Anyone moving during this time understands how stressful the process is with the current climate of the market. After working with Alex's team, I needed just a little more clarification about requirements during the processing stage and a few frustrating hiccups I had encountered along the way (as many homebuyers have). Alex personally contacted me and we spoke on the phone. He attentively listened to my side, and gave me a ton of insight from a lender perspective which allowed me to feel more relaxed about the business I had done with PrimeLending. I was even pleasantly surprised by a handwritten thank you note that I had received in the mail shortly after. I have professionally worked in consumer relations for over 15 years and when I have experiences that exceed expectations, I have to share. Alex, if you're reading this, please know that you are a dignified leader in every sense of the word. Your level of intellect, communication, customer understanding, accountability, professionalism and class is VERY rare and deeply appreciated. Especially in the world of finance. You are an amazing branch manager and I hope to see you and your team thrive even further in the future. Thanks again, Dominique

I worked directly with Mark Raskin as a first-time homebuyer, and unfortunately my experience was…read morevery disappointing. The most frustrating part was not my credit score itself, but the lack of proactive guidance. Before my mortgage application, I believed my credit score was much higher than it actually was. Once my credit was pulled, it became clear that there was a significant gap between my expectations and reality. However, I was never proactively informed about the situation, its impact on my mortgage options, or potential remedies that might have been available. I later learned about rapid rescore through my own research rather than from my lender. Given my credit profile, this was something I believe should at least have been discussed. Instead, I remained unaware of important information that could have affected my decisions during a very time-sensitive period. When I later reached out with questions, I did not feel supported or educated as a first-time borrower. Conversations often felt rushed and dismissive, and I was repeatedly told that I could simply refinance later. While refinancing may be an option in the future, it is not free, effortless, or a substitute for helping borrowers understand all available options before closing. As a first-time homebuyer, I expected more proactive communication, guidance, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

I'd heard nightmare stories of people going to lenders and being told "you have to pay this, do that, wait..." So I called Jonathan about 4 months before I really even planned to apply. You see, in that moment he really had no reason to help me if you think about it. I wasn't paying him any money, and in a world where time is money he was providing his time and expertise to me who really had nothing to offer for months to come. THAT is the measure. He not only explained the process very clearly and kindly, but he followed up with an email for all that we discussed, assessed my situation, and sent me a timeline for the next 6 months. I was so impressed. Anytime I emailed him, he responded. He also connected me to an AMAZING agent in Lauren Pratt, and together they made it a very streamlined process. Not once did I find it stressful, at all times I was kept abreast of things, and well ahead of time. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the first time we met face to face was at closing and he was super cool. He shared with my partner and me his love for non-profits and was really outgoing. Being in non-profit work, I loved finding out that he is connected to many non profits. He also does projects alongside them, giving back every chance he gets. I would and will recommend Jonathan to anyone looking for a mortgage loan. If you are just starting your home buying experience, reach out to Jonathan. You won't regret it!

Last but certainly not least (and this is the beyond part because I don't think many other lenders take the time to do this) they have set up strategic touchpoints post-close to discuss any questions WE have about our new home such as - setting up our new loan payments, tax exemptions, home remodel questions, and any thing else! Colonial Bank was recommended to me through my realtor when it came time to refinance my home. I…read morehad originally gone through B of A, but wanted a better rate and more personalized service. My agent recommended Colonial because they gave her family member extra time to pay his mortgage when he lost his job. Just gave him an extra few months to catch up on his other bills without worrying about losing his home. Can that get any better? I worked through a loan officer named Colleen Meehan and she is the bomb. After looking through all our finances, she came up with great percentage rate and gave us some really good personal advice on how we can make the most of what we had. My husband and I trust her with all our private info and she is super professional and knowledgeable. We went on to purchase a new home several years later and we went through Colleen at Colonial again. When it came time to update the kitchen, she looked at competing rates and even suggested a different bank (credit union) with a better interest rate. When a friend was ready to purchase her first home, we recommended Colleen and she helped our friend out a bunch too. The actual bank we use is small, has tellers that remember us, and they still hand write their deposit slips. My hubby goes inside to give Mrs. Meehan a what's up every now and then, and she knows us by name on site. We love this bank and we love Colleen!

Global Lending Services - Questionable Lending Practices…read more My experience with Global Lending Services (GLS) was subpar and extremely disappointing and concerning. I contacted GLS to request a loan payoff amount and asked for their bank routing and account number so that I could pay off the vehicle loan through my bank. The representative informed me that they do not have a routing and an account number for electronice payoff and that the only way to process a payoff electronically was for me to give them direct access to my personal bank routing and account number ...ABSOLUTELY NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!! The representative insisted this was the "quickest way" to pay off the loan. I was then transferred between several representatives, and communication was extremely difficult because of their extremely poor English that was barely understandable. Ultimately, I was told the only alternative was to send a certified paper check to a post office box, which is both inconvenient and outdated for a financial institution handling auto loans. In addition, the interest calculations appear to be structured in a way that significantly increases the overall cost of the loan, which raises further concerns about transparency. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Global Lending Services due to their limited payoff options, questionable payment practices, their poor customer service and lack of understanding of banking processes and poor English/comminication skills.
