pain, and exercises for my shoulder pain as well. Understandably they couldn't recommend anything for the pain because they didn't want to mask any underlying issues or I could have been fishing for narcotics. They did recommend what I could take OTC and/or hot/cold packs. He also worked with another Doctor of mine to get one of my prescriptions (I think after my first appointment they communicated) increased to help the pain, and it helped a bunch. I waited for another 3 weeks (Dr. Stern's a busy guy!) and I was told this in advance! I did have my labs available to me online on the patient portal but I didn't really understand any of it. When I went in I meet up with him and he went in and described everything, in very great detail that was simple for me to understand. He even wrote notes down for me, and they were easy to read! Luckily for me, I didn't have said autoimmune disease and he said that while he was here for me if I needed him... well, I didn't need to keep paying the higher costs since I didn't have those issues. I asked him about the pain in my shoulder, because I'd waited essentially 5 months for treatment thinking it was the autoimmune disease, and he referred me to a local (extraordinary) shoulder specialist Dr. Howard. He told me he could give me a steroid injection, but that honestly he'd prefer that I see someone that could actually help me rather than just giving me a bandaid. Dr. Stern is a specialist and while I am happy that I won't be needing his services, I will say that I'll miss having him as a Doctor. If I could pick him as a Primary Care Provider I would totally do it, but to those of us who need him... They luck out by having a doc that actually cares about his patients. Someone that's not gonna take every penny you have because they can.

She simply said Dr Basu is running late all the time every day, adding "do you want to reschedule?" No, I said. We've been waiting for 55 minutes without you or the doctor giving us an update. Very unprofessional and a horrible way of inviting new patients to your healthcare practice. Dirty lobby floor. Lazy front desk people who look likey need to run a mile. Amanda made everything about herself, and I had to sit there and listen to her tell me about her own journey over and over at each visit. She constantly talked over me, one-upped me, and continued to make every appointment about herself to the point my husband said something to me about it when I didn't even bring it up to him...he never notices anything, so I was shocked. I never felt heard, and though I have no doubt she knew what she was doing, Dr. Roopa listens and says that I know my body, and would adjust accordingly and it always worked. Amanda would always tell me what worked for her, and didn't listen when I told her I knew my own body, and her methods for herself were not working for me, even though I tried them. She did give good advice, but it wasn't advice I needed at the visits. I haven't had issues with the front office staff or the nurses/techs. My BIGGEST complaint besides Amanda, is the fact I cannot see Dr. Roopa every visit. I hate going back and forth between her and the medical assistant. I have no issue with the current MA I see, but I don't like not seeing the same doctor every time. When I explained this to the front, they told me it isn't possible to see only Dr. Roopa. I've never had a practice like that before, and I already have medical anxiety as it is. and seeing different people triggers it badly. I explained this to the front and they wouldn't accommodate me. If Dr. Roopa weren't so amazing, I would've changed practices a long time ago. 3 stars because I'm so torn...

I don't know if they're rotating their staff, but there seems to be different people each time I visit. I adore my care team, they're always pleasant and when something is needed in between my visits, they are very punctual when completing the requests. Keep it up!

They told me that I needed to do all of the normal eye exam tests before the doctor would see me. I refused since I already had an eye exam back in August with my regular eye doctor. They refused to let the doctor see me for the chalazion unless I did all the tests. I argued that the tests were not necessary since 1. I already had them this year and 2 I was there for the chalazion only and would not be returning for any other treatments. I'm guessing they just wanted to perform unnecessary tests so they could charge me or my insurance more money. Their office manager or head woman in charge was very rude with me and would not budge on asking the doctor if he would just see the chalazion. Worst eye doctor business I've ever been to!!!
